Gary at Gabons Electronics was Amazing. I hope U Haul Corporate reads this. We picked up our first U Haul trailer in Bristol Tennessee. It almost made it to Colby Kansas. 80 miles or so outside of Colby Kansas, on of the tires blew out. We immediately pulled over to investigate. One of the wheels on the trailer was smoking a bit. After about 2 minutes a yellow flame appeared. Luckily i had a fire extinguisher. The flame quickly was put out only to reappear 3-5 times. After that, I started pouring bottles of water on the wheel and tire. Again, luckily I had new case of drinking water. Finally the flames quit, we got in touch with the U Haul Energy help folk and help was on the way. Initial help appeared in less than 30 minutes, did and evaluation of the situation and were off to their next situation. According to what i heard, the wheel bearing failed, froze up, heated up the trailer rim and the heat caused the tire to blow and catch fire. Anyway.... They informed us that a tow truck was on the way and should arrive within 90 minutes. In less than 50 minutes, Gary of Gavon's Electronics arrived and took charge. He disconnected the trailer and told us to get on the road, find dinner and get a hotel in Colby. unless your planning on continuing to Colorado. He told us that he would meet us at his shop with the trailer and get the stuff in the trailer transferred to a new trailer. (NOTE: I'm 69 years old and have a bad back / I actually hired a group of college kids to load the trailer before we left) Gary was great. Best road side assistance ever. We got a hotel and then went to Gavon's Electronics and hooked up with Gary and his crew. Under my supervision and request, that stuff in the trailer was transferred. Gary even suggested a Mexican restaurant where we had a great meal. I'm not normally one to comment on stuff like this but Gary of Gavon's Electronics went way far about and beyond the call of duty. The best service service ever. Great guy and great service NOW FOR THE NEXT PART OF OUR TRIP:::::: When we turned in the replacement trailer that we recieved in Colby to the Colorado U Haul in Colorado springs, things went well, however when i was asked if there was anything else i needed, I asked if it was possible for U Haul to replace my 5Lbs ABC fire extinguisher that i used to put the the U Haul trailer fire that was caused due to improper maintenance. I was immediately told that i would have to go back to the U Haul where i initially rented the trailer. I was speaking to Ricardo Bustos of 455 E Woodmen Road in Colorado Springs, Colorado. I told Ricardo that i just saved U Haul an insurance claim/lawsuit for our stuff and saved U Haul from loosing one of their trailers due to lack of maintenance. There was no assistance after that. We went on our way and decided address the issued after finishing up the move. So, Bottom line.... Steve of Gavon's Electronics was awesome and Ricardo Bustos of U Haul wasn't so awesome. Bottom line, I'd like to make sure #1 Steve gets a big"ATTA Boy" #2 Ricardo gets a call from Corporate #3 U-Haul reimburses me for my $50 ABC fire extinguisher and #4 I receive confirmation that my customer requests have been addressed.

ROY LAgain, where do I even start? The person helping me was incredibly unhelpful throughout the entire process. Shockingly, his dog bit my brother while we were there—he ended up needing nine stitches—and not even a basic first aid offer was made, not even a Band-Aid. As if that weren’t bad enough, I was being charged for an appliance dolly and moving blankets that I never received, and the staff member offered no help resolving it. I had to handle everything myself. I understand that in small towns options can be limited, but U-Haul seriously needs to reconsider the quality of the outlets they partner with. This experience was unacceptable on multiple levels.

Steven JWe reserved a 26’ truck a week in advance and went to pick it up only to find out that it wasn’t available bc the person returning it extended their reservation for another 2 days. This was after getting a call from a Uhaul representative confirming our reservation 1hr before pickup.. So we were left hanging. Luckily, we were able to travel 35 miles out of our way to get an enclosed trailer. It turned out to be fine but we will not be using Uhaul again because they have done this to use twice now. Ridiculous.

JOEL PMy only complaint is the policy that you don’t always pick up what you rent from the location you rent it from. I think Uhaul should bring the equipment to the place you rent from.

CLIFFORD GHad to pickup my truck at a different location after putting in a reservation WELL in advance. The other location was an hour away from me which made my day even longer trying to lad up furniture. A light did not work on the car dolly & instead of waiting an hour to have it fixed I took it as is.
Stacy AIt would be a big help to a lot of people if U-Haul had 6 foot wide cargo trailers with a ramp. Many zero turn mowers have decks that are wider than 5 foot and a enclosed trailer with no ramp is really a pain.

bob mI returned the truck at 7pm the evening before it was due the next day, but kept the key to avoid the $20 charge for U Haul checking the truck in after business hours. I returned in the morning in another vehicle at 9:30 am with the key before my due date time and was harassed because the agent couldn't find the key and threatened to charge an additional day because he said the truck could not be checked in without the key. The agent did not charge me for an additional day, but harassed me for not parking the truck according to signs he said were at the drop location. All in all, I would prefer never to return to this site either. After talking to people in the area, apparently this agent has a reputation for this kind of behavior. If I could avoid renting U Haul equipment, I would never rent another piece of equipment again from U Haul.

James EI had a great experience with this location. The guys there were great. Uhaul itself should be more accommodating to its customers though. I have a Uhaul dealer 5 minutes from my house, but had to drive 35 miles to pick up a rental and a dolly. If my location didn't have a dolly, one should have been delivered for me to use.

Dave AWe understand we were extremely tired and forgot to gas up the uhaul before the return, so we were expectingto pay for that. But we did clean it and we were not refunded $25 and we were not refunded the mileage we didn't use either, like they told us in Ft Morgan, CO. Overall I'm very disappointed with Uhaul as a company and the kind of customer service it provided us this trip was unsatisfactory.

Geoffrey STruck was returned with exactly the amount of fuel I picked it up with. Needle was just below 3/4 of a tank. Not at 5/8 of a tank. I am then charged for another 6 gallons of fuel. That’s ridiculous that I have to pay for more than I used. I explained this to the drop of store and the response was that I should take a picture of the fuel gauge the next time. Or I just use a different company. Thanks

Fulton PWhen I went in I was told they wouldnt charge my card until i delivered the Uhaul back. That was a lie. I was also told that I had to choose where i would deliver it back to and I couldn't change the destination location because the delivery location was on the contract. That was a lie. I was also told if I delivered the Uhaul back early i wouldnt have to pay for the extra days. That was also a lie. I also had to drive 40 miles out of my way to pick up the Uhaul. Attempted to deliver it back a day early to the location I had chosen on the contract and was turned away to a different location. And was still charged and not reimbursed for the extra day that i dont have the Uhaul.
