My scheduled time to pick up was 8am no one showed up until 8:45am. putting us an hour behind. Then the guys was turning customers away that needed their cars inspected. Telling them it would not be up and ready until 10am and to go to the Webb Ave location. He was not friendly at all. When he did show up late he got out of the car and smoked before he even went in to unlock.

There was only one person working at this location and this was also an inspection station. I had to wait until the attendant completed an inspection to process my rental.

The person at Dekra was helpful and courteous but the Uhaul was dirty and covered in mud in the back. Also there were a dozen manuals left behind by the previous customer.

Stop and Shop in Burlington, North Carolina has very bad service. The right side light wasn't working when I picked it up. Also, before that I called to confirm that I will go pick the rental they hung up the phone on me. I wouldn't recommend people to get the rentals there but recommend people to go different places instead within the same company. I rented a lot of U-HAUL and I always get excellent services. But stop and shop in Burlington, North Carolina won't be the place for me to go anymore. Bad customer service and they don't check there products before lending.

They need to explain to their customers that if they put extra gas into the truck and turn it in, they will not be refunded any monies back! Gas is way too expensive to be feeling a huge U-Haul truck, and you won't get your extra back!

There were two small trailers available. One looked new and pristine. I was given one that looked very old, had some dents and gave me concern about the trailer. I also was left to install the trailer on my own- this could have been a safety concern if i was capable of doing this. There was no check of my hookup.

My original contract was at Doby u Haul. Arrangements made before. No truck when I came for my rental. Computer glich? Truck available elsewhere-ready to go--not! Deka very busy had to wait and then redo all paper work Delayed over an hour putting me in rush hour traffic at my destination.

clarify when ordering 14ft truck that that means bumper to bumper not actual storage space and specify that there is not normally help in loading car and attaching to auto transport

My experience was horrific. After reserving a truck, blankets, and appliance dolly a week before my move, I received an email the next day assuring me that all was confirmed. I gave it no more thought, and continued with the million other details the upcoming move required. Then, the night before my move, I discovered an email from UHaul informing me that supplies weren't available at the confirmed location. Instead I could pick up a different sized truck somewhere else. To my horror, this different location would not have a truck available until noon. I had arranged to have three men arrive at 9 o'clock to begin loading. I had to contact them to change the start time, and one was unable to commit to the later hours. Now I'm down to two helpers who aren't sure they can stay late enough to get the job done. I also called the new location to confirm the equipment and was told that they didn't have an appliance dolly. I had to send my daughter out in search of one, which fortunately she found. The merchants there were kind enough to bring the dolly to my house in their personal truck so I wouldn't have to fetch it after picking up the truck elsewhere. But there were more problems to come. When I arrived at the new location to get the truck, only one young man was working. He was just beginning an inspection of a car (this was a Dekra site), and I had to wait until he finished that to receive the truck. It was 12:30 before the paperwork was finished. My granddaughter had to ride with me, and when we entered the truck, there was no accessible seatbelt for the passenger seat. The young man worked for ten minutes struggling to get a defective, buried seatbelt up high enough so I could buckle her in. The clasp never did reach up above the seat level, and it required tremendous handstrength to wrench it high enough to buckle up, but he finally managed to get it closed around her. We returned to my house, now nearly 1 pm, where my helpers were waiting. We opened the back of this truck to find that it had not been swept and the floor was littered with gravel. Another ten minutes wasted. Then we realized that the truck's ramp was too short for the height resulting in a ramp angle that was so steep it was dangerous to even walk up and down it, much less carry heavy furniture. All boxed and pieces had to be lifted by hand in and out of this truck. All this, and I had been given a contract telling me that the truck was due back at 8 pm (when your website itself says that the average large truck move takes ten hours.) And it was nearly 1 o'clock before we could begin real loading - slow loading with no safely usable ramp. Of course, we weren't through at 8. When I and my granddaughter finally pulled back into the Dekra site with the truck, it was after 10 o'clock. I was beyond exhausted, with insufficient help and the late hours. I turned off your truck, helped my 9 year old granddaughter out, and suddenly realized that I had not refilled the gas tank. I

Please let me know ahead of time when pick up location changes. It was a panicky feeling when we arrived at originally scheduled location and they said they didn't have a truck for me. Thankfully there was one at Dekra, but it'd be nice to know that before being told there is no truck!!

We rented the uhaul online. When we arrived to pick up they could not find our reservation. They sent us to another haul dealer. On our way they called us and asked to come back they had found the reservation. They then proceeded to tell us that we had to return the uhaul to their store because Greensboro was considered local. We drove the truck back 31 miles to their store (instead of 7 miles to the one in Greensboro). When we got there they said that we could not return there - that it needed to be taken to greensboro. They were able to change things in the computer but had to charge us an additional $12 for returning to them due to mileage chargers. It would have been cheaper and much less hassle for me to return in Greensboro like originally planned but they told us we could not.
