It's a pretty skanky hotel. The Indian gentleman there was not very communicative or helpful.

Clean up the office & put the moving supplies on a shelf instead of the floor in a heap. Staff should look professional instead of dirty. We'll never go to this location again.
BRANDON B.Regional Office gave me the run around. I called Saturday night and reserved this trailer at my location only for the regional to call me Monday morning to tell me I would have to travel 48 miles out of the way to get the trailer. I would suggest that the 1-800 reservation center to know where this equipment is at. I called to cancel the reservation called the other location and they were $200 cheaper for a one way pull and drop. So consistency on prices. This has nothing to do with the pickup or drop off location. There is miscommunication between the 1-800 reservation center and the regional office in Springfield.
LARRY S.I don't live very far from The Home Center which had the size truck I needed, but had to go into Effingham to get truck. Called to see if I could get this changed, but received no help. The person at The Home Center talked to his manager, but he was no help either. I will probably never use U-HAUL again.
BRIAN G.Showed up to a trailer with 2 flat tires and was told by the lady running the Uhaul business to go ahead and take it. We told her thats dangerous, no. She insisted we take it and that if anything happened call for help. We called Uhaul immediately, they sent out a tech. It took 1 hour for him to get there. 1 hour to put 2 tires on. Worst experience of our time with uhaul. I am surprised shes in business.

MARVIN F.We decided after picking up the rental that it would be easier for us to drop off at another location. I called the 1-800 number to see about changing and was told I could not change it. This is an option, for an additional fee of course, that shouldn't be so hard to do, or just not at all.
John A.The employee didn't speak English. She called someone and they went through things on the phone. The woman that didn't speak English gave me the key and never showed me the truck, it didn't have a lock on it for the cargo door. Just not my traditional experience.

We requested 60 moving pads, but the location only had 20 available, which were retrieved from a pile in a very dirty old garage filled with leaves, dust, and junk. There was no alert that we were only going to receive 20, which could have given us time to acquire more elsewhere.

ANTHONY P.Parking space at minimum as located in an “apartmentâ€/old motel complex. When we returned the u haul my husband had to lift the trailer himself and move it out of the way of the vehicles located in the lot while the owner yelled at him. Ease of online reservation was a plus!
Robert L.The drop off location The Paradise Motel is not even open it is deserted and when u walk in the office there is a phone number to call for help with U-Haul. The second drop off location The Days Inn, the man was very rude and dismissive and told us he could only send a check for our deposit after we were told by the office in Chicago that we could get our deposit back in cash, since we paid cash. The last location the Effingham Motel she was sooooo nice and sooooo helpful and we were able to get our $100.00 back

Made a reservation 3 weeks before hand and came time to pick it up at another location i was told they do not have it. Called u haul and they told me effingham has it. But when I got there they did not. The lady helped me and worked things out.

Told me I could drop it off at any Uhaul and assigned a location but when we went to drop it off they didn't accept larger tricks so we had to call Uhaul change drop off time and go to a different location. Plus the radio on the truck didn't work and they didn't tell us that.
