It was an office full of angels! There was a problem with our online booking and they made every effort to resolve it quickly and calmly. The exact help and manner that was needed on a stressful moving day! Especially Max who was so incredibly helpful. It’s a great team! I will recommend them highly in the future!

JENNIFER CThe pick-up and drop off locations were helpful. The drop off location for a 26 foot truck was very difficult. I was supposed to drop off my truck at the Dempster location in Evanston, which would have been easy. They diverted me to Ravenswood. When I tried to call customer service to have it changed to an easier drop off location, I was on hold for over a hour before I hung up. That is not the kind of customer service I would expect from an organization like U-haul. Very disappointing to say the least. Why have people wait for over a hour when I was dealing with a truck issue. And to have to listen to the same recording over and over and over again was disgusting. Very poor experience.

John GLonger Hours for Operation hours to speak with Uhaul reps to return rental vans / trucks. Conjunction with not charging customers a $20.00 fee for returns after hours, when your hours open of operation are only 4 to 6 hours. Also, I was charged an addition $21.00 dollars for the one-time rented moving blanket/pads weren't folded? Tired of exhaustion from finishing my solo apartment move-in and clearing the last of my furniture from a storage unit towards completion. More so, the next morning when trying to pay the $21.00 cleaning fee (that I felt wasn't fair yet went on to pay it to finish invoice payment) this office already had sent the promissory bill to corporate and hadn't been a full 24 hours from my drop off return before 7pm. Had to speak with an Uhaul customer service agent 800 contact and cover the balance over the phone, so I could be cleared with a zero balance on the invoice and move forward.... Today at the start of the new week, I received an email stating I owe all of a sudden from Uhaul Collections of: $50.90? Trying to charge me additional $30.00 late fee to apply to the $21.00 that was already paid over the weekend, yet there systems didn't somehow catch???? On a budget and can't afford to be charged unfair extra fees, doing my best to pay on what is due of services and move forward in life. Spoke with agents again to get confirmation that this collection invoice was some kind of error for correction and should have never be emailed to me, knowing all bank statements shows original payments for rental invoice total plus the $21.00 cleaning fee. Can't seem to get a proper email/letter upon request (just the same copy png. of the cleaning attachment that was paid off) stating in writing this is to disregard from collections and I'm in cleared of this invoice and officially paid in full from the last payment sent during the previous weekend. This feels like an extra money-surge/grab that has now permanently put a bad taste in my mouth, after a few years of great service in the past? All this stated here, I don't feel appreciated as returning customer to this location, which is unfortunate to say.... If needing moving rental truck services in future years, I will not be returning to this location and/or Uhaul co. overall, after this lasting experience with bad finish of unfairness. Lamar D.
LAMAR DNothing stands out. It was a good, solid experience with a helpful staff member and I appreciated that.
KAEL SApp was glitchy. I went to take a selfie then app was just black, non responsive. Had to restart phone. I understand verifying by calling a friend or relative. Can that be done before checking in? I got to UHaul 7am and picked a friend next time zone over so it was 8am. What if I was picking it up even earlier than that? Be mindful of when people are awake. Be more clear of expectations when using app and time alotment. I got to place 7am and left 7:30am.

DEREK JI had choose the digital check in process, I arrived to check in at 10:00 am on the day I choose to rent, I had to wait in line because someone called off? And on the internet when trying to check in I was told there was not a vehicle assigned to my order… why would it not be assigned, be connected to a same day call off, when I choose the vehicle and set this all up nearly a day in advance??? I waited till about 10:30 am to be physically checked in, in a line and the process was not smooth at all. The area to park when returning the vehicle was almost impossible to get the vehicle back into there was no extra space and the tightest amount of leeway to park I had to push in the other vans’ side view mirrors in just so I would not collide with them. I rented a van if I had to park a small sized or larger truck I am not sure if I would of been able to physically park without hitting other vehicles and barricades. I feel sorry for anyone who attempts to rent from this location and I definitely will proactively warn others from renting from here. I worked with Max in the office when I picked up and she was not pleasant or communicative with regards to my delays due to a same day call-off this experience was unacceptable. The van was great the location and the customer service should be and was non-existent. No thank you I will not be back…!

