I will be turning in a letter of the all the issues from beginning to end to corporate Uhaul. The Manager at this location was the only person that was professional and knew what he was doing, the others did not have a clue and there was one issue after another for 2 days, then once we took off to drive to Oklahoma there were several issues with the truck and told them when we dropped it off, the front end needs work, the govern is turned up too high, we were going up some hills in Maryland and were barely going 28 miles per hour and then the air conditioner was off and on the whole way. It was a miserable trip.DorAnn B.

It took 30 minutes to check in (even though I had completed the advanced check in online to shorten counter time) and 30 minutes to check out because the only employee behind the counter had to continually stop our transaction to check out the 10's of customers buying beer and cigarettes. In addition, it was a coronavirus nightmare. The signs on the door said nose and mouth must be covered by mask, but when we checked in on Friday at 6:00 three of the four men behind the counter (employees?) did not have masks at all or did not have their noses and mouths covered, consequently, many of the customers were careless as well (no mask, mask pulled down around neck, t.-shirt pulled up over nose and mouth. Suggestions: have a second employee step in to handle uhaul rentals so they do not have to pause and push Uhaul customer to the side every time some one wants to buy something; and show respect for customers and CDC guidelines during the pandemic by abiding by their own store rules and keep nose and mouth covered. It was time consuming, inefficient and and dangerous to be in that establishment. I will never go back and I will warn all I speak to at work, at church and in the community.PEGGY V.

The van smelled like stale smoke. I reserved a truck and utility trailer but was not told that i needed to hook up the trailer myself. I am a 50+ yo female and could do it if shown but didn't want to chance it crossing the Bay Bridge. That was disappointing. The last time i rented both someone was there to help (not at this location).Pamela H.

Even though this location was very nice, it was miles away from my requested pickup location in Easton , MD. There are three Uhaul locations in Easton and I cannot believe that a suitable vehicle was not available . The fact of being notified only the day before the pickup date that addition travel and time would be required for pickup is unacceptable. This shows me a lack of logistic management at the inconvenience of the customer.I doubt I will ever be utilizing Uhaul services in the future due to the lack of customer service. I called about the problem as soon as I was notified and was basically told to take it or leave it. The only explanation I was given conveyed that all three locations in Easton did not have the 20" truck I requested available for one way use even though I requested it way in advance.John F.

When someone has a rental reserved and comes in, don't wait on people coming into the store for 15 minutes and try to get the rental done, hire at least one more person for the store so one person can take care of the register while the other takes care of the U haul customer.Gayle L.

Terrible experience. I originally reserved a truck to be picked up there and to drop it off in Chester. The day before the move I get an email saying the new pickup location was in DE. I called the number they gave me and the place did not have U-Hauls that weekend. So I called the place where I had originally made the reservation for and they couldn't see that I made one but said they had a truck there. So I was really relieved. When I got there to pick up the truck they told me that I only had 6 hours to have it and that I needed to drop it back off at the Denton location, which is a 45 minute drive from where I was moving. Since I was desperate, I said ok. So after rushing and trying to move everything as fast as we could I call the place and told them that we were running about 10 mins late. The man on the phone said we had 24 hours to return it!! So we we rushing around like crazy for no reason AND on top of that he charged me per mile which came to 173 dollars!!! That was outrageous! I have never been charged such a ridiculous amount to move and I've moved from PA to MD in the past. I will NEVER go there again. Horrible service and just an overall terrible experienceKaitlyn B.

I was very unhappy with my over all experience. I reserved the tow dolly 3 days in advance my puck up location was changed twice by uhaul the last location taking me overall 60 miles out of my way don't know why they tell you they have the equipment at a location and its not there and wait till the day of pickup to tell you where it is and out of your way at that time you have no choice but take if your on a time schedule. Very unhappy. Then make you pay double on a one-way rental I needed to tow my car about 180 miles and was charged for 2 days reallyDolores S.
You can correct the locations that the UHaul phone mistakenly gives out to customers. The location is no longer a Shell station. It is a Carrol station. More importantly, the location is not in the town of Easton, MD but nearly 20 miles away in the town of Denton, MD.ralph Y.

