To start with there was no jack on the trailer hitch. If the trailer had been parked with something under the front axle, the hitch would have been light however it wasn’t. Therefore, we had to bust our backs to lift hitch, and then the hitch wouldn’t release to go on the ball. So we tried another trailer, which was parked on a slope so that the hitch was even heavier. We almost gave up as we had no tools or equipment to lift the hitch with which was super heavy. Finally got it on then the hitch wouldn’t tighten.! It was seized up. No tools on site so eventually found a tire iron that I could twist the handle with to tighten the lock. Very frustrating and time consuming. On returning the trailer, I brought my own 8 foot 2 x 4 and a block to pry the hitch up with. Super easy. Something to lift the hitch with should be supplied at the agency. Human backs are not meant to lift that kind of weight!! The young attendant at the agency was as helpful as he could be, but had nothing to work with.

KARL KThe 6x12 trailers do not have a Jack to lift the hitch up. If you are not above average you will not be able to lift the trailer hitch in to your bumper. I talked to a manager at u-haul and he can hardly lift one up. SO U-HAUL SHOULD IN STALL HITCH JACKS ON THESE UNITS. !!!