ARTURO PThis place was great! I had to be sent here because my reserved location at Rainbow Foods, 2826 W Devon, Chicago IL was not open and they didn't have any trucks. I waited for 30 minutes on hold and then I had to make an extra trip with Lyft after I went to the first place. The person I talked with on the phone said he was giving me a credit if $50 because of the hassle I went through. I have not seen this in my account yet.

juan RThe location itself is great. When I arrived, the door was locked. This was at 4:30pm on a Wednesday. I called the number that was indicated on the door multiple times and each time, nobody answered and the call when back to the beginning menu of the automated message. This was frustrating as I needed to pick up the truck and had limited time. I also knocked on the door to see if anyone was inside. No answer. So I continued to call the number and continued to get the same run-around with the automated message. At one point, a gentleman pulled up and used his key to open the door. Figuring he worked there, I told him I was there to pick up a truck. He was incredibly gracious and helped me out. I didn't get the feeling that he came just to sign the truck out to me. It seemed like he was pulling up to run inside quick, get something, and leave. Had he not pulled up, I don't know if I would've ever gotten the truck. When I walked inside with this gentleman, I saw two people sitting working at desks on their computers. I thought, "you've been sitting here this entire time and even though I called multiple times and knocked on the door, you didn't answer me?" I was not happy to see these people just sitting there like I was invisible. What a slap in my face. The gentleman that helped me was very nice and fast in helping me out. He was great! Other than the neglect of having someone there to meet me at the scheduled time of my pick up, and the down-right ignoring me when I called and knocked, this location was ok. And that's only due to the gentleman who helped me. So, a big thank you to him!

And she exceeded expectation when we arrived to pick up the truck. Max made check in extremely easy, she escorted us to the truck, and did everything she could to get us safely on our way. Thank you for making the beginning of the move stress-free for us.

Anne UCompletely different experience. The place was small and crammed with Trucks, but they were very neatly laid out and organized. I was uncomfortable backing the truck into such a tightly-filled lot, but I called and they came out and took the key and checked me in and said they would turn the truck around. They were very nice about everything. I forgot my prescription sunglasses in the car and they called me right away and held them at the front desk so I could pick them up. This is what I would expect a U-Haul place to be like.

Karen AI had no issues with this location or the people there. However, I do have an issue with U-Haul itself because the truck was not properly maintained. The low brake fluid light came on while driving and brakes were functioning with a lot of difficulty. It did not feel safe and we ended up returning the truck early instead of moving the rest of our items.
Olivia SParking the truck when returning it on the lot was pretty awful. It was full, I had been told to park my truck where I found it. My truck's spot was taken and I had no idea if I could park on the neighbors parking lot. I had to maneuver way more that I thought I ever would to park this truck on uhaul lot, under my watch. Not very happy after 12 hours of moving furniture. Not happy about the demand on the customer.
nolwenn cInforming the customer of the tank size of their vehicles would be beneficial to give them an idea of how much gas they need to refill the tank.

CHRISTIAN BThis drop-off location was very far from where we were moving into and took over 45 minutes one way to get there. There were many locations that were much closer and easier to get to. Would have appreciated a location that was closer and easier to get to as the 45 minute drive to drop off the truck after moving was not great.
PATRICK MThese guys are FANTASTIC! Helpful, trustworthy, understanding, experienced, reliable. They went above and beyond. They seem to really get it that moving is always stressful, and despite my not being at my best, Gary and crew at GSpang went the extra mile to make it all happen and go as smoothly as possible. It's not an exaggeration to say they actually helped restore my faith in humanity. Not only that, the location is safe and their whole operation is super organized. I'm a repeat customer for life.

Steven SHad a wonderful experience renting a Uhaul with this company! I had not downloaded the app prior to completing the rental agreement and I was able to speak to someone at the company at 8:00 am on a Sunday. They happily got me sorted out and on my way! Upon drop off the following day, an employee greeted us in the parking lot and swiftly took care of the return. It made a stressful weekend a lot easier. I would go back for future Uhaul needs!
