Unfortunately, I can't give an average + review. We didn't get the dolly (I guess you get it inside - didn't know). The gas wasn't accurate and the mileage was 40 miles off (to U-Haul's advantage). My fault I didn't pics to the link they provide in time but did take picture with 20 minutes of leaving the facility and called to make the office aware. Returned the truck (added 1 day) and explained to the person in the office. Wrote everything down - showed pictures and was assured it would be adjusted. Got a close out receipt which was for the original quote. 7 days later get a receipt without any adjustments. About to call their customer service and go through the WHOLE thing again.

NIKO DThe front desk person was not unprofessional but not pleasant. The cargo van we rented was dirty- dog hair everywhere. The tires were not balanced all showed different tire pressure. There was a dolly in van which we did not request which caused damage to the items we transported. The vibration of this location is low. Lets keep in mind customer service standards have dropped significantly due to Covid. This is the new standard subpar customer service. Especially, in Oakland.

JAMES KManagement has been notified of the improper installation of the hitch which almost caused an accident on 880. The agent did not put the clip, in to secure it therefore my trailer detached in rush-hour traffic. My hitch was lying in the middle of the highway and highway patrol found the steel pin and reattached it, and put the clip in as it should have been done in the first place. Police were involved and I also contacted U-Haul roadside support. I have been an a loyal customer of U-Haul and drove a trailer across the country without incident. I’m awaiting to receive compensation for this but also, more than anything, U-Haul should make sure that all of the employees are trained on installing hitches because someone could’ve lost their life during this debacle. This was a very unfortunate situation, and I feel terrible that this agent may get in trouble, but hopefully she will instead receive proper training and support

KIRK ZYou charged my card illegally. First for $44.93 and then without my approval charged me $70.41. If I don’t get the $70.41 reversed by tomorrow morning, I will charge you for fraud.

COLTON MThe service was great! It’s just a busy street with forklifts, boxes of produce in the middle of the street, and cars driving down. Would not be my first choice of location on a Saturday morning. I actually chose an alameda location that’s .5 miles from my house ( uhaul charges per mile) but I was assigned 4th street. In my opinion the couple miles should be adjusted, bc 4th street was more than .5 from us

Babak PThe truck was filthy - spilled motor oil throughout the truck, broken shards of plastic and dirt. The truck driver's side mirror was so loose that it would not stay in place. The truck felt like it had zero suspension and would hit very hard on the smallest bumps. The person who checked out the truck was nice, courteous and a good person. Seemed good at that aspect of the job. Truck was awful.
Packard JThe office was closed. I called before closing and the helpful representative told me I could park at a meter and drop the key. Dropped keys off in secure door slot. I like the security camera.
LINDA WIt was an exceptional experience, and almost every member of the in person in scheduling team did their best to help me: specifically Courtney in scheduling. She gave me back 150 miles that the second of four schedulers took away from me after 100 extra miles had been awarded the day before. Thus, I appreciated everyone that helped me except one person in the Barry scheduling office. She was incredibly painful to deal with.

JAMES RU-haul changed my reservation with no notice. When I arrived at location they alerted me my reservation was canceled and also at a different location. I was never called to be notified. Finally got my reservation reinstated and got to new location. No attendant was at location for over 30min. Called U-Haul and then attendant finally arrived. U-Haul was in very dirty condition with funny sounds when warming up engine. Eventually, when warmed up it was fine. Back cargo door was not locking properly during the whole trip. it was fine. I used U-Haul to move household items and do trips for work. U-Haul was cleaned upon returning, but attendant charged $800 fee saying I went to Burning Man, which I didn't. I understand that the door handle could have been broken already before rental and possibly damaged during rental. But the $800 cleaning fee for returning a clean vehicle is ridiculous. I'll never use U-Haul for any moved ever again.
