I’ve already called in and filed a complaint, but the manager of this location screamed at my husband and mother in law, refused to take the truck back, and then proceeded to say she would charge us for everything extra possible, and did. This was by far the WORST U-Haul rental from start to finish that we’ve ever had. The Salmon Arm location treatment was as hostile and unpleasant. The mere fact that you have someone who would raise their voice at a customer managing one of your locations is embarrassing. I’m not sure we will rent from you ever again, and unfortunately this experience is something we will be sharing with friends and family. Start to finish this rental was a mess. We requested 60 moving blankets and were told the day before pick up there were only 6 available. We requested a pick up location closer to us, and then the day prior it was moved to 45 mins away. The tires were not what was promised, nor should they be on any vehicle traveling in snow. I’m aware we could have bought chains, however, the tires even for rain were not adequate. Then, the drop off location was changed a minimum of 3 x in 36 hours ranging anywhere from a 20 minute drove, to over an hour each way. If all of your rentals went as this did, I would be surprised if U-Haul was still in business. We’ve had many rentals over the years through you that were more than fantastic. This was the worst experience to date.

Truck was not well maintained. Was 208 kms round trip to pick up equipment. Truck barely made back into town without 4900 lbs of our belongings inside. Replaced at location which I should have been offered 108kms round trip. This after arguing the truck would not make it. Tow dolly caused an accident half way through our journey, which luckily wasn't an injury or worse. Reps in winnipeg not helpful after the incident when I had asked for some extra help with new auto transport. Staff were gone before I even got the trailer hooked up. Overall Nightmare beginning to end.

Have more clear instructions for the various lights on the Ford trucks. It is difficult to determine which lights go out automatically and which ones stay on.

Start making and renting Diesels for the Mountains(west of Canmore, AB) Just have customers sign a waiver for responsibility if they put gasoline in the diesel! You need a engine brake to control The decents of the mountain grades for safety reasons, and as well as the power to pull up the grades.

Again a good experience with the drop off. The local represenitive was helpful & frendly. A note regarding the drop off location- I think the U haul booking department could have done a better job in selecting a closer drop off point. On my way to drop the truck off in Salmon Arm, i drove by another U Haul outlet (Maliquet) that was approximately 1/2 hour closer than the Salmon Arm drop off location selected for me. Overall, this was not a big issue but it would have saved me an hour of my time had I been able to drop it off there.

on-line service was abysmal. Wanted the rental in Salmon Arm and after 5 days was told I'd have to drive hours out of my way to pick up the rental because none were available in Salmon Arm. Driving into Salmon Arm I saw 2 rentals at the u haul dealer. They couldn't understand why I was told none were available and they arranged for me to pick up the rental there.

Female owner (lady behind the counter.) not friendly.She is definitely not customer service oriented.She was also rude to a female customer while I was there.She shouldn't be in any type of a face to face customer situation.I will look elsewhere for a rental next time,not U-Haul from her.Not good for your business.

They were very helpful, and under the circumstances, I didn't have any option what I rented. However the cab of the truck stank of cigarettes, and I had to ride in it all the way to Vancouver like that. I was also forced to pay to rent the vehicle for two days when I only needed it for one day.

The drop off location had absolutetly no helpful information besides “go to website”. My experience with u haul was terrible. I had to speak with 5 different people just to learn the process of renting your trailers. At pick up was when I learned that i needed a an electrical adapter for the hitch. Something 4 other employees failed to mention. Not to mention the first customer rep i talked to in the booking process got every bit of information about my order wrong. I believe his name was Connor. He mumbled and was impossible to understand. The entire process is in no way user friendly, and it seems u haul has designed this process around making their lives easier, not the customer. I will avoid using u haul for the rest of my life because of this experience.

I reserved (online) a trailer in Kelowna but one day before I was to pick it up, I received a phone call telling me I had to drive to Salmon Arm to pick it up. That took 4 hours and 200+ kilometers. Uhaul should be able to manage reservations better than that. Your online system should know if a trailer is available upon reservation.

Left turn signal light was faulty. They jiggled some wires and disconnected / reconnected it and it started working at the pickup location, but it quickly failed again during the trip.
