The workers should have SOME responsibility when it comes to noting any damage when renting a vehicle. I was accused and charged for damage done to the DRIVERS side top corner of the moving van. At no time did that part of the van EVER come close to ANYTHING while I used it but because I did not point it out / my fault.JAKE H.

I had reserved a cargo van but it wasn't available until 3 p.m. and I needed something sooner. So, I chose the 10' box truck for the same rate but the mileage rate was 20 cents higher. I asked the attendant to give me the cargo van mileage rate but she said she couldn't do that. I think it's reasonable and would be good public relations to honor my request.JOHN P.
Make sure reservations are accurate and do not change the size of the vehicle a day before a major move. Make sure that there are assigned parking spaces when returning the vehicles so that people do not have to return two times to return a vehicle.Raul P.

I did not like the fact that the app offered virtual check out to avoid having to go into the office and the site stated that virtual checkout is not an option for vans or trucks per U-Haul policy. I received confirmation that this was the process, reviewed the video and had to wait 20 minute to check out a rental van. I am disappointed and will not be recommending U-Haul to anyone! The staff at the location stated I could connect with U-Haul if this was a problem. I would have cancelled had I know this in advance. I received a text an hour before going in stating I was required to go into the office.ANTHONY F.

Tuesday Sept. 1, I placed a reservation for a 20 foot truck for the Downey location pick up. I received a confirmation for Bellflower pick up, which was way out of my way. I called the (424) 329-5296 speaking to Rep. David. Explained the situation, he immediately adjusted the pick up location and confirmed the pick up point of Downey. When I arrived they did not have the 20 foot truck, was offered a 15 footer. After loading while on Imperial hwy prior to the 605 intersection the signal turned yellow, began to brake and ended half way into the intersection came with in 4ft of broadsiding another vehicle. Needless to say, im done big time with UHAUL. BEEN RENTING UHAUL SINCE 1998.... NO MOREVictor P.

I don't know where to start with this whole experience, Reserved 2 6x12 cargo trailers for pickup in Long Beach and 24h before I get a call that we have to get one in Downey and the other in westminister. Get another call 18h before pickup that the one in Downey is not going to be available until 12pm next day scheduled for 9am. Get called next morning at 11am and now it's going to be 2â€“3 pm. In the end I got there at 2pm and the trailer was ready , Hooked it all up and they checked the lights and said it was all good. I asked the guy did you check all the tire pressures he said yes and even double checked and said yes. Drive home start packing and the next morning I find 1 tire with 5 psi other 3 45 psi and spec is 65 psi. Take it to gas station and spend over 20 min to get tires to spec. with slow gas station air. Topped off the low tire every morning next 5 days. Noticed when it got dark that the running lights do not work on trailer and they did at pickup so had to get stay an extra night in a hotel on our 2100mi drive to avoid driving at night and that is just the story of one out of the two trailers we rented. 2nd review will be under that reservation.Adam A.
They told me I could not return the truck after hours because of the COVID-19 crisis (?) and then tried to charge me double when I returned it the next day during business hours. When I called uhaul national, they said I could have returned it after hours. It would have been a lot more convenient for me to return it after hours using truck share.BRIAN B.

I was overcharged at this location. I have rented from this location three times. The first two times I did not find the customer service to be at all friendly. The third time was no different. But, did not say anything. However, on the third occasion, I was just blatantly overcharged. The customer service person gave me a contract that was misrepresentative of the gas level. I only drove the truck five miles and replaced the gas I used. But, I was charged for two gallons of gas as an extra charge for the claim that the level didn't match. This charge came after I left the premises upon returning the vehicle. In black and white, it is very clear the mileage only moved literally five miles. Unless these vehicles leak gas, there is no reason to charge someone for two gallons of gas, if I had not refilled it, which I actually had. I wrote to object to this charge and have not heard back. I am done all together with this location, and will skip convenience next time I need a uhaul and go somewhere else.Heather L.
