Lydia RThe pick up day was 9am Monday, Feb 17 - this day was a disaster of weather - snow/ice the previous day - made Monday morning nearly impossible for everyone in this and surrounding areas to function. No one was able to get from their homes to Gill's Auto Repair and the shop had to close that day - however, there was one person who was able to make it in - Danny - he had to travel the farthest - he said he always shows up early - and, he said - he was determined to take care of the two customers who had scheduled Uhaul truck pick ups that morning. I have never seen anyone work harder on the behalf of the customer - the entire parking lot was ice - the uhaul vans and trucks had been plowed up to the wheel wells by snow plow passing by - then that plowed snow turned to ice. When I got there - Danny was shoveling out the Uhaul van for 3 college girls - he was then rocking the van back and forth to get it out of the iced in spot and getting it clear and ready for these customers - meanwhile, he started up my 15ft truck so it could start warming up and apologized profusely for the inconvenience (which was no fault of his own). While he was working on that, I am adventurous, I found a snow shovel and went to work on my truck's snow and ice by chopping at it and then shoveling and shoveling and shoveling....for over 30min.... while Danny finally got the other van out and the girls could get on with their move. Next, Danny came to me - tired out and very dedicated to helping me get my truck out - he brought salt, he brought another shovel - and we worked together to get it dug out enough so Danny could rock it back and forth for about 10-15 min before it finally emerged safely out of the encased snow/ice mounds. IT was a mess. It pulled it up front and made sure everything was okay and did all the checking out processes...apologizing - saying no one else was able to make it in and he was closing the shop up for the day to customers - however, Danny stayed around all day in this shop to wait for the girls to return their van and to wait for me to return the truck 6hours later - he checked me in with a smile. I was so impressed with his dedication to customer service - he should be a spokesperson for Uhaul - he's the best I've ever experienced with regards to Uhaul - and, believe me I have had some of the worst person's to deal with - one woman in West Allis, Wis - the manager of a Uhaul location on Hwy 100 should be dismantled from her role with Uhaul - she was rude and charged me for an extra day even when I brought the truck back the very next morning - I was late because my Uhaul helpers showed up high and dropped a dresser two flights of stairs before I had to send them on their way - then I was stuck not being able to complete my move that Sunday and had to finish it the following monday paying professional movers over $400 on short notice this woman had no idea what I went through - she was not on duty when I was calling the person and telling them Sunday what was happening - and, she did not care - and, she's the manager - so, had no recourse - just a terrible terrible experience. Danny's efforts helped restore my faith in Uhaul again...as a good source of moving help for people who really cannot afford much, yet, nevertheless, deserve kindness and respect and good customer service.
ELYA RI was forced to buy a $25/day insurance policy that I did not want. This was not disclosed when I made the reservation using your app. I'm too busy to consider filing a complaint with the Massachusetts authorities, but Imay reconsider. How could I recommend this unethical business to others?

DIANA YThe gentleman I dealt with was absolutely wonderful but the truck I used, while it served its purpose, was filthy and the transmission was on its last legs. It apparently came in after hours the night before and there was no time to properly clean it as I picked it up when the site opened. I did not refuel as I didn't want to drive through the construction around the site in a truck that drove poorly. I would have appreciated a break on the price as I needed to travel 17 miles to even get a truck. A $29.95 rental cost me $135 with mileage and fuel charges. I would recommend taking this particular vehicle out of service and finding ways to make vehicles available at all U-Haul sites so one doesn't have to pay more just to travel get it than to use it.
LISA CThe U-Haul app and web site needs major improvement. Franchise had significant Connectivity problems onsite at time of rental, ewe had to enter data multiple times and there was a line. Also, vehicle had 3/4 tank of fuel at time of rental ( which franchise knew about but not the app) and then at time of return, I filled to 3/4 t…but app added $15 to bill for gas I did not use.
MARK BSince this is the only nearest location there is no other option. However, the truck pickup experience was not great i wasted more than 2 hours in the proces sof picking the truck itself. 1. Let the customer know you need more documents than just the driving license 2. Very clearly state that the keys are required to unlock the truck 3. Mention the process of obtaining the key way before the day of reservation

DAVID MThere's no communication between locations. I drove by 3 locations who had the truck I needed that was closer. I also wasted 1 1/2 hours of my paid time standing in line at two different locations ! I had to go to the original location and pick up bed bags and they had the truck I needed . I also so was charged tax on a tax free weekend in Massachusetts. I wasn't given credit for extra gas ( more ) then when I picked it up with. Drop off wasn't easy either. That took another 1 hour on line !

Zhichao XThe check-in/pick-up process was incredibly confusing. It had been pitched to me as completely contact-less and easy, but instead took me over half an hour of forms and confusing requirements. It doesn’t make sense that all of those steps have to be carried out as you’re picking up the van - they took me so long, in fact, that my van was almost cancelled despite the fact I was actively working through the steps necessary to pick it up. This process ought to be streamlined and done ahead of time, and at the very least communicated better.

Jonathan TSmall auto shop…shop itself was not as convenient. I requested the larger nearby uhaul location and was told not available so they sent me to Gil’s. I had requested a dollie and Gil’s informed me at that time it was not available. Thankfully it we were able to accomplish without it. The gentleman was pleasant enough, But did not want to go into any details on my order or confirm that I had added the extra insurance. Rushed and just said to “look” on my contract online… Which was not convenient at the time when I was actually living up and confirming all the reservation details. Pick up however, was rather simple.

His customer service is better than any UHaul location I've been to (and he's not even a direct u-haul employee). Eliza SUhaul needs to do a better job of ensuring proper maintenance to equipment. half of the lights on the trailer which I rented were not operational, and the trailer rode extremely rough even behind a heavy 3/4 ton diesel pickup which has been used to haul much heavier loads with a smoother ride.

Carl CI requested 2 furniture dollys, and they only had a record of 1. Also, it is NOT ok for you to add things like moving pads, only so I have to remove them. That was on the uhaul site, and had NOTHING to do with Gils Auto. I should not have to double check what I have ordered!! That's on corporate!!
Patricia MFix the app! It would not load on pickup spent half an hour waiting to verify. Then when I dropped of the Rental it started the return and then it just stopped.
