I was sent to drop off to a location that does not offer self check in. I had to wait for a week for them to open and still have not received my deposit. I was very dissatisfied with my entire service.

james nolandDropping off at this location was confusing. There is an El Sol restaurant at 500 Valley Ave. that is adjacent to a large UHaul center. We stopped there first. After realizing our mistake, we continued down the street to 328 Valley Ave. to the correct El Sol location, but we passed a third El Sol at 400 Valley Ave!! The UHaul sign at 328 Valley Ave. is very small...just a little plaque on the building.

Wendy RobinsonThis was by far the worse experience I’ve ever had with Uhaul, in the last 5 moves I’ve done in the last 3 years. Everyone I’ve spoken to through from scheduling and customer service were either incredibly rude or completely unhelpful. My reservation was changed with no notice, and also given away twice. The only saving grace in this episode, was the attendant at El Sol. I believe her name was Lorena. She was so very honest, pleasant, helpful, and very quick. She deserves a bonus. As for the rest of the team of people who were involved from the actual company, need training or to be shown the door. In the event I need to move again, it’s very unlikely I’ll be using Uhaul ever again.

It was not till I called the next day after several phone calls that I got someone and they said they would take care of it but I was concerned. I would certainly not recommend this as a pick up or drop off to anyone.

Benjamin CarterIt was the closest location with the size truck I needed. Because of the location of the truck to my home I was moving from, it added an additional 15 miles to my mileage. When I call the customer service number to try to find a truck closer the girl I spoke with was not helpful and seemed bothered because I asked her to check if there was a closer location.

monica merrittBoth days I attempted drop off, the U-Haul Rep was not available. The people there spoke very little English. I left truck and dolly with the restaurant employees. The disappointing part is that the U-Haul never checked me in upon his/her return. I returned calls and e-mails that my drop-off was late. However, it was not.

Shawn GentleAwful place to pick up. In a Mexican restaurant with no one speaking English. Person in charge was not there when we arrived and had to be called by their employee/waitress. All she wanted when she finally got there was my credit card. I insisted on a contract first and she could not even log into the uhaul site to print it. We had to call regional manager and he told us to take the trailer and he would take care of it. Took us over an hour to finally get trailer after I had reserved and done everything online over 10 days in advance!!! These people DO. NOT need to be a UHaul dealer. I am so thankful I did not send my 21 year old daughter by herself. It was so trashy and was not a place where you would want anyone to be!

RONALD GIBSONthe place i picked the trailer is 528 Valley is a bar and doesnt open till 3pm. The owner gave very poor service and were inconveinced byhelping me hook up the trailer by talking on his cell phone. I would not recomend any one going there, Look for Ryder in Birmingham Al.

MARCIE PRUITTHad to wait over a hour for the only person there that somewhat knew how to rent the equipment to show up and do my rental also upon returning the equipment i had to wait again for 45 mins before she came back before being able to complete the drop off.
LAVORYA ASHLEY BEAVERI had some concerns about this location. The cashier wanted to hold my license and credit card while I went out to get the trailer connected. I did not let them take my credit card, but did let them keep my license. Is there any reason that they would need to hold my license for an extended period of time?
Clyde GibsonEl sol was ok. I've rented many trailers from y'all. They seem new to the procedures. They had the trailer parked with the back open so it had some leaves and sticks in it. They also insisted on holding onto my driver license and credit card wile I went outside and tested the lights. Still they were way better than washie quickie which is where I was supposed to pick up. Washie quickie didn't have the trailer that I reserved online and the person who handles hauls at that location was not even there. If your competition offered trailer rentals, you'd have lost a customer yesterday.

Michael ZahediHorrible, Horrible, Horrible!!!! I wouldn't send anyone to that location and be associated with a U-Haul logo. The location is meek at best. Little English, I'm not Spanish, nor do I speak Spanish. No air conditioning while you wait. We had to wait for someone to come put the tow on the truck. Just very awful, awful, awful. I'm shocked that U-Haul contracts there - it's a club at night??? Really U-Haul???
TAMARA BYRDAlthough marked as a 24 hour drop-off, we still returned during normal hours the next day after renting the trailer. The store was locked up so we left the trailer and then were charged for an extra day although we left it a day early.
Austin SumrallEl Sol is a Mexican restaurant and seems very "shady." I did not feel comfortable at this location. Luckily, my father and brother were with me. I would not go back to this location. The worker was very pleasant, but very hard to understand due to the fact that English was not her first language. Also, she told me that my ALL mileage was included in the price, but when we turned the truck back in, I had to pay extra. My next complaint was that I requested to pick the truck up at a UHAUL location very close to my apartment, but I was told I had to pick the truck up at a location that was at least 20 miles away, then drive it back to the apartment. The so called "30 miles included" were gone by the time the truck got back to my apartment. I was not pleased with UHAUL. I will use another company the next time I move.
KIMBERLY BESECKERThis is our second consecutive year leaving a trailer at this location. We manage to complete the transaction, but it always proves difficult due to language barriers. In this case, a young child had to act as a translator for the woman who was working the customer desk.

JENNIFER BILANG SKEBINGMy contract specified that I was to return the trailer prior to 10:00 am on 3/12/2011. I went to the store at 9:00 am and there was a sign stating that they would not be open until 11:00 am. I left the trailer and came back later to settle and was told that I owed an additional $20.00. I told them the circumstances and after a length telephone call I did not have to pay, but I am concerned about other unsuspecting customers.

TIMOTHY GARNERI was unaware that U-Haul does not allow any of its trailers to be pulled by Ford Explorers because of a set of law suits that stem from 9 or 10 years ago. This caused me great distress during my move as I had to borrow a truck for my move.

PORTIA VERNORI knew this was a bad location but when I called customer service several times they would not move me to another pick up site. I even asked if uhaul would move the truck for me but they said no. lady at pick up site could not speak english. truck was making loud noise afraid of it breaking down
CHERYL MOOREOn July 30, I had the worst experience imaginable regarding a trailer rental. I had made a reservation ( 85003124 ) for a 6x12 enclosed trailer which I planned to use for the full 24 hour period beginning at 6:45pm. I received a call from Josh at the local UHaul store "confirming" my reservation and being sure I would have it back by 12 noon. I told him that was impossible and I never reserved the trailer for that short of a period. He was absolutely no help and said this was my problem, he would not rent the trailer to me unless I returned it by noon and for me to call the toll free number if I wasn't satisfied. I was EXTREMELY upset but called the toll free number. They worked on getting me to another store that had the trailer I wanted. When I showed up at 7pm for the trailer it was not there. The new location in Center Pt Alabama at first did not even show my reservation on the computer. We tried calling several numbers for help while in the store BUT NO ONE ANSWERS THE PHONE.

CHELSEY DUCOTEPickup was originally scheduled for Vestavia hills, went there for a one way rental. The truck was not there, it took at least an hour for the manager to find a truck to give us. Then we had to drive 20 miles to a location that had the truck which is listed on this review.
