TODD AInitially, we were given the wrong trailer, but we checked after we got the text saying we should check the plate first. They switched the trailer, but the moving blankets must have been in the original trailer because we didn't receive them. We were still charged for them.
TAMMY Boverall goo experience. The owner comes off a bit rude but i think its the normal business owner attitude for the valley im finding out. Tolerable. This is now the only local uhaul place near alamosa. The typical uhaul place in alamosa is no more. Expect to connect the equipment your self and do your own inspection, not an issue if you have rented before. He did charge me for insurance with out asking even though i declined it online when i reserved. I didnt see it until way after. $16 for two days, no big deal but he should have asked. He did help me modify the reservation from a 5x8 to a 4x8 cargo trailer with out major issues though, so thats great. The 4x8 will fit a 4x8 sheet, you have to put in diagonally but it will lay flat on the floor with extra room to spare on the sides and front to back. This little trailer tows great on the hwy. Its gonna bring your mph down a little. I had to get a 6in drop hitch for my 4runner thats got rear 1.5in lift so the trailer was level. a 4in drop hitch for a non lifted 4runner would be fine. a 2in drop hitch and the trailer will tilt back a little.
LUIS HI found this location to be dishonest, condescending, and rude. After the employee went outside to inspect the truck/auto transport I was returning, he came back inside and said I was good to go. I assumed this meant there were no concerns with the condition of the equipment and everything was fine. A few minutes later though, I was notified that U-Haul placed an additional charge on my credit card. It turned out this was a cleaning fee for a "dirty" floormat. I went back inside to ask him about this charge, at which point he became condescending and rude, telling me "the photos don't lie, bro" and "it's in the contract, bro". He then tried to tell me the fuel level was off (it wasn't, and I took my own photo showing that) and the moving blankets weren't folded well enough when I called him out on the cleaning charge. I have rented many U-Haul trucks over the years and have never been assessed a cleaning fee, especially for a floor mat that your feet are always touching. This was a money grab, plain and simple. He could have come back in and told me there was an issue with the truck, rather than telling me I was good to go and then charging me a cleaning fee behind my back. I have raised my concerns with U-Haul corporate, although I doubt that will do much good since this is an independent dealer. If you have an option to return somewhere else, please take it. This is the pickiest dealer I've ever been to and it's clear they just want to make as much money as they can. This really should have been a non-issue, but the poor attitude of the employee, the way he spoke to me, and the fact he wasn't honest about the charge for cleaning the "dirty floormat" lead me to escalate this to corporate and leave a negative review.

CRYSTAL DThe car carrier wasn’t available when I went to pick up the truck and the carrier. It was very disappointing and inconvenient because we had to return later with the truck. But the employee we dealt with give us extra miles and an extra day for the inconvenience. Which helped a little. I appreciate that you offered us this concession.

DANIEL Mthe people at Discount Auto Part are great, very professional and very helpful. the distance to get the truck I needed was very far and in the opposite direction, which was a major disappointment. I had to speak to someone on the phone about adding the milage back on but in the end it all worked out well.

EDWARD BThe U-Haul was not cleaned out. There was trash in the cab and the cargo space was really dirty. There was mud and it had not been swept out.
Haley SWhen switching locations for pickup please included the difference of miles. We selected Alamosa which was 17 miles away and needed the uhaul in Alamosa and the miles weren't added.
Thomas BI reserved my U-Haul in Alamosa, Colorado, and I had to pick it up in Monte Vista Colorado, which was in the next town further away. It was inconvenient.
June AThere was a weird noise in the ventilation system of the truck, which was annoying when there was a crosswind. Other than that, the truck was fine and in nice shape.

VALORIE VThe rental was all good until I started having transmission issues with the truck that was pulling the U-Haul trailer. I was desperate to drop the trailer off at any nearby U-Haul dealer but after many calls to U-Haul I was denied that option and was required to tow it 400 more miles on a transmission that was overheating. I was willing to pay a penalty to be able to drop it off somewhere different than my original planned point, but I was not allowed by U-haul. :(
jason dWe were in a bind and needed to rent unexpectedly that morning. Luckily they had a truck for us (with a dolly!) and it was ready within minutes. Excellent experience.
APRIL KThe after hours drop off procedure was cumbersome and could not be completed. I tried the phone process and it prompted to send an otp which requires getting out of the app to get the otp and then you have to start over. I used my laptop from home and it was also difficult and failed to complete because it didn't like the pictures I took of the trailer to show it was clean. I will avoid any uhaul after hours drop-offs as a result
Brian CThe 5' x 8' trailer was dropped off Saturday, 03 December, 2022, which was two days early, in Hooper, CO, at 11705 St. CO 17. I don't know how there was a " miscommunication", nor do I know why the trailer was not checked in immediately.

Tim WWasn't able to find correct city of my destination, which caused an initial drop off location that was very inconvenient. Uhaul customer service/scheduling was able to reschedule my drop off location to the requested location closest to my destination, but only because the unit wasn't on hold for someone else. Glad that was adjusted. If not, it would have been a real inconvenience, especially since I had appointments set day of return.
Carole MNobody was at the drop of place when we return equipment but was able to call and speak with someone about the return process before we brought it back. Everyone was gone home when we return equipment. They were very nice on the phone.

Thomas SWorst experience ever. The 10' truck is only about 6 ft tall. I could barely fit a king mattress in it. The gas tanks get siphoned at this location and the customers wind up paying for it, according to the manager. They over charge for everything and you don't get your difference back for 3-5 business days. Uhaul in Monte Vista is terrible.
