This is about U-Haul in general, not the pickup location: it’s absolute garbage business practice to make customers purchase their own tire chains to make the vehicles street legal in the winter. Even if they aren’t used because the roads are good that day, most places won’t return them after being purchased and most people don’t have a use for chains in this size after the rental is finished. They should be included or offered as a rental add on like the blankets and dollys.

I had to pick up the rental trailer in the afternoon the day before. The reason was that I was going to have to leave at 6:30 in the morning. The rental place doesn’t open till 9:00. No fault to them. I asked if I could do the paperwork and pay for it, but pick the trailer up from their lot in the morning. They said no because they had to hook up the trailer and check the lights. So I had to take the trailer that afternoon. Not a big problem. It’s just that where I live, there is no parking for a trailer. So I had to park my truck and trailer a block away from my home. It’s wasn’t a big deal. I was just worried about my truck and your trailer. Break inns and vandalism is not to common but has happened in the pass. Other than that. All was fine. I returned the next day by 11:00 p.m. but could not wash it, due to all the car wash were closed. Sorry about that!

This is a separate comment, not related top the service I received. Specifically, I needed a trailer to transport 12 ft long roofing materials. The specifications on the U-haul website claimed the inside dimension to be 12ft 3in. However, when we slid the 12ft pieces into the trailer they stuck out 1.5 inches. We remeasured the roofing and it was indeed 12ft. Luckily my product was flexible so I was able to load and close the doors. However, If I had a rigid product or a large bulky item that was exactly 12ft long I would have been out of luck. I suggest U-haul correct this information as my product wouldn’t fit flat along the floor. The inside dimensions are further reduced for a large bulky item as the tie-down side slats mounted to the side walls probably further reduce the actual inside dimensions by an additional 2 inches per side.

Location is a gem to work with, U-Haul corporate absolutely sucks but their individual local sites are wonderful. I would definitely go back here again but I would also rather either an alternative to U-Haul or a massive improvement to their services outside the local sites.

Easy access. Huge yard to turn around and back into a parking spot. Personal was also great. I forgot hoodie in truck. (slid down in back of middle seat). Staff came in on day off so I could retrieve hoodie. She made my day. Thanks

Location lacks enough trucks and dollies of the various sizes/types, I noticed. Maybe not enough UHaul travellers come to Salmon Arm, BC to leave behind their rental equipment so naturally there are fewer options for customers if they use it as their starting point. Great for drop-offs, though.

The trailer we reserved was not available at the location we selected. We only found out about this an hour before our pick up time so this resulted in us having to drive an additional 2 hours, had we known earlier, we could have picked it up on our way into town. It’s also ridiculous that the shop we picked up from was closed.

The trailer was supposed to be in my town at 9am. Ended up having to pick it up 40 minutes away and miss work for 2 hours as a result . NOT IMPRESSED!

The only comment was that the vehicle came with 1/4 tank of fuel, and since I had to bring it back with the same 1/4 tank, I was not certain how much to add. It would have been better to have it handed over with a full tank to start with, and re-fill to a full tank. As it was, I returned the unit with at 1/2 tank of fuel not 1/4 tank.

U-Haul's mobile services are very frustrating. Picking up and dropping off my vehicle using the app was a nightmare. App works terribly. The only part of my experience I would say was a positive was the 3rd person I finally spoke to on the phone with customer service. She was as helpful as she could be. The rental location was NOT the issue.

A month after my request was made to pick up the truck in Kamloops, and less than 24 hours before my move during my busiest packing hours I was told the only truck they could get me was a 3 hour round trip away. This is unacceptable, and I was not compensated for this incredibly inconvenient oversight. I had to pay for the very expensive fuel for the extra 100km in the truck and the 100kms in my personal vehicle to get the truck from the alternative location in a different city!

Not impressed with pricing ! I rented the same truck in edm $800 , 4 days , 1100klm . I need one to go back to edm and I'm being told $1300 plus tax , 4 days later it's $3500 ! Thank God I had a great uhaul person find me one for alot less , and some tricky fingers with their computer , still not happy they only gave it for 3 days and 800klm ..... Price gouging at its best

When we picked up our truck, it was so dirty we couldn’t take a proper scan of any damages. The truck was fine otherwise but I am worried I’ll be charged a cleaning fee at my drop off location now when it was like that at pick up.

The app kept saying "error has occurred" everytime I tried to log in. I eventually gave up and texted the person helping me and they suggested to try Google Chrome which worked. The app need some serious work. The website also had a few error codes but with a quick refresh it seemed to work.

The back of the truck had grease on it and it got onto our furniture and ended up on the freshly cleaned carpets. Our whole house smells like grease now and possibly one of my kids’ mattresses might need to be thrown out.

The vehicle was clean, however the interior loughts wouldn't turn off while driving which made it very difficult to drive in the dark. The passenger door wouldn't seal completely and I think this is why the light wouldn't shut off while driving. I'm mostly disappointed because this uhaul location charged me a cleaning fee even though I returned the vehicle in the same condition I picked it up. They also massively overcharged me for millage and the response I got was that I had returned it late. I called uhaul every day i had to extend my rental and uhaul gave me permission for the extension. I also left at least $50 extra in gas in the vehicle above what was in it when I picked it up. I don't feel this business is very professiona or ethical in their business practices. I will be filing an official complaint if this issue is not resolved.
