I checked in online and when I arrived the truck was at the location, ready and clean to go, I had no issues and the guy was very nice and informative.

While UHaul is a very reputable organization, their independent authorized dealer, Golfcrest True Value Hardware, 5206 Telephone Rd., Houston, Texas 77087 is horrible at customer service. I did everything subscribed for a customer from reserving the truck to confirming on line. When I arrived, I still had to go through the check-in process and the owner was very rude. When I told him that I had confirmed check-in online that I wouldn't have to be in the store long, he said, "If you don't want to wait, you can go somewhere else". How rude. If I could have waited another day, I would have gone somewhere else. I will never patronize that location again.

I was charged for the dolly that I did not use. The dealer claimed that the tag was cut or broke. They admitted dolly was still standing. If the tag and integral strap were cut, that dolly would fall over.

OVER CHARGE - Rented car trailer for one day and returned same day $49. Gulfcrest submitted to Uhual 7 days rental for an additional $300.. When I received my credit card statement, I called Gulfcrest, they said it was a mistake and would correct it, they did not, I kept calling for 45 days but they did nothing. I finally contacted Uhaul corporate, they corrected my billing and credited my credit card. Go to an honest dealer.

Check overhead door to make it works. I had to use a second vehicle and waste twice the gas to carry small items so they wouldn't fall out the back.

They didn't have the truck we ordered so we had to take a bigger truck, we had just flown into Houston to pick up the truck, load it and then drive to Bountiful Ut. I didn't have time to argue . this cost me an extra $300.00 plus additional fuel over the 1400 mile trip. this should not be a U-Haul location

They need to remind the customer not to leave their vehicle inside the parking lot. I left my car in the parking when I returned the Uhaul back to pick up my car i found the gate clossed and I couldn't get out my car. I have to call a taxi. I was so mad I have to call out from work. Was my bad experience ever.

The parking lot where they keep the U-Haul trucks and open trailer it's on the hill full of big rocks it's hard to get you a vehicle up the hill and connect your the trailer to your truck

No one let us know about the process to return the unit in a 24hrs u-Haul. Actually, we call to the number to know what location we are going to use and gave me one 20 minutes far from my location when we have other close to us.

My only concern was there was no drop off box. The lot with the trailers is not even the same address. I was not 100% sure I was doing the right thing in just leaving the trailer. A sign or a drop box would help.

Truck was absolutely covered in bugs, and the windshield wipers and fluid didn't help at all. Additionally, the service at the store was slow and took forever even though I'd filled out all the information to make the checkin "faster" and returning the vehicle took forever too.

Staff was rude. They did not have a dedicated uhaul counter and the cashier (nice) did not know how to accept the return. We waited over half an hour before my husband finally got rude in return. We were told to just leave it and our phone number and they would take care of it later. WORST Uhaul experience ever!

The overall experience was horrible. A corporate reservation was made and a confirmation number given and then UHaul lost the reservation. Chris had to wait for an hour in one location then was sent to another location across Houston to pick up the truck and car hauler. UHaul did not do anything to make up for THEIR mistake. Very dissatisfied with the service.

I was scheduled to pick up a truck at 8:30 AM. The owner, who had the keys to the truck, did not show up to the store until 1:45PM. This made me late to meet my movers and costs me a lot more money. The staff at the store attempted to call him MULTIPLE TIMES. We he did answer, he told them that he was on his way and coming from home. Staff said he lives about 30 minutes away. Eventually he stopped answering the phone when his staff was calling to see where he was at and instead he just showed up HOURS later. Once the owner got there, he did not know how to write the uhaul contract up. This was an awful experience and I will tell as many people as I can not to rent though them.

I made online reservation to pick up at Gulf freeway. Went to pick up during rush hour and was sent to another location. I drove to pick up and waited 40 minutes and never established a drop off. I go to drop off and I was charges $40. I should have the $40 back since my pick up was wrong?

Initial experience was fantastic, for the young lady we worked with I believe her name is Diana, was extremely personable and courteous. When returning, we had to wait 20 mins before someone was able to help us. They were nice after we were helped, but the waiting was a bit much.

The cashier was great! The store manager was rude and not customer friendly. Store did not have dolly for the move. Uhaul corporate very rude and not helpful. Told I could either go to yet another location for dolly or just cancel the whole order even though my order had been transferred twice before. No one helped me connect the trailer to my truck or offered. Overall poor experience.

