GLEN RI confirmed my reservation at a different site and only discovered on the morning of the rental that you had changed my pickup location. I tried desperately to reach someone by phone or text, but could not find any way to call a human and waited for 20 minutes in an online chat queue for a love agent who never came online (this occurred after 8 am PDT). This change on your end forced me to drive at least an additional ten miles with the rental, shuttling back and forth to the new location from my home. Also, I opted for contactless pickup, but when I completed the absurd process of checking in using the app shortly after 9 am as I had reserved, the app instructions told me to go into the office, which was closed until 10:30. There was no option to use a lock box for the key as there should have been. There was a sheet of paper taped to the office door with a phone number that did not even have the name of the business on it and went straight to voicemail. Thankfully a very nice employee named Brandon was working in the back of the connected warehouse and came out to help me get the van, but the entire process was a complete disaster. I have submitted a complaint and was informed by email that I would hear from someone within three business days. So far I have not heard from anyone.
Lisa OUse the Alameda location on Santa Clara rather than bait-and-switch during the reservation process. At the least, allow the customer to drop off at the Alameda location without penalty.

Brandon TDon't do business here. The rude lady in the front desk charged my card an extra $100.78 and when I tried calling they won't answer. Luckily I'm disputing the charge with my bank and I have the receipt for proof. If you go in there and see how they run their business you'd see how sketchy they are but I thought I could still trust them and I was wrong. If you use their service be sure to keep an eye out on all transactions for a while because they will charge you days later with the exact amount charged before. It's sad because I know I'm probably not the only one they do this too, and I'm sure there are other people getting scammed by Firsthand Moving LLC.
RICHIE RUnfortunately, I can't give an average + review. We didn't get the dolly (I guess you get it inside - didn't know). The gas wasn't accurate and the mileage was 40 miles off (to U-Haul's advantage). My fault I didn't pics to the link they provide in time but did take picture with 20 minutes of leaving the facility and called to make the office aware. Returned the truck (added 1 day) and explained to the person in the office. Wrote everything down - showed pictures and was assured it would be adjusted. Got a close out receipt which was for the original quote. 7 days later get a receipt without any adjustments. About to call their customer service and go through the WHOLE thing again.

NIKO DThe front desk person was not unprofessional but not pleasant. The cargo van we rented was dirty- dog hair everywhere. The tires were not balanced all showed different tire pressure. There was a dolly in van which we did not request which caused damage to the items we transported. The vibration of this location is low. Lets keep in mind customer service standards have dropped significantly due to Covid. This is the new standard subpar customer service. Especially, in Oakland.

JAMES KManagement has been notified of the improper installation of the hitch which almost caused an accident on 880. The agent did not put the clip, in to secure it therefore my trailer detached in rush-hour traffic. My hitch was lying in the middle of the highway and highway patrol found the steel pin and reattached it, and put the clip in as it should have been done in the first place. Police were involved and I also contacted U-Haul roadside support. I have been an a loyal customer of U-Haul and drove a trailer across the country without incident. I’m awaiting to receive compensation for this but also, more than anything, U-Haul should make sure that all of the employees are trained on installing hitches because someone could’ve lost their life during this debacle. This was a very unfortunate situation, and I feel terrible that this agent may get in trouble, but hopefully she will instead receive proper training and support

KIRK ZYou charged my card illegally. First for $44.93 and then without my approval charged me $70.41. If I don’t get the $70.41 reversed by tomorrow morning, I will charge you for fraud.
ENITAN AStaff were ultra nice. Location was difficult with all the pallets and forklifts in street from business next door. Trailer was in very good condition. 800 mile haul was easy. Tracked beautifully with ease and no issues.
