I was very unhappy that we picked up the truck, only to find out there wasn’t any gas in the vehicle! My son put $20 in the truck. We live in town, made three trips which added about 8 miles. That was not worth the $20 we paid! When you have people set up to help you and are waiting around for you, there isn’t time to waste. I let the lady at the front counter know. She said she would inform UHaul, but nothing would probably be done about it. I feel I should receive at least half the $20 we put into the truck.

Jeffrey RI was scheduled for mobile pick up. Had the employee not come in early I wouldn't have gotten the truck. Someone was supposed to call the night before with a lockbox code, but never did and the key was inside the building when I arrived. And now I am waiting for a call from management because I was charged for TWO days instead of 5.5 hours because they didn't check in the truck after I returned it. We've used uhaul several times over the years and never had any previous issues.
Michelle MWith many uhaul truck rentals in the past, this location has been, by far, the best in all areas. Other locations seem to have hidden prices and always seem to be adding extra charges to my card. The girls at the Elm st location stuck to the quote, extremely pleasant, and there were no extra charges on my statement at the end of my rental.
PATRICIA TI was clearly overcharged for fuel. I drove a total of 13 miles and never left the truck idling, but was charged for EIGHT GALLONS of fuel. Either something is wrong with that truck or someone intentionally overcharged me. I have been trying to resolve this through uhaul directly, but it's been nearly a month with no resolution or answers to the issue. Staff was friendly at time of rental. Equipment wasn't particularly clean - we found a shoe in the truck cabin and debris in the truck flooring before loading
Wendy SI returned the truck using the mobile/after hours drop off. Twenty four hours later I received an email stating that the truck was not there. It said that the customer (me) ‘stated’ they dropped off on time and in the right place. I did in fact drop it off in the correct place and at the correct time. I had to call and talk to someone there to be sure I wasn’t charged for an extra 24 hours. They also have gps on the truck so they knew exactly when and where it got back.
Nicole CThe location wasn’t a problem it was the truck that was our issue. We had it half loaded before we noticed a cable on the door wasn’t working. When we reached our destination to unload we found the boxes were all wet on the bottom. When we returned it to our chosen location and explained what happened we basically got told the truck would be removed from service. No sorry or discount or any acknowledgment of the inconvenience it caused us.

Kathryn mPlease explain the whole process for picking up a truck without interacting with a service agent, aka off hours. I spent over 30 minutes on the phone to 'get a truck assigned' and then had to trudge through an app and eventually a web browser to get to the point I could get the keys out of a lock box. You shouldn't "start the timer" until the customer gets through all that nonsense.

Amanda LThe truck I was given only had 1/8 of a tank of gas in it. After picking it up, I drove directly to the gas station for gas. I out $30.00 cash in it and it did not register the gas or reset 'miles until empty'. I immediately called Uhaul and was hung up on. I spoke with Anthony and he was helpful but did not believe me at first about the gas tank situation. Told me they would not rent it if there was a problem. I was trying to report the problem. Continued to drive past "zero miles to empty' without running out of gas. So I know there was gas in it. Then was billed for the gas upon return. Charges are still pending. Anthony said I would get credited $30.00 but like I said, charges are still pending and no credit has been isssued.
Dawn BAs the location did not open until 10:00am, I opted for mobile check-in. The app did not function correctly, despite having the correct permissions. We tried to check-in on two Android devices, and only had success after uploading the app onto a third device (iPhone). Chat was useless as it was an automated bot. It took 30 minutes to get the truck due to glitches in the app. At the drop-off location, we had the same issue with the app once it came to uploading photos. Experiences like these make me realize why technology is always second tier to in-person customer service. I would refrain from mobile check-in in the future.

Andrew WU-haul won't let you down. The Salem location and the Forest Grove location both had immediate service and clear directions on expectations. Pickup was quick, 5 minutes, and I was driving away. Drop-off was even faster, less than 2 minutes. Keep up the excellent work. The customer service was great.

Carl SI arrived to pick up the truck at 9am and was having problems with the phone system. It did not send me a code to get the key. Staff arrived early and saw me standing outside and open the door early to help me. She was very helpful and made my day.
March RI do not think it’s this particular location that is an issue. Sure, the truck was absolutely filthy inside and out, but that’s honestly a small thing for me. It ran and had gas. Fine. The app was nearly unusable, we arranged for a Friday evening after hours pickup, and were assured it would not be an issue for an authorized driver to come pick up the truck. The process of getting the truck took over 3 hours, ultimately we were encouraged to get it the next morning which cost us 12+ hours of moving and loading time, and customer service wasn’t very helpful for any of this. One representative was exceptional but the others just told us to use the app, it would walk us through how to do it. After uploading my license 4 separate times and adding an absurd amount of references, our Friday night move started right before U-Haul opened on Saturday. 0/5 stars- would not recommend ever doing off hours pickup. Also whoever designed the app should be shot. Twice.

Daniel ZI like the location due to the fact it's close to my location. What I did not like is the hours for in person rental. Uhaul.com is the worst experience I have ever had. I was on the phone for an hour and fifteen minutes with customer service support trying to get my rental. Had my daughter even come to help me. She too said it was horrible. I will never use uhaul.com again. Took the app off my phone. If that was the only way, I would go to your competitor.

Vince HI am being charged for something I did not do. That someone had done before I got the it truck. And I will be reporting to the BBB about this matter. The app that I use was working will and took awhile for it to work and and when I was trying to Load a picture it was not working. I very upset about this matter and being charged for something I don't not do is unfair and you people did not do your job on Expecting your vehicles verywell. And charged a Customer damages that they did not do.
Angela TI didn't originally realize that when I would return the vehicle, the store would be closed. I was not informed with what to do and I had to guess. The sign on your wall said to make sure you receive a uhaul final receipt, but I had no way of receiving one on the spot so I had to leave without one. This was a stressful experience and I would have appreciated a better rundown of the return process. Customer service was excellent and the woman behind the desk was very friendly and welcoming. If not for the returning experience I would have had no issues.

Andrea EI get that you don’t want to put a lot of money into equipment that isn’t used every day, but you really need to insure it is running smoothly so your customers don’t feel like your equipment will strand them between destinations! Tune ups are not that expensive! Mileage should not be the only indicator!
