ALBERTO MThanks to two very conscientious ladies who made it great to do business at the Country Store. It was a surprise to have to drive from southwest Austin, but we got the truck. I do not have my phone glued to my person at all times and I do not always see messages till later. I prefer a phone call to a text because I hear it.

lacygne cOne of the WORST experiences form a business I've had. I've done business with the General Store for MANY years and they aren't as good as they once were but this U-Haul experience was a nightmare. I setup a 24/7 Share rental so I could pick up the truck, dollies (2 furniture, utility, appliance), and furniture pads) at 7AM (Store not opened until 8). Tight schedule to load and pick up new furniture during a pickup window. Issues: 1) 7:00AM - App couldn't determine my location. Call 1 to U-Haul. Rep. said a problem on their side and he had resolved it. App still not working so rep. said to use the website which I did and location worked there and I got the code that should have been set on the key lockbox outside of the store. 2) 7:15AM Code didn't work. Call 2 to U-Haul. Rep. had me try 5 or 6 other codes, none worked. Rep. cold transferred me to another rep. Explained the situation and while she was looking into it, folks arrived at the store. It is now 7:45AM. I motioned for the lady inside to come to the door and she did with the key in hand. She then proceeded to tell me to pull the truck to the door and they'd load the other rental equipment in it!! When asked why this wasn't all ready at 7AM she replied "I don't know I didn't close last night". About an hour late so missed pickup window. 3) They only gave me 11 furniture covers. I think because the dock workers were too busy talking to each other to count. 4) Appliance dolly handle was bent up so it wouldn't catch against the stop to keep pressure on the strap. It would just spin in circles. We spent a lot of time yanking on the strap to get it tight enough to hold and then more time trying to loosen it. 5) They gave me a normal U-Haul furniture dolly and a wooden piece of junk one that had much smaller wheels that would barley turn on a hard surface and not at all on carpet. The orange U-Haul one worked well. U-Haul confirmed what I expected... it is the General Stores job to setup the key box code and verify that all the equipment works well. I will give U-Haul kudos, however. One of the reps I guess made note that I wasn't happy and I rec'd 3 calls (I answered the 3rd time. CID not showing U-Haul) from a rep. Sat. morning and he gave me a nice credit to my account so I am happy with U-Haul, but will find another business to rent equipment from in the future. I may even see about finding another feed store. I do plan to tell the owner about this the next time I see him since I'm sure he'd like to know.

Percy WApp would not verify correct pickup location after many attempt although enabled location permission on Android phone. App eventually stopped responding. had to use Uhaul website/web browser. Very time-consuming process.

Jennifer TLocation was great. However, I did not appreciate being charged $10 for gas when the needle dropped slightly under the full needle. That was trivial and would look at other competitors other than Uhaul
Mario GFloor boards were dirty. Truck had low tire pressure. Smelled like something was burning while driving, passenger door is difficult to close.
LaRicher PMy only complaint is that I had very few choices for the drop-off. My U-haul storage facility was 35 minutes away and my house was another 45 minutes away
JEFFREY RThe workers are a group of young teens who were busy talking and worrying about the guys in the back I did the new truck share on smartphone and still had to go inside and wait a long time. The dolly I reserved was not in the truck so I had to go back inside and ask for it. Was brought 2 rolling carts instead which was not easy to get over certain areas of my home. I returned the check and again had to wait a long period I was told everything was good to go and they asked if I need a copy of my receipt I declined as I had access to the app. I left my personal w again in the truck so I called and asked them to hold for me to pick up next day. A few hours later both of my contacts were called and told that I didn’t pay and an investigation would be started for theft ect. I was never contacted about this. I returned the next day to get my wagon and nothing regarding payment was brought up. I asked if everything was ok because my account was charged yet my contacts were called. They pulled up my account and said there was an additional $40+ that was needed so I paid it. I will never return or recommend this location to anyone horrible horrible experience!!!

Lloyd DThis was very far from the requested pickup location. Location had wrong fuel marked, truck was very very beat up. Wipers broken, wheel had mud caked on, also it was just far away.
Michael BAs soon as we got into the truck large amounts of dog hair started to fly all over the place. After driving with the windows down trying to fix the hair problem my wife began to have an allergy attack so we had to circle back to my personal vehicle to get towels and cleaning supplies. I’m thinking is just this location because the normal place we go to, he’s always out there detailing the vehicles I will be calling not only about the nasty vehicle but as well as being over charged.
Daniel HMy reservation was “lost” because they didnt have the size i booked Then i took a 15ft and told them i need it for two days and they told me it was ok. Next day at noon they called me asking to bring it back bc they were busy……really? Got called again a couple hours later We returned it that evening, a half day early. Next day they called me AGAIN asking where the truck was. Oh i never checked the lock box today the phone operator said…..wow. What a joke. And i paid over $300 for a day and a half Nice

Nakia JThis review is not for this location. The location itself had nothing wrong with it, but my overall uhaul experience this time was god awful. I originally had my pickup location set not far from my home. Uhaul then decided to change my pickup location to over an hour away from where I live with no notification. When I arrived to the changed location, an HOUR away from my original pickup location, I was informed that the location NO LONGER EXISTED. After driving around Austin in traffic all Thursday evening and sitting on the phone with customer service for an hour, I was then told to pick up the Uhaul from the Elgin location which was an hour in the other direction. I was only given FIFTY DOLLARS for my trouble. Absolutely ridiculous. I’ve never had an experience with uhaul like this before. In my opinion, $50 is not the proper compensation for making me drive well over 140 miles to find the uhaul I ordered.

Samuel MWe ordered moving equipment like boxes and moving blankets with this truck and this location had absolutely nothing there and just cancelled all those items when we got there. It would have been very helpful to find that out well before we had to move the next day.

elena fThe U-Haul was not working properly when we picked it up. We tried to return it, we were told it was operating properly. We kept the U-Haul and called the U-Haul road side assistance. The mechanic was able to fix the issue so we could use it safely. All U-Haul dealers should test drive the unit prior to rental
