I was switched to this location, which is outside of my usual neighbourhood, because of availability. The location is fine but it's obscure. The office is in a computer repair store in a mid-size open shopping mall. There is no obvious U-Haul signage, just a small sign in the window which is just one of many small, product, and service signs. The truck is in the back of the mall so there are no visual clues that you're in the right place. Otherwise, fine. I would recommend the location to a friend along with fairly detailed directions.

The whole drop off situation was less than ideal. The 2 places we went were closed and had to drive 30 minutes away. Drop off was late and we were charged even though I called to say we had problems. Also we booked to return later and the app showed it much earlier in the day. I want my money back for the extra day you charged. The customer service assured me the charge would be waived. I have a call into customer service. They said I would hear back in three days and it’s been more than that.

I had an extremely disappointing uhaul experience, and I am currently waiting for a refund. - day before my reservation, I am informed that my pick up location has been moved to a location significantly further away from my home - so I had to pay money to take an uber to this further location - when I arrive at the pick up location, the uhaul employees could not find a key for the car I was supposed to rent - after waiting 45 minutes, this location then sends me to a second location to pick up the car - AGAIN I had to pay money to take an uber to this new location - Finally got a truck at this new location, but the truck was dirty (garbage on the floor), smelled of cigarettes, and the doors barely worked. The driver and passenger door had to be slammed several times until they shut properly - Once I finally got to my home to load up the truck, I had the emergency lights on for about 20 minutes while loading. When I went to start the car, the battery had died and it would not start. - I had to wait 45 minutes for a uhaul provided service to boost the vehicle I paid uhaul for a service to provide me with a clean and working vehicle at the time I had scheduled. The vehicle provided was in poor condition, getting my vehicle was severely delayed, and overall the customer service was lackluster and frustrating. Plus it cost me extra money to transit to new locations. At the end of the day, I am extremely disappointed with my uhaul experience. I am expecting a full refund on

1. The name of the store, as advertised via U-Haul rental is not, in fact, the name of the store. It was very confusing to find the storefront in the plaza at night. 2. The pads, as ordered, where not in the truck - which was disappointing 3. The express check-in via phone, is actually a bit more complicated than advertised. Confusing to know at the onset, if the mobile app is required - or just the website. I checked in via the app, as I was instructed to do so via email only to realize that I still needed to do all the same things and more via the website - afterwards. This was frustrating, as the instructions are not clear and concise.

Unable to get the hold of any staff in this location for inquiry. This location overcharges me for fuel when I actually filled up the tank back to the line. I need to call head office customer service to look into the issue. Photo was forwarded and is currently under review. This issue is still outstanding.

I tried my best to estimate the fuel cost based on the mileage and estimated usage displayed on the instrument cluster. At less than 20K I pumped in just over 5 liters of fuel and still got dinged for an additional 7 liters on the bill at over $2/liter. Don't think I used 12 liters of gas! Otherwise the overall experience was a good one.

The young man was very nice. The van was dirty with garbage and food on the floor from Harvey’s. There was some sticky debris on the dashboard and steering wheel. I had my own sanitizer and had to sanitize as he said it was uhaul I had to contact and I was pressed for time and it was pouring rain. My cc has insurance on it and he added it when I said no thank you. When I brought this to his attention the next day upon return he said he could not do anything about this and I had to contact uhaul.

Better customer service. Person at this location totally left me waiting in the midst of serving me to converse with someone he knows who came into store; shameful. Make sure vehicle is thoroughly cleaned out for next customers use. I filled vehicle with gas to a little over what I received it at. Why was my credit card charged an addition $18 plus? I obviously will not rent from Uhaul again nor will I recommend this company.

Worst experience of my life given I was moving to a new city. U-Haul moved my reservation from downtown Toronto to Scarborough, and on top of that the pick-up time was three hours later than I'd booked - it affected every single other vendor, rocketed my stress level, and almost threw all of my move off the chart. Would never rent from U-Haul again.

Signage for store is terrible. Took me 20 mins to find it. No follow up after I dropped off car. Had to call customer service to get my closing invoice. When I checked my U-Haul account the truck was still labelled as dispatched under my name 4 days later, after I had returned it.

