Miles per hour, poor air flow, air conditioning barely worked, phone jacks in cigarette lighters, no ramp, sharp wheel beds inside that scraped my furniture, fridge could not stand upright. Everything had to be done on line - not at the customer service desk with the human in front of me. It was expensive- no senior rates, no hourly discounts, quote was in miles!

Colin W | Overall ExperienceUpon arrival I was informed I had to return the truck with 1/4 tank to avoid additional fees. I tried to explain that I received the truck with 11 miles until empty and I was leaving it with 31 miles until empty (as a gesture of good will). Unfortunately the U-Haul representative tried to discredit my claim by insisting I would have picked the truck up with 1/4 tank as per the contract (which again is hidden in the app). She told me I had to pay the “gas fuel charge” and administration fee or go and fill the truck up. I then drove to the nearest gas station and put 30.00 in the truck. This brought the gas gauge up to nearly 1/4 a tank. I returned the truck and was told yet again that the fuel reading was inadequate. I once again tried to explain my situation and was told that there was nothing that could be done. I asked to speak to a manger and was told that wouldn’t be possible as the manager wasn’t in. I was then forced to pay the gas fee and administrative fee and then tax on top of that. The lack of transparency and inconvenience with this entire process have guaranteed I will never be using UHaul in the future.

Honestly most storgae units are NOT anywhere near as welcoming or helpful. They have a smile for everyone and gosh are they fantastic at jockeying the cars and the people and keeping it all moving smoothly . The facility under their care is IMPECCABLE ! Why go anywhere else ?

The drive-in feature really helped with visits on rainy days too, Never been to a storage place that has complimentary dollies either so that was a very nice added bonus. Motion sensor lights help keep the electricity usage to a minimum for such a huge place as well. Kudos! This facility should be the blueprint for ALL storage facilities in the future.10/5 stars!

Dorwwin VWe live in a 2 bedroom small condo with no basement to put items we use. Storage is a necessity..especially in a clean heated building like yours. Every 3 weeks, we used to be in Peterborough for appointments…and would use this time if needed to access our stored items. Our Peterborough Chiropractor has retired recently -and we don’t go to Peterborough very often. We have found that items were need unexpectedly and right away, were too far of a ride away from us. We have found storage within a short distance of our home allowing us to have access in minutes to items we need. Thank you for many years years of using your facility…and if this doesn’t work out.. there is no other other clean, heated and more well organized storage facility anywhere in Peterborough that we would use except GPL STORAGE. Leslie RUnfortunately, I am writing this review as I did not have a pleasant experience here. I don't normally write reviews but this was a very frustrating experience. I booked a 15' truck to move but received a call an hour before my reservation that they didn't have the truck and would need to downsize to a 10' truck. I agreed (because 10' is better than 0') assuming that our charges would reflect the change. However, we were still charged for the 15' and we also had to pay for all the mileage - even though we expressed that it would now take several trips to move everything. They offered to allow us to keep the truck for an extra day. However, I got a text that it needed to be returned within 23 hours from picking it up. After returning - they asked for an 80$ additional payment because I "went over my mileage". The only compensation we got was 20$ off so I still paid 170$ for a truck we didn't want while also having to fill the tank to make up for the extra trips we had to take. If you need a truck rental, go to the Uhual on Water Street - they are MUCH more professional.

LARRY FWe returned the truck at night and the lot was not very well lit. My wife was not very comfortable, if a single woman went to pick up or drop off a truck at night it would not be too nice for her. I would suggest the location needs to invest in some better lighting for the parking lot.

Staff have always been very helpful and friendly - in person, on the phone and via email. While one could argue that 24/7 access would be more convenient, I appreciate that the hours are limited and staff are always there when the facility is open - I felt much more secure in leaving my things there for an indefinite period of time. Thanks to all the staff for making both the move in and out so hassle free!

We were glad to find an indoor heated facility and the restricted access hours were more than offset by the security it provided. We made many trips to our two units to store our more vulnerable items and then to move them out again. Although everyone we dealt with was friendly and helpful I have to say Shelley and Tracy in particular made what could have been a difficult time a breeze. When I phoned to arrange a time and when I met them on arrival they treated me more like a friend than a customer. They also made sure the facility and the rental vehicles were always kept clean. The rental of a Uhaul van when I needed it also went smoothly. It's rare to receive this level of service in any business dealings nowadays. I will definitely be back if the need for storage arises again.

If you work, then Saturday is maybe the only day to get in there and with a 2pm close, its limited. Otherwise, staff are super friendly, the place is super clean.
