Customer service should always be pleasant this man was rude and rushing me to give payment, I was transferring money on my card because I got one quote and ended up paying 50 more

The unit I rented had a burned out turn signal. I was pulled over twice enroute home. Once by a State officer and once by a County officer. I was not ticketed but it was annoying. Part of that might bhe it was a reason to pull me over to look at the 70 year old vehicle I was transporting.
PAUL MThe staff at the Downtown Indy Self Storage was not friendly at all. The individual indicated that I wasn't supposed to return the unit to that location even though my contract indicated that it was required to be dropped off there. It took over 30 minutes to convince the individual and get the unit checked back in. I would not recommend this location to anyone looking to rent a U-Haul unit.

SYDNEY SMake sure the authorized dealers operate the same as a u haul rental place. The guy completely over charged me for having to extend my rental and charged me extension fee late fee and anything he could because I extended it 2 more days so instead of paying 180 I was charged 265 dollars and I am extremely not satisfied. He couldn’t take cash to rent it but was able to accept cash when he wanted the extra fees in the end !! Very very inconvenient and a hassle I will never go to an authorized dealer ever again!!!!
TRAVIS FThe first u-haul truck I was assigned to get didn't even start. the second truck did and performed as it should. I ended up having an issue with the car dolly I got from this location as well. Once I got to Connecticut from Indiana the turntable on the car dolly seized up and my power steering rack started leaking. The car dolly damaged my rack and pinion by forcing my wheels to turn while the steering wheel was locked. The turntable should move freely to prevent damage to the car on the dolly.

KAITLYN WNot for the next customer, but for me. I’ve already called in and asked for compensation - either a free rental on our next rental or a monetary compensation. This was unacceptable. Because of the pooor driving conditions there were accidents on I70 as I was driving - everyone had reduced their speed to 40 including semi trucks. To not have a fully functioning vehicle is UNACCEPTABLE. At this point I cannot recommend that location and am wary of using U-Haul again.

MARK VTHEY forgot to give me my furniture dolly and blankets, so I had to turn around and go back! Waste my time! Then I ordered six blankets, but only got four! THEN... I was threatened with a $45 charge if the blankets weren't folded! (NEVER HAD ANY LOCATION ASK FOR SUCH A RIDICULOUS REQUEST BEFORE!!!) I rent U-Haul trailers all the time. (Over 10 times in 2024 alone.) I've never had such a horrible experience... EVER!!! I will never come back to this location and I will tell every single person that asks to never come here. They should lose their franchise!

MICHAEL MI had questions about the bill and more detail on the charges since they were different from what I saw when making the online reservation. The gentlemen was unable to answer and said another type of insurance he did not know. Then when i received the truck it only had a 1/4 tank of gas. There were at least 20-40 other vehicles on the lot. I feel i maybe understand the product you are selling and be more considerate of your clients and give them at least half a tank of gas.
DAVID WPut the equipment I ordered and paid for in the truck. Make sure your dispatch then sends me to a second location that has the equipment I ordered. Then make sure the appliance dolly actually looks like the one I ordered and paid for. Do better.

CARLOS CCalled the facility to inform them that I would be dropping the truck off Early on Friday night after hours and to inform her of the AC issue as was directed by the pick up location. She told me that I needed a four digit code to be able drop off after hours and kept insisting that I did and I needed to contact customer service. She was of zero assistance. Disappointed with customer service at this location.

MELINDA MWe drove up at 4:55 and they were already closed. I called the phone number and was unable to talk to anyone or leave a message. I called the uhaul number and got a nice girl who mentioned a drop box. I found it about 1/2 block down the sidewalk.

He told me I should not have gotten out of my car but I had to because he didn’t acknowledge me. This man has been rude to me before and I don’t want to use this location again.
Misty WOn penalten pike st in Indpls Indiana . I had a hitch installed and when I picked up a renters trailer 5X8 one way I connected the lights and at first the lights worked! But then when I got 50 miles out of town the wiring you guys installed stop working and I drove 1700 miles with no trailer lights . This was a very bad experience for me could have had a traffic accident and possibly death . I am very disappointed in the u haul for how sloppy work was done on my 2014 Hyundai Senata I paid almost $ 400 dollars for installation and parts . I was given a warranty on my installation so I need to get my car checke out . Who do I call to resolve this ?
Efren GThe guy who rented me the truck added on the move safe insurance when online I said I didn’t want it. He was rude and insulting rolling his eyes when I asked what all I was being charged for. If the tax is 7% in Indiana then why was I charged 17.49 on 106.95? The 7%tax on 106.95 is 7.49. I was charged an extra 10.00 dollars for tax. He was mad when I asked him stuff and he said that’s what I said. Well I can’t help it if I can’t understand his language. If you’re going to put a person of another ethnicity then make sure he can speak English better. I wouldn’t recommend U-Haul to my family or friends with his attitude. Also it says that the rental time is 5:21 so the return for twenty four hours is 5:21 on the 5th of July not 5:00. I returned it at 5:15 so I had 6 minutes before it was late. He checked the cleanliness of the truck, the gas and made sure it wasn’t in an accident and put that it was returned at 5:47. 5:47 is when he got done checking the truck not when I returned it so there is a way he can charge for another day and that’s not right if your an honest business which I don’t believe he is honest. I will be contacting my credit card company about these charges. Thank you
Debra SI picked up truck before it was open. The furniture and utility Dollie’s were not on the truck when we picked it up. We called the 1-800 customer service. They told us that these 2 charges would removed and recommended to go to another U-Haul to get these 2 items. They did not have them. Also the gas tank was near empty and they said to return it with the same amount of gas. I did what customer service said to do. I returned the truck during open hours and was charged for 2 missing dolly's and a $12 fuel charge. I put gas in to cover the 16 miles I drove. I have pictures. The person at U-Haul was very rude and condescending. I can deal with that. I feel sorry for you all to have an employee like that representing U-Haul.I read the reviews afterwards and I am not the only one to have issues at this location. I have used U-Haul several times in the past with great service. I want your company to make it right and refund these fraudulent charges. I would like to add that when I have good/excellent service, I make sure the management is notified.

Austin NExplicitly asked for a 24 hour drop off in Indy when i was renting the trailer. When I arrived at the facility it was closed and the lot was behind gated and locked security fence. When I attempted to call the number for the facility which was on my contract the phone went right to a voice mail that indicated that the voice mail box had not yet been set up. Tried multiple times to call the number on the contract before i gave up and called U-Haul’s 800 number. You call center rep helpfully walked me through the steps to leave the trailer on the side of the road next to the facility.

Jose oMy pickup location was changed without my consent, and my pickup method was changed from in person to 24/7 app pickup without my consent or even any email or text letting me know. Then I showed up and was told I wasn’t allowed to grab a mattress bag I had already paid for. The pickup was also moved to a location that opens later so I had to wait an hour later than my actual pickup time to get the truck and they didn’t move back by drop off time or reduce the time I paid for. Awful experience overall.

Jeff NI had issues checking in with the app, so I had to wait 30 minutes for the pick up location to open. Not a big deal, but would have been an issue had I been at a pick up spot that wasn't open on Sundays.