I booked the 24/7 pickup service, and the instructions told me to go to the location at 10AM. When I arrived at the location, I was told I had to wait until the venue opened at 10:30AM for hand delivery. This messed up my schedule and could have been disastrous if the time difference was greater. I did not get the service I paid for, and I will never use U-Haul again.

The clerk clearly doesn't know how to do the job. He works very slowly and continually calls U-Haul customer service for guidance. The first time I picked up a van from this location, the clerk's bumbling cut into my rental time by 15 minutes. The second time, it took him 10 minutes on the phone with customer service before he could tell me that my van hadn't been returned by the previous customer, and that he didn't have another van to give me. It emerged that the previous van's return deadline had been over 3 hours earlier but it had never occurred to the clerk to call someone at U-Haul to secure another van for me, or to call me and tell me there was a problem. Then, with me standing at the counter needing a van at the time he was supposed to provide me with a van, the clerk didn't do anything to try and get me a van. Instead he made excuses about why this wasn't his fault, and advised me to call U-Haul customer service and get credit on my next rental. That's a completely unacceptable level of service. When I rent a van, I want a van, not excuses, and I want you to deal with any problems that arise, not tell me to deal with them myself. Your focus should be on providing the customer what your company promised him, and if you don't think that's your responsibility, you shouldn't be a U-Haul dealer.

The trucks battery died even though we did not use any electrical equipment in the truck during unloading. at the destination and we had to wait on road for 2 hrs. This was my first time renting a uhaul truck and my experience was very bad. Would not recommend to anyone.

I have used another location for my u-Haul needs in the past but because the size of the vehicle I needed was not available, I was directed online to the Birchmount outlet. I was to pick up the van at 2:00. It did not arrive on site until 2:30 and was not cleaned prior to my use. Absolutely NO questions concerning COVID-19 were asked of me either online or in person. When I was told that the van was ready for me I asked if it had been cleaned and wiped down for possible COVID exposure. I was told that "we don't have any supplies for that". Eighteen months into the pandemic and no supplies were available? Not appropriate. To make matters worse, there were used tissues just under the passenger seat that were clearly visible from the driver's seat as soon as I entered the van. Also, there was no odometer reading, and no indication as to how to adjust the side mirrors. Although the van I had ordered had not been returned to the site until 30 minutes after the guaranteed pick-up time, there was a 10-foot van on site. I was told I could use it but would have to pay the additional fees for the larger size. It was not booked for the day. No remuneration was going to be granted for the inconvenience to me, even after having spoken to the manager and customer service. I have had nothing but positive experience with u-Haul at the Gerrard Street location in Toronto and am extremely disappointed with the service at this Birchmount outlet and "who cares" attitude.

Office opened an hour later than advertised. Location's signage was also different from the name on the U-haul site - actual location sign is 'chatr mobile'. Employee was friendly and apologetic but it was still a pain in the ass. Ended up getting the van two hours later than planned due to wasted time trying to find the place and get help from U-haul customer service.

The location had nothing to do with the issue. The guy there was friendly and courteous. He did his best. The problem is the business of UHaul. Your site let me book a large truck and then when it would be too late for me to find a different company with the same size you called and changed my truck size by 10 feet. From a 26 to 15 foot, with only a week or so before my move, and after I had booked movers already. So now I have to make additional trips with my SUV and waste time, gas, mileage on my car, not have professional movers on hand and waste days driving since I’m moving to Ottawa from Toronto. It’s insane how badly U-Haul works. My equipment was clean, but I also booked 2 dollys, and a utility dolly, and 48 blankets. I got a dolly and 16 blankets. And so I emailed about that and uhaul said to talk to the office at check in, they would fix it.

The truck share app needs to be amended. I got half way through and it would not let me continue. When it finally did, I got right to the end and it said 'see retailer for key box code' The guy in the store was new and new nothing about it, Ended up texting support help in Arizona and finally got the keys. Took just over an hour in the sweltering Toronto heat.

Location had nothing to do with it as the agent was excellent. It was the process through U-Haul that was awful. Took us 30 minutes to get the keys due to your website not giving us a code for the lock box. The online representative was not helpful and it was extremely frustrating. Please get an app that is helpful and creates a smooth user experiencing.
