the trailer was blocked in by 2 feet of snow and 2 inches of ice. the owner didn’t even attempt to clear it out. i had to clear the snow and break the ice myself

Very disappointing experience with U-Haul. I booked a furniture dolly from a U-Haul location, and my reservation was confirmed. However, when I went to pick it up, I was told that the dolly was not available. I was given only two options: either take the truck without the dolly or cancel the reservation altogether. I then contacted U-Haul customer care, hoping for help, but the experience was even worse. The representative was rude and unhelpful and simply told me that if I didn’t receive the equipment, I should cancel the reservation. They clearly stated they would not help resolve the issue. What’s the point of confirming a reservation if the equipment isn’t guaranteed and customer service refuses to assist? This caused unnecessary stress and disrupted my moving plans. Overall, very poor coordination and customer service. I expected much better from a company like U-Haul.

Avery SNo assistance was provided in connecting trailer. The trailer was plowed in with snow and was not cleaned off. I had to work physically dig out and pull the trailer to an area that I could connect it to my vehicle. Then clean all snow off the trailer before driving. Frankly U Haul should reimburse or refund me.

Terry JOn turning into the gas station the truck and trailer hung up on a dip between the road and the driveway gas station, causing a traffic jam. Fortunately two people from a boat repair shop across the street helped free the truck and trailer. The guy who was to receive the U-Haul equipment was no help at all.

HECTOR VTried to find the key for 45 minutes. When the customer service rep reached out to the location employee, he comes out complaining to me why I didn’t go searching for him when the station was visibly closed (no lights on, cones at the pumps). There was trash all around the parking lot. The truck had an exhaust leak which filled the cab of the vehicle with exhaust, in 55 degrees and rain I had to drive with the window down. I was told for my time being wasted standing in the rain for 45 minutes searching through lockboxes I would be given the $50 guarantee reimbursement that didn’t happen either. That’s really disappointing, I understand why people are steering clear of U-Haul more and more these days.

Luteher MPrevious renter spilled coffee or soda on center of dash and in cup holders as well as on the jumper seat. It’s was very sticky and neither could be used. Vehicle sounded like the engine hasn’t ever been maintained and the front end and steering were scary to drive.
Matthew TThe truck I was given needs work. When I first got it, it didn’t want to start and then did not want to back up right away. It had a check engine light on the dash. It said traction control/ engine power is reduced. It felt like it was going to break down in town while stopping at the lights unless I put it in neutral. It jerked hard at times like the transmission was bad and didn’t want to start after I got gas. It sounded like something was maybe scrapping (metal) not sure if it was just the truck itself. Overall, it felt like truck didn’t want to move, like I was dragging something heavy. I’m sure it is going to leave someone stranded soon.
