NATHANIEL AI recently rented a U-Haul and while the overall experience was decent, I think there’s one area that could really use some improvement: clarity around pickup locations. When booking, I selected a preferred pickup location close to home, assuming that’s where I’d be picking up the truck. However, I wasn’t notified at all that the actual pickup location was across town. I had to call customer service because all I saw online was that a truck had not been arranged for me - 15 minutes before I was supposed to pick it up. This meant I had to drive a significant distance just to get the truck and then return it, using up a large portion of kilometers before even starting the actual move. It would be really helpful if U-Haul could make it more clear during the booking process that your selected location is not guaranteed, and that the confirmed location may involve additional travel—and cost. A little more transparency upfront would go a long way in helping customers plan and budget more effectively.

Luis CTook too long to pick up my reservation and was overcharged at drop off. Check engine light was on with no resolution made by staff. I was quoted that I have roadside. Had to make multiple calls to head office to rectify the errors and poor customer experience made by this location. U-Haul itself was great. This location needs proper training in customer service and integrity.
WAYNE ATerrible experience. Door was faulty and wouldn’t close. Had to call for a service provider and waited in the heat for 4 hours. Will not use again and never recommend UHaul to anyone.
WILSON LCharged me over and above the quoted price should have been $1.09 per mile but I was charged $1.75 per mile. The other charges seemed proper.

Simao AMy u-haul was postponed twice in one day, and then 9 mins before I was supposed to pick it up I got a call saying that I needed to go to another location that was another 10km away because they didn’t have anyone at that location. Not impressed at all with the service.

Mrs LSuggestion: kindly place the unit number as it appears on the key, on the drivers side door in LARGE letters!!! It's now printed at the bottom of the back fender which is unacceptable!!! I spent 5 minutes to find it & l had to check 3 of 10 foot trucks that were on the same lot!!
len gU-Haul pick up location in a busy gas station. I had to wait for all the gas station customers first before being served very frustrating especially with lottery customers. I felt like a second class citizen! If you want a U-Haul you have to wait your turn plus everyone else's turn - very poor service!

Andrew WIt was at a gas station for pick up of the truck and not the original UHaul I had requested. It was much further out from the house. The store was clean and neat. I had done all the online pre-approval but the store owner had me redo everything with him in person. I had to wait for him to log into the computer and website while he attended to clients of the gas station. Once I received the keys, I went to get into truck and it was blocked by another one. I had to walk back to the store and get the owner to move the truck blocking mine so I could exit. It wasn't the worst experience as the owner was pleasant. It just delayed my timeline.

Leslie BTruck had broken plastic in the back. Sent check in to wrong number even though agent texted me to get form to add driver's license. Inflated initial gas gauge was refunded when I provided photographic proof.

EDGAR HI was left with the impression neither Uhaul or the franchise was interested in getting or retailing my business. I had to fight to get my temporary accepted because it didn't fit easily into your electronic system. Your area manager was a great help. Move the 20 ft trucks out of the corporate office downtown and make them available at the franchises. If I have to pay for mileage adding 50 km adds a fair amount of additional cost. The checkout process is awkward the check out should be at the end. I handed in the key and had no idea of the electronic check in. When I asked don't you want the mileage I was told no. There was no reminder of the check in. I had to go back two hours later and I was not well received. The truck has 127,000 miles and is worn out. It needs paint and a complete refit at 100,000 miles. It reminded me of the "we don't care as long as we make money" attitude in days gone by that lead to all the Uhaul lawsuits. As a result I would not recommend U haul. I would recommend Enterprise. The cost is the same and the veh comes with free mileage.

Iraj EIf there is a way to have a fuel Slide for litres for vehicles in Canada. I tried to convert the amount of fuel I needed for just over half. Mr google calculation came to 76 litres. After fueling the tank gauge showed full. Uhaul was the winner on this one. Otherwise a good experience. The cargo door was very stiff to open. Maybe needs some grease on the slides so the door opens with greater ease.
Sandra ASteering was loose and pulled to the left. Roof leaked, top right at the front, fortunately it didn’t ruin the table and clothing. When driving sounded like something was loose on the roof
