CASEY LNo attendant present (even though the location was open and I was told there would be an attendant there) and had to complete pickup by phone, which took a while. Also, the phone app was super buggy on my motorola and kept crashing/logging me out/not letting me advance to the next page so I had to use my wife's phone to complete. The remote pickup wasn't a huge issue honestly, the bigger issue was that uhaul's app was really bad and forced me to call, and the customer service rep told me I'd be able to get help from an attendant but then I had to end up calling over the phone (if I'd known it was a remote pickup I would've been more prepared).

Gregory MThe location was average; however, the pickup coordination was unacceptable. We made arrangements to pick up 20-foot truck over three weeks before our move. The day before our move, we were told to go to a different location due to the previous location not having the scheduled vehicle. Our pickup time was scheduled for 8 am and we had movers scheduled for 9 am. When we arrived to pick up the vehicle, the truck we were told it was not available and we needed to go to another location to get a 26-foot truck, which was not what we scheduled and was too large for a cross-state move for a two-bedroom apartment. After speaking with another representative, we were told the 20-foot truck was available at the second location; however, we would have to wait an hour until the store opened in order to get it, because they had failed to put the keys in the remote pickup box the day prior as promised. We got the truck after they opened after 9 am. This put us behind with our scheduled movers who were billing us $150 an hour per person. Due to starting at 9:30 am instead of 9 am as scheduled, we were charged for the 30-minute delay of $225 (for three workers). UHaul only authorized a $50 refund for the inconvenience. We were scheduled to have the truck for 4 days: however, we only needed it for 2 days. We received the truck on June 28th at 9:15 am and returned it on June 30th at 12:45 pm. We were told since it was returned to a different location, we could not receive a refund for the extra day(s). A policy was not clearly advertised; especially, since your policy allows for early cancellations. Also, we had rented a dozen blankets for the move and were told that they showed we were responsible for 14 blankets; however, we only returned 11 and 3 were damaged. Unfortunately, we did not count them; however, we are certain we did not damage any. Because of this assertion, UHaul attempted to charge my American Express card without any communication or authorization, so I disapproved the charge, which initiated a fraud alert on my card. American Express cancelled my card for safety reason and reissued me a new card; however, due to the fact that I was out of town, I did not have access to my card again until I returned home several days later. When I contacted UHaul after this, I discovered the $40 charge and the hold on my account for payment. When I mentioned I was expecting a refund for returning the truck early, that is when I was told about the out of state return policy of no refund. Fortunately, I had my Visa to pay the unacceptable $40 fee. As you can see, I was out an additional $225 for delayed accessibility to my scheduled truck, $40 for questionable damage and missing blankets, and payment for unused day(s) for truck, while only receiving a meager $50 refund. As a retired military officer, retired chief of police, current City Manager, and father of two college and graduate students, we have had the need for and utilized UHaul on many occasions with good results; however, I must say this experience has been extremely disappointing and unreasonably more expensive due to errors on UHaul’s part.
Marvin WUHaul changed other details about my reservation when I called to change it, despite me being very clear that only the date, and no other details needed to change. So instead of walking two blocks from my house for pickup, I had to take a $30 Lyft instead. When I arrived for pickup, despite having a confirmation text from checking in, UHaul had totally lost my reservation, and I had to do the paperwork at the counter all over again. I gave this location 4/5 stars - the auto body people were so nice and helpful in helping me get another reservation, but this place is in a sketchy part of town that I felt a little uncomfortable dropping off with no one around so early in the morning. Please also fix this truck. The radio doesn’t work, and the side mirrors are rusted in place so can’t be adjusted. Also, the dash board comically fell open after every bump. Overall: UHaul needs to do better, truck was janky, but pickup people were very good.
Samantha DIt was difficul to get to the trailer with the size vehicle i had rented. Also the light turn indicator and 4 way lights on the trailer only worked sporatically so that didn't bring a lot of confidence. Also the time to pick up the trailer was at 8 15 and the shop didn't offically open till 9 so that was a frustrating start to a very long day.

James WNumber 1 I work 10-12 hours a day leaving no real time for personal business. I made a reservation for 8pm. So, I got off early to accommodate this reservation. I didn't actually get into a vehicle two locations later until after 9pm. 2929 Washington Blvd location ruined my night completely. I had to pay people to help me who also took off work to assist me to show up to the location and they hang set my vehicle up with a lock box. The customer service person definitely came through but I still want my $50 for this botched reservation. I wish I qualified for double having to run around to another location taking me out of my way.

James TI'd suggest changing the location of parking for the trucks, and doing weekly mirror adjustments. I say this because I put $20-$25 of gas in the U-Haul putting the tank literally right below the notch I got it at (a dollar or two more would've put it where it needed to be) but because the U-Hauls are parked on a hill, while doing check out it looked like it was two/three notches from where it needed to be. My second suggestion would be moving the mirrors weekly or greasing their "joints". I say this because the mirrors were extremely hard to adjust, which is a safety risk while driving. Out side of those two things service was amazing, the location was extremely sweet and made sure I had everything I needed for a successful check in, one of the young ladies there helped me reschedule my appointment time when I was stressed about not being able to make it on time and even extended the time I asked for by an extra 30 minutes just in case. The truck was clean and gave little to no issue's outside of the mirror, the truck latch was a bit hard to open. Outside of parking and the mirrors I'd 100% recommend this location to everyone I know.
Princess RTruck had almost no fuel in it. The Uhaul app is horrible. It frequently craps out, 404s, just all around a garbage app. I was given the wrong password to the box as well, so I had to stand aroubd in the rain and call people. It was much more stressful than it needed to be.

Ezekiel MThe vacuums for the car cleaning are in the middle of the lot which can make getting into and out of parking spaces with a larger truck difficult. The truck had blankets and a dolly. I already had these items so I specifically did not reserve them. They were significantly in the way loading the truck and I could remove them without getting charged for using them. They were a huge pain and majorly in the way.

I was directed to pickup at a different location from Hanover Md. when I called I couldn’t change it. The pickup location staff and place was great. Just not the online reservation change.

VANESSA KI was scammed I was suppose to take truck back Saturday and they were closed. No one ever made not one attempt to call me just came straight here then called asking for key. That is scamming. Same way he called to ask for key he could have called and asked for truck.
Ashley DThe 6x12 cargo trailer worked out great. The only issue is it had a leak. When I arrived to my destination a lot of the bottom of my boxes were wet. I did report this issue when I dropped trailer off so it can be repaired before it goes back out. I've had some really great experiences with U-haul services.

Abiodn OOnly thing I wish is that the verification message last at least 12 hours. As soon as I left with the uhaul I started moving. There was no wait time. I saw the message but I figured that I could take care of it when I stopped and that wasn't until I was done. And by then I had missed the verification. But beyond that I was very satisfied.
SASHA ATruck was not clean. Drink had been spilled in the cab and the cab had not been vacuumed in a very long time.

Olabode LSelected 24/7 option so I can pick up the van without human interaction. Get to the location and I'm not allowed to use it. So had to go inside and converse with an employee who charged me right there instead of when I returned the van. And on top of that I chose the no insurance add on to the policy but they still charged me for it and said there's no option to remove the insurance. Its mandatory. But online theres an option to remove it and I did before I confirmed it. When we returned the van we had to return the key but the store door was locked. And the key wouldn't fit inside of the key box so knocked on the window to show employee we have the key to return. She just gave us a dirty look and used her eyes to show us a slot in the door to slide it through.
Joshua WPlease have the headlights checked and replaced. They are very dim, even with high beams on. It was difficult to see with driving after dark.
