Some minor issues with the driver side door not fully closing unless slammed shut. While we are a bilingual country, having parts of the contract (Safemove paperwork attached to the key) in FRENCH only is a bit of an issue. Otherwise things went smoothly - gas gauge/contract didn't match but they adjusted that. NO issues (other than the door). Guy renting deserves credit for dealing with people yelling at him for things out of his control - I think sometimes the honour system is a lot to rely on. That being said, I didn't think what they were yelling about deserved it. He looked after any concerns that were raised.Paul M.

I have used Uhaul over many years. This location didn't seem to care that a tire was visibly low and that there was no windshield fluid. We pumped up the tire ourselves and brought a water bottle with us to clean the window, as it is winter and the roads can be messy. I don't think the guy gave a shit.Jason T.
Have the vehicle ready. Windshield wash full. Proper tires. Make sure the back does not have garbage left behind from the last customer. Don't try to charge double what the quote was once customer is there to pick up the vehicle. Check the vehicle to ensure it is safe for the customer.Craig T.
I was very dissatisfied with the dirtiness of the truck, inside and out!! The windows and mirrors were filthy. The inside of the vehicle had not been cleaned at all and I had to use wet wipes to feel comfortable to even get in and drive it. The clerk at the location didn't really seem to care that it wasn't sanitized. Especially with Covid!!! It was a slow, long process and I felt that it was just not an important job!! He said they don't clean them, they are just a place to pick up and drop off the vehicles. If I hadn't needed the truck so much, I would not have accepted it!! I realize that this location isn't an actual Uhual office, but, I have been to the Barlow Uhaul location and it is 100% better!!! If it was my business name associated with a location, I definitely would not be happy with the 52nd location.roxanna R.

You could not charge them 70$+ 30$ for gas when someone only goes less than 12km in a truck, I moved 5mins away from old house and back to the pickup location less than 12km total also pre paid 100$ To get the truck plus at no time when I did the pickup of the truck did anyone mention gas service charge and I had a witness that the truck was empty when we /I got in, plus I predid everything on- line with ID sent the picture of license front and back had a confirmation number and everything, just to have to do the same thing at location, plus I asked about drop off box after hours apparently this location did but didn't offer that service insisted I return it in morning, but only to be ripped off for clearly supplying false information as to the gas, clearly assuming people will just pay thinking that's how much it costs to rent a truck especially first timers like myself, but if you do the math there's no way over half a tank of gas was used when someone only goes 12km && funny thing when owner of Gas plus in forest Lawn 52nd street SE was inputing the milage in computer said â€œoh you went less than 12km that's weirdâ€but yet said I owed for gas that wasn't even possible that I used, then on top it off to have the back of his store closed/locked claimed door stuck but yet infront of my eyes saw him open it no problem to yell at someone after making me go back and forth to take pictures would've saved me time if he at least came outside to do the drop off procedures, worst worst experience ever 100% not recommend especially to rip people off how many times have they/he done this beforeDenise M.

I wasted two hours till They found another location that has my truck. It's hard to trust U-Haul if we only find out that reservation and confirmation does not mean anything to you guys. While the location claims to be open from 8am sundays, we wait 20 minutes (9:45 until 10:05) for someone to open the store. I was then met with an employee on the phone claiming they were speaking with their boss and i should wait. Truck was covered in snow and the windshield covered with ice.Jeff B.

Employee was not helpful/knowledgeable in the equipment that I was renting. An hour and a half after signing paperwork I was able to finally drive the trailer I rented off the lot. Charged for 2 days even though I brought equipment back less than 24 hours from driving off the lot. Not impressed with my uhaul experience overall and would not use again.Tasha A.
Clerk made error when giving deposit back. Called me half hour later demanding I return to store. I explained i was out of town already on way to families for Thanksgiving dinner. He was very very rude. I hung up on him. I told him I would return to location next day but he would not have it. He continued to call me from several numbers over and over. The store clerk was the best! So courtious, knowledgeable, and very helpful. I would recommend this uhaul in gas plus on 52nd st se. (I tried to rent a uhaul for two weeks at the uhaul gas station on 26th Ave se , and if I were u I would take my uhaul business from that gas station!! I wasted money booking elevators ect. Employee had no idea how to dispatch vehicle. Vehicle had been booked to have a furniture trolley, moving blankets and utility trolley. Despite being assured in booking call day before that truck would be ready with this equipment it was not. Had to stop at my preferred Uhaul pickup point to get requested items and initiate action to get paperwork fixed. Truck had not been cleaned at all despite COVID protocols. The pick up and drop off location was a horrible experience. Booked it online and did everything online. Had to wait 45 minutes just to get the key from the counter. Horrible customer service. When dropping off the u haul paid through online and dropped the key off and the same guy made us wait 20 minutes to make sure we paid. Yelled at us that we didn't pay. Showed him we paid online and still wanted us to wait while he phones his manager to make sure we paid. Do not go to the location avoid it. Unorganized, doesn't know what they are doing, got yelled at and had to wait for ever. Only got the u haul for 6 1/2 hours because of this. Do not go to this locationCory M.