Although the truck I rented was brand new, the storage of the items I added on was not nice. The blankets that weren't in packaging had just been tossed in the storage unit that also had other stuff that the convenience store used so one blanket was wet and dirty and I didn't want to use that for my furniture.TONYA D.
Denton was NOT the pick up location Uhaul assigned me to after I made my reservation last week. I actually asked for a location in Cambridge Maryland on my reservation but Uhaul reassigned me to a location in Seaford Delaware. I arrived there at 9 a.m. and there was NO truck of any kind there. The woman behind the desk kindly contacted Uhaul traffic control who found a truck in Denton Maryland, almost 30 miles away. I got the truck there, but it was very inconvenient and set me back at least an hour on getting my task done. No problem with the Denton location, they were very nice and helpful.Bridget M.

This was the worst experience with UHaul EVER! First, I was confirmed at Eastern Trailers first, I contacted them to see if the trailer was available they said come by at 9am. Once the owner arrived it was discovered the trailer was not available at that location. He sent me to Denton Shell UHaul that actually had the trailer. Check the system you will see I was at one location and then after 2 hours was finally checked out at another location. The trailer was available an hour early at the Shell UHaul location, so we started the process of check out. I would like to note, none of this aggravation was caused by the clerk, she did her best to try to process our order. The system would not process the order. She made several attempts all failed to go to 2nd page. She then contacted UHaul on the phone. finally after an hour the phone rep. said to just start another order and foget about the reservation order. That worked. An hour to check out a $30 trailer rental is NOT acceptable. Around the 2 hour mark (from going from the original requested pick up point to the point where the trailer was actually) to check out a trailer we needed for 1 hour,my husband wanted to leave and just go buy a trailer. We only needed it for less than an hour and we had spent 2 frustrating hours trying to get it. We could have taken it gone and got the item I wanted to purchase and had the trailer back by the time the check out process was completed. I would also like to note, there is a $50 guarantee the item will be available when you get to your UHaul location. No one offered anything off of our rental even though we were sent to another location for pick up and then had to wait an hour for processing. Hopefully, will NEVER have to use UHaul again there are other rental companies.ROBERTA W.
I reserved the truck at the Easton Md site which was 2 miles from where I left, but the text I received said the truck was in Denton Md, which was 20 miles from where I left. I did not see anywhere on your website that stated the truck might not be at the site it was reserved at. On a positive note, the truck was great, fairly new, clean, A/C worked great, and the truck had plenty of power.Alan P.

Having worked at a Convenience store before, I understood the difficulties one person would have trying to cash out store customers and do all that was needed for U-Haul rental. Since the store, where I picked up truck or U-Haul changed the pick-up time, it would have been nice if that meant it was done because a second person would be available. Even though I waited in-between customers, I understood and the person was very attentive and nice. Because the store person was so attentive and nice, I did not mind waiting some.Susie P.

The truck was fairly new so it was in good condition, which is rare in my experience. It was not particularly clean though and it had only a quarter tank of gas so I had to find a station right away. The original location, 30 miles from the house i was packing up, didn't have the size I needed so I had to drive 50 miles out of my way to get the truck. They did add mileage to my contract but not enough. They apparently calculate the mileage fro the pickup point to the drop off point. That would be fine if the house I was packing up and the place I was delivering my property to was at those points, but it was not. So I was charged for 80 miles at 40 cents a mile. To me, that is complete bull. The contract mileage should cover the distance between pick up point, pack up point, destination, and the drop off point of the truck.Bill J.

I was sent 30 miles away from where I requested the truck with a 2 week lead time. Even though I completed the express check-in, it took a full 30 minutes for the man to complete the paperwork, making me late for the loaders, who were on the clock. Worst experience ever.James B.

I had reserved a 6x12 trailer. I received 2 email confirmations and 2 phone confirmations. When I arrived, they had no trailers on site and asked me if I was willing to drive to Dover Delaware to pick one up. It was on MY suggestion that they offer a truck, as it was a one day rental and I had planned to return it to their facility anyway. What should have been a $38.00 rental (trailer and insurance) ended up costing over $67.00, and the delay threw off my schedule for the move. The last time I had to pick up a truck from Uhaul, it was in Wyoming and had been reserved by my father. When we arrived, they truck wasn't ready. It took over 2 hrs to get the truck,Next time, I most likely will rent from Penske. I had 2 very good experiences with them.LINDA S.
