The initial experience was a joke. Tried to reserve online and that didn't go well. Call to verify and had to redo it all with a phone agent and within that time the price doubled. I screen shot the initial estimate and they said nothing they could do. They also said to talk with the location and see if they would discount but they already knew they couldn't help and just wanted me off the phone.

The key drop off box was in a different place from the drop off area. There was no clear sign to show where the box was.

This location was wonderful. Uhaul was not. I was not given the pickup or drop-off location I requested, I was not given enough miles to reach my destination, and the gas level recorded before I picked up was about 1/8 of a tank more than what was actually in there. I put more in than I used and still got charged for 4 more gallons. I used to use Uhaul all of the time but haven't rented from Uhaul for years. I see that nothing has changed and renting from Uhaul is still a very frustrating experience. Too bad they are the only game in town. Maybe they would improve if they had a little more competition.

The uhaul was very dirty, items were left in the back, the cab was sticky everywhere, and the truck was very old. I would rate the customer service rep that helped us 3 stars. He could have been more helpful and did not help us right away.

The towing dolly didn't have a built in jack which made the job of unhook it then hook it to truck very arduous job to do.

When the arrival area is Martinsburg WV there should be a closer drop off point. It's a little out of the way to travel 45 min. to make a return of equipment.

The Berkeley Springs U-Haul rental place was awesome. I originally tried to do business with the Glen Burnie location to where I was going to pick up furniture for a one way rental. I got the runaround and was told that I would be called by 8 o'clock two days prior and never got a call until late afternoon the next day after they were supposed to call me. They really put me in a really tight spot and I had to make sure that I had a rental to pick up the furniture because there was a deadline for me to pick up the furniture. I wound up having to do a two-way because of their incompetence. I wound up having to spend more money to make sure I had a truck but the Berkeley Springs location came through for me even though the Glen Burnie location in my opinion cost me more money than what I should have spent. They definitely need improvement on their customer service side of the business. They left me hanging so I rented the truck from my local U-Haul here in Berkeley Springs and they were awesome.

Brady was amazing and patient when we had some hitch issues. He worked on the ground in the rain to get everything hitched up properly. It is hard to find someone with that kind of work ethic and great attitude. He is a valuable asset!

Have a mandatory check list that is mandatory to check off Conditions of equipment when it is returned and checked out. I received a filthy 5x8 box trailer. I had to pressure wash it before using. The return app didn't work for me while onsite and was forced to leave trailer on lot. I was charged an extra day and 20.00 dollar fee. This is the second time I have had issues with equipment from Uhaul. The first time was a car trailer that didn't have brake fluid in the surge tank and cost me multiple hours waiting on new trailer. It also endangered me and my family's life as well as others on the road due to the neglected equipment. I will never use Uhaul again.

The person at the counter was not trained to wait on me. I had to wait over 45 minutes for someone to come that knew how to do the paperwork. I had reserved the dolly the day before and told them the time that I would be picking it up. When I returned it at the time they had indicated, there was no one there to receive and it was during regular business hours.

Establish a drop box for the vehicle keys. There was no after hours drop box and no mail slot. No one at U-haul knew what to do because the person responsible for the Berkeley Springs, WV location (at your HQ) was on vacation and left no instructions.

Trailers should have a jack that way you don't have to manually lift them to hook to vehicle. There's a lot of tongue weight on an empty 6x12 enclosed trailer.