The clerk at the store was very friendly, the truck was clean . However he did not seem to have enough training, seemed very unsure of the rental process. Took a very long time to check in and even longer to process my return. You should help the guy out with a little extra training so it goes a little smoother. I will never be booking a U-Haul ever again and will be advising any of my friends to seek out a different company. My booking was changed/canceled 3 times, communication skills from the call centre was atrocious, the truck was not ready at time of pick up, I waited an hour as the cashier couldn't find the keys and the car was so filthy, we had to go to a Safeway to purchase cleaner as my boyfriend is immune compromised and we are currently in a global pandemic. There looked to be spit piles on the floor of the drivers side and along the drivers side door. Absolutely disgusting.shannelle M.

You can tell the people taking a reservation to pay attention too the other person on the phone. I needed the truck for 8-10 hours. The pick up location didn't have the truck I wanted so was given another truck. The person at the pick up location called me twice asking when was I bringing the truck back as I could only have it for 6 hours. Since I could not get it back in that time I was charged an additional day rental plus the 50.00 dollar fee for not having it back in time for the next person. I have used u haul many times and have always been very happy but after this experience I will never use them again and I don't recommend them.DEBORAH I.
Worst experience I've ever had with u haul and I'm not being mean I'm telling the honest truth, most of the locations are pretty good but this location is absolutely terrible. From start to finish. I had to call the regional manager just to get the reservation, customer service is absolutely the worst I've seen at U Haul and compared to many other businesses at well. Charge my credit card and gave me the difference back in cash because the machine was broken?? Highly unprofessional. This place desperately needs a assistance with a lot of the key components that support a good experience with regards to the customers experience. U Haul if you read this this is absolutely not what you'd want as a representation of your business. Very very frustrating to see the least. The transaction was not smooth at all. The attendant at this location didn't seem to know what to do or how to do it. It took 45mins to drop off the vehicle. We had to tell her that they had to refund the deposit and again, didn't understand. The store was a gas station but with a Bong and Smokeshop sign. She gave us cash refund for deposit because she didn't know how. Horrible service, will never use or recommend this location.Perry C.
Maybe during Carona virus, things are hectic, maybe don't charge customers the extra day if they are running behind maybe allow a slight larger timeframe before adding the payment for the additional day. I scheduled to pick up my truck rental from uhaul neighborhood dealer 3540 52st se, calgary, ab at 6am. I registered and confirmed online, but when I arrived at 6am, the gas plus station was closed, and nobody showed up till 7am. The gas station posted hours of operation was 6am. I asked the cashier why the store didn't open at 6 and he said â€œwe open at 7amâ€, despite all the above facts. After I returned the rental later that day, the cashier had to take a picture of my receipt from his computer screen on my personal cell phone, b/c there was no printer and he s could not email a copy to me. How is this possible?! This was a major inconvenience as I had scheduled people to help me move at 6am, and the service was not professional.Nicholas H.
The location was pretty sketchy. The guy helping us had no idea what he was doing. It took him half an hour just to put the transaction through on the computer. There was nobody else in the store. Then, when he was trying to hook up the trailer to the hitch, he tried hooking up the trailer from the bottom of the hitch. Then, when he was hooking up the chains and wires, he was literally on facetime with someone else walking him through it. This part took about 20 minutes. I'm no expert at hooking up trailers, but it really shouldn't be this difficult.Shelby D.

The trailer was frozen to the ground and i was given no assistance or direction on set up.James C.
I didn't proceed with my rental. When I arrived at the store, everywhere for sale in the shop was hemp, marijuana paraphernalia, vaping products and knives. My son was very uncomfortable in the location and urged me to leave. I stood there for 30 minutes after booking a trailer online with my prefilled out info on everything. He clicked the mouse for 30 minutes straight and called someone 5 times for assistance. He said I was ready to go and gave me the paperwork. When I arrived at the trailer it was completely filthy. It was pure black, the hitch, everything was filthy. I couldn't get into the back of the trailer as it was backed into a bush, so I don't imagine they cleaned that either. The trailer was frozen into the ground and I was not provided with any assistance. I walked around the trailer and decided, as a Health and Safety professional and professional driver, that this trailer was not roadworthy. I went in and cancelled the contract. I have never had much luck with neighborhood dealers and won't do this again. I want to ensure that I am not charged for this as I am sure I will be.Chris W.
Don't change their pickup location 5 minutes before their pickup time to across the city. Don't deduct close to half of their deposit with no explanation as to why.
