Experience caused substantial delay. The mobile check in process crashed 3 times, I waited for 25 minutes calling in to the 1800 number without an answer, and the dolly I reserved was not in the truck nor was I able to get one from the gas station attendant. I was forced to wait until the following morning to rent a dolly at a different location and was charged for the origional dolly I never received. This was the worst experience I have ever had with a rental truck and will never use Uhaul again.Michael A.

When I arrived at 9AM on 10/29/2020, a teenager was the one who rented me the 6x12 trailer and told me to hook it up and drive around to the front so he can take a picture. As I'm connecting it, he comes out and says he has to do the chains for me. He did not connect them properly, they were literally dragging the ground and the rubber latches were left unsecure. The trailers lighting wire extension was ripped to shreds but luckily my truck wiring is long enough. He took the broken extension with him. 2nd, the brake fluid was missing the cap but the rubber gasket was still there and looked like fluid was full and uncontaminated. I had to take the cap off of another trailer, a car hauler. He didnt check the lights either, I had to ask him to go to the back and check them while I operated them. They should not let customers hook up trailers. It is very dangerous but it was a good thing I knew how because I'm not sure he'd even be able to lift it onto the hitch. Dont get me wrong, he was very nice. The owner of the store shouldn't put him in that position. When I returned the trailer at 8AM on 10/31/2020. I went into the store and the owner told me to unhook it and go, he will take care of it. He didn't offer to unhook or inspect. So, I'm not even sure yet if he put it in the system that it was returned and returned early. Thank you.Derek D.

There are cats living in and around the equipment and feces everywhere. The trailer that I rent had red clay mud in it that had to be cleaned out prior to putting my furniture on it. I had to hook up the trailer by myself and then wait on them to come take a picture. All around bad experience!JAMES A.

I originally had a trailer rental pickup from a rock Hill location, but due to a previous customer who rented the trailer and was late on their return I had to pick up at another location. The difference was a 45 minute drive instead of a 10 minute drive, so I wouldn't have considered this if I knew that change would've occurred. By the time I found out it was too late for me to consider other options. I will say I appreciated the owner of the Exxon being really nice, helping me hook up the trailer without me asking, and helping me check my lights!Steve B.

Double check that the equipment is ready for rental. I got to the location where I was picking up furniture to find 50 blankets in the back of the trailer. I returned to the Uhaul location after I loaded my furniture to return the blankets. Just added inconvenience.Deborah F.
I absolutely would come back to this location for an in-person rental. The 24/7 process was a pain and we didn't have good phone reception there - too much hassle - too many documents and not happy about sending them via the internet due to security concerns. Very happy with the in-person rental though. The people at this location were GREAT!Darcy C.

Just like last time it was a shit show. At pick up location the guy didnt have anything ready. Didnt inspect anything or look at the car hauler after i had to hook up myself. Only to find out while on the road at night the trailer had no running lights. I also ordered boxes but when i got there he said he didnt have any. At drop off point location had no network or cell service to do the check in myself. You people should just send me trucks to rent out since anyone can do it apparently. Atleast id make sure equipment was safe and of dot standards. You would think a corporate company like this would actually go to these location and make sure these people are able to rent things and can be held to some standard.Jonny E.

I got there at 8.30 am. The paperwork showed 8 am, which meant I had to return it early. Not good. Then I said I wanted the insurance and he said OKAY, but before I left I noticed that the insurance didnt show on my paperwork, so I had to go back inside and do more paperwork. Inconvenient. Typical problems that could have been avoided by him looking over the paperwork. And I had to hookup the trailer by myself. Which wasnt easy by myself. It was heavy. He should have offered to help.John P.

I reserved a 6x12 open trailer for a 7am pick-up. I arrived at the store and was told they had no reservations. He found my reservation at a location in Charlotte. He told me that he had a trailer available. After doing the paperwork I went to get the trailer only to find out it was an enclosed trailer. By this point I figured I would make it work. Unfortunately it was too short for my needs and I was unable to use it. At 930 I received a phone call for the charlotte location telling me they were sorry about not being open until 9am and unavailable for my requested 7am pickup. I told her my reservation was for Clover and she said no one in Clover opens at 7. I told her they did and I got a trailer, just not the one I reserved, I needed the open one. She stated she had an open trailer, but it was a 5x8, not 6x12. She then asked if I wanted her to cancel that reservation? Yes, cancel it, that was a dumb question. I will never reserve anything from Uhaul again. I do not understand how you can reserve something for one location and your reservation ends up 20 miles away, and that location does not even have what you reserved.Alyson K.

I r ented the truck at 9am put a deposit down with 40 miles I returned the truck at 12:30 same day using 61 miles so I think the fees were a little too much for 3 hrs and I even filled it back up first time renting a uhaul and dont think I will again for the priceRita G.

I had to go out of the way approx. (30 miles) to get this truck from Clover because a customer did not bring the truck back in a timely manner that I was to get from the Rock Hill location. I ordered the truck weeks in advance and was notified all was in order until I go to the HWY 5 location on 11/29. Not a good experience!!!Vitanza G.

I picked up the 20 ft truck, the check in process was fine, From there it all went South. I ordered an appliance Dolley. Was not available and never told ahead of time. Then the moving blankets were on the ground outside in the back of the building (out of their bags) thrown in a pile for me to pick up and put in the truck. Owner of gas station / rental counter just walks away. Sad.....I then open the truck and there is oil on the floor in several areas and the pull out ramp was covered in oil. I showedthe owner / rental attendant the problem, he says it's water. It was clearly old brown oil. I get home to move our home and spent an hour cleaning the ramp, and cargo bed, then put plastic and paper down in the bed of the entire truck to protect our items from that garbage. The cab of the truck had a heavy oil and gas smell. This was very poor on the delivery end and no one checked the vehicle for my rental for cleanliness. I was lied to about the oil but needed the truck to move as I was in a bind and time issue Sunday to move. I saw the sign about a $25.00 charge if the cargo hold wasn't clean or blankets not folded. This obviously was missed big time or no one really cared which is most likely the story / reason. This was an awful experience all the way around.Daniel B.