I was in line waiting for one person in front of me to be checked out. When the person was finished the cashier said she needed to check out everyone before she could help me. After the line died down she got on the intercom and said I need personnel for a Uhual delivery. Poor customer service. The man who assisted was very helpful.

This poor score was really not a U-Haul problem, rather it was due to the poor customer service provided by the True Value Manager. The employee at the register was having issues with the computer she was using, and she said she needed to get the manager. She took my credit card with her and walked to the back of the store. As a person who has had 2 incidents of someone fraudulently using my credit card number, this concerned me. The manager came out and tried to take my payment, but was still experiencing computer problems. So after a number of attempts, he started writing my personal credit card information on a piece of paper. When I asked him what he was doing, he said I'm going to try it again in an hour. I said no, that's my personal information, please give me that paper. He began ripping the paper up, and I said what are you doing? He said I'm going to rip it up and throw it away. I said no, give me that paper, and he said no I'll just throw it away. So I took it out of his hand. He then said well you'll have to pay in cash then. I didn't have cash on me, so I said I'll just go to the bank and return. As I was going to my car, the manager came out and said your payment went through. I said OK, I'd like a receipt. He said I emailed it to you. I said I'd like to get a printed receipt, he then yelled, I already emailed it to you! This guy was completely unprofessional, with no customer service skills whatsoever. Not to mention the fact that he would write my personal credit card information on a piece of paper that anyone could have gotten their hands on and used. Additionally it wasn't my fault that his computer was locking up, and that he wasted 20 minutes of my time trying over and over to get payment. Extremely poor customer service!

Reservation was moved by Company and we had to drive by 5 other U-hauls to get there. They cab of truck was dirty and had food left over in it and a shoe. Air Conditioner went out for most of the trip. Worked intermittently after that. Worst moving experience yet. I was guided to only get a 17 foot truck and items did not all fit but could not find a cargo trailer. Drove with items in a of my vehilces.

Then I got charged and the lady kept repeating how many days I would be charged (it was one day less than what the computer was charging)... Like she did not know basic math... My plans including flying to Houston, renting truck, loading it then driving back to my home in Dallas. I requested a 10ft truck. It was more than enough space. After making reservation, I called the requested pickup location to find that they don't have 10ft trucks but they gave me the phone # for the main office in Houston. The main office referred me to the Golf Crest location, which worked out better since it was very close to Hobby airport so my uber ride was much less than if I had to go further toward my office. We worked with Harry who did the register work and answered my qustions and Ralph who helped us get acquainted with the truck. The truck was new. It had approx 7600 miles on it. Very clean and much easier to drive than I thought. It came with a full tank so we returned it same level. I'm 6'4" so I fit better in driver's side than passenger side (my wife drove too. She is 5'10" and comfortable in both seats. The only service complaint is the front windshield was not clean on pickup. It had lots of dead bugs on it. We stopped at a gas station just to clean the windshield. Also, I hired "two guys moving" thru the Moving Help website (uhaul referral) and was very pleased with them. I reserved for two hours they had our truck loaded and items ratchet secured in 1 hr.

The employees at this location were very kind. Despite having a reservation, they did not have the truck we reserved. However, they worked to solve the problem. Drop-off did take nearly 45 minutes (we were helped at the beginning and then were told to wait). The owner was extremely rude and condescending. His behavior was enough to choose not to visit his business again. I have never experienced such bad customer service from a person.

I was supposed to pick this up at Auto Source on the Gulf Freeway and they were not there. I waited 20 minutes before giving up and finding this new location. This location was excellent!

My experience with U-Haul, in general, was unsatisfactory. I made my reservation at a U-Haul site 2 miles from my apartment. Had I not been looking at Emails from my office at 10PM on Sunday night, I would never have known that I was to pick up my truck 30 miles away at another site. Additionally, this site opened at 8AM, while the Pearland site opened at 7AM. When I got there, they didn't have the size truck I ordered & I wound up with a 26 ft that I only filled to about 1/4 of its capacity - increasing my gasoline cost significantly. Finally, my moving crew got to the apartment at 8:30 - by the time I secured the truck and got back in prime time Houston traffic, it was 10AM. I had to pay the moving crew (3 men) $95/hr each for that dead time.
