I'd recommend the Exxon location in Jacksonville, though my overall experience with the process wasn't great. The staff member who helped me at Exxon gave me excellent service — my complaint isn't with him, but with U-Haul's process itself. I made a truck reservation about two weeks ahead of time. When booking a one-way move from Jacksonville to Tampa, the system only offered four eligible pickup locations. But when I arrived, I discovered my reservation had been switched to a different location without any notice. I don't understand why the change happened, but what really bothers me is that U-Haul never called to give me a heads-up — something like, 'Sorry Mr. , we need to move your pickup location because of an issue.' Instead, I only found out about the change when I showed up. That lack of communication is where U-Haul really dropped the ball.

My issue wasn’t with the location. Rather, the app. I set it up the day before. But, picking it up took over two hours. First app issues, then they gave me a different truck than on the order. They did not have my appliance dolly. The wasted hours, then rain, put us way behind schedule. Couldn’t use the truck til the next day. We called, to let them know that I would be late. Somehow, my $39 rental turned into $500. I even filled it with more gas than it had originally. But, got charged anyway. Supposedly, the cost factor was mileage. I think it still had me under the first truck. Because there is no way I drove 300 miles. I am not happy and have spent more that it would have cost me to have just hired movers
STUART CReserved a U-Haul truck and was contacted for a free upgrade to a larger truck.I accepted the upgrade and showed up to find the location didn’t know I had a truck rental at all. They sent me 7 miles down away so now I’ve paid for 2- uber rides. 2 hour delay. This location help completed the rental but the truck was not clean and the check engine light came on about 5hours into the trip. Luckily nothing major. The starting gas was 1/8th of a tank. I dropped truck off at the destination with 1/4 tank and same cleanliness. I was charged additional $25 cleaning fee and $25 more for gas. Terrible experience and the last time I’ll use it.

Thomas KNo requested dolly, rude workers who I had to call 36 (yes, 36) times to get them to actually close my uhual rental window. Worker of the gas station snatched the keys and insisted I didn’t have to do any of my checkout protocol in app (taking pictures, dropping keys in box) and said he would close the rental window, but I woke up this morning and the app said I still had the uhual. Insanely unprofessional, yelling at consumers, never using this location again this was hell.

The rental location didn’t have the dolly I needed, and instead of just leaving me to figure it out, he stepped in and handled it with professionalism and urgency. I had to put extra miles on the truck searching for one, but Víctor stayed involved, made sure I was taken care of, and turned a frustrating experience into a manageable one. His commitment to customer service and willingness to go the extra mile truly stood out. Highly appreciated and strongly recommended.
Yilban MTo improve: Need more equipment options, truck engine light was on so please make sure equipment is in good condition. This was not a problem for this project but it could have been an issue. The location is great for me and easy access to equipment. Gas station has food, drinks and snacks which is an added plus.

Russell JWhen we picked the dolly up it had a rub hole in the finder I think that should have been replaced before it was rented out again. The app wasn’t very friendly on our end I wasn’t able to upload photos at the pickup location. I took them with my phone camera instead and I kept them in case there was any issue with the company at drop off.
Kasi WIts a ExxonMobil gas station and the attendant didn't seem to care I was returning equipment. Didn't check it in didn't even look at it. I requested a check in receipt and was told I would get an email. We'll I got an email receipt and was billed an additional $30 for late drop off when it sat on the lot for 3 days prior

REBECCA GNice people but they're new to renting and there's still a bit of disconnect / double entry between reserving on the website and the additional information they need from you in an oddly informal manner. Calling the manager, waiting for him to decide to call the employee back, and passing information through WhatsApp isn't an experience that builds confidence, but in the end the charges were correct and there was no issue.
