The men at the Derby Appliances rental location were incredibly kind, funny and welcoming. They made renting and returning the van less of a chore. I'll be going to them whenever I need an appliance from now on. As for U-Haul's side, I appreciated the gas gauge to know the exact amount to put in the tank to return it at dispatched level - so convenient & I wish every car rental place did this!CELINE A.

A $29.95 rental turned to $101. The truck wasn't there at 1:30 it got back at 1:50 which created a problem for the time I was to return it because they closed at 5pm and and they also rented the furniture dolly I requested to some else that morning. I have never been ripped off by U-Haul before but I really got ripped off this time. I would really look into this site and how their doing business. I definitely will think twice about using U-Haul again in the future.PATRICIA M.

I found out that initial estimates were around 55$ but when I returned actual cost was around 75$, Though I did booking from 5 PM I could only pick up after 6 PM, but the location was amazing and staff were very helpful and friedly.BHARAT SHYAM D.
Firstly, I want to say that everyone at Derby Appliance was amazing and friendly. My problem is mainly with U-Haul. I scheduled a mobile pickup, but the process would not allow me to use my temporary paper listen every as I have recently done an out of state license transfer from NY to NJ. I even had a photo of my old license, AND had my passport with me for Identification - this is something that should be able to be resolved over the phone speaking with a human being, but the rep told me I needed to wait for the location to open (almost 1 hour later, putting me behind schedule by an hour). Luckily, everyone at Derby was nice enough and it was no big deal, but I was still an hour late and I was renting this UHaul for work purposes. Then, I get in the van, and the low pressure light is on, as well as the fuel being lower than the release that I had signed indoors (by a 1/4 of a tank). All in all, I spent more money in gas, lost time bc of mobile check in, and lost time because I needed to service the rear wheel.TIMOTHY M.
This review is not really about the pick up location. It is about the UHAUL COMPANY ITSELF! The day before I was to pick up, I received a text message to confirm pick up. When I got to the location, they had no record of me picking up. I checked that text again and noticed that UHAUL HAD SWITCHED ME TO A DIFFERENT LOCATION!! Same town but different street address. So, at their leisure, they switch you??!! As a result, I paid $200 more than my confirmed email, of several weeks prior, for the original location. The folks at the pick up location were nice and accommodating, as they got me into the only truck left of the size I needed. IT IS UHAUL CORPORATE I HAVE A PROBLEM WITH!! The truck's cab was good - AC, charging ports, spacious, comfortable - but the ROOF LEAKED RAIN WATER onto my belonging in the box section. Word to the wise: Do not rent from Uhaul!! They switch things around on you, and they have very confusing policies. They should make these all very prominent, so the customer knows what he is up against.Keith C.

The van had a compromised right front tire, was dirty, the fuel gauge was not where it should be and Scott added CDW without my consent. Made a reservation via the app with contactless pickup, yet when I got to the location had to wait ~20-min for Scott to return to get the Van. When he arrived he insisted on changing to a standard pickup and in the process added CDW ($110) charge to the reservation.Muhammed B.
With Truck rental, I also requested for dolly and pads but it was on there inside the truck. The rental was on Sunday and mobile pickup it made my experience more difficult in moving without dolly and pads. So pls call a day before and make sure you have your requested stuff before pickup.Satyaprak R.

This has been the worst customer experience in the last 10 years. I originally booked a one way ride. UHaul changed it to an in town route and made me return it to Derby and charged me an extra day plus ancillary services. I want a credit back to my bill now so that my final bill is no more than the original estimate of $234. You have charged me $150 more than my original reservation. This is the ultimate bait and switch. Furthermore, they gave me the wrong truck which I had to return after I had already left the location after having to jump start that truck due to a dead battery. Try not charging for gas just because you think the customer isn't going to check the receipt. I put more gas in the tank then what I started with and was still charged. While confronting the sales rep about the issue with the gas I was brushed off and never refunded. I will NEVER recommend Uhaul again if this location is a representation of your brand.ROSALYN V.

The language in the rental agreement is very confusing meaning picking a location that may not be available on the day you need it. I thought I would be charged whether or not a van was available to me . But I pulled the trigger anyway because I really needed the Van.. the best experience is when a live operator called me to confirm she went over clearly what I would be charge and my pick up location and time allocated. The human touch is valuable in customer experience. Also the gentlem at the pick up place was very accommodating and pleasant. Thank you Uhal!JEAN M.
I used the app to pick up the truck and it took forever to get the approval and there were too many steps. Also, I wish I knew in advance that I had to give the 3rd party contact to pick up the truck. Other than that, the overall experience was good.Nicholas L.

it took over 30 minutes to confirm pick up. I was charged full amount and not reimbursed for the time spent waiting on U-Haul system to approve me. If that happens then drop off time should be extended to reflect lost time or customers should be reimbursed.Arnold W.
