You can get rid of the ridiculous requirement to verify return of you equipment via cell. And there is no way in hell I would ever pay $20 for you to confirm something I already. Who ever developed this must have been intoxicated

Make trucks available where customers request them. We had to drive 40 miles out of our way to pick up AND return the truck!! Convenient since you're charged per mile.

Truck was old, filthy, strong smell of smoke and rattled like crazy. Windshield filthy. Both doors squeak embarrassingly loudly. After feeling the rental was not a good value, I topped off the Gas tank to get it to the same level as when I picked it up. You charged me for 3.6 gallons more. Your gas gauge in the truck is far less precise than the one you print on your invoice. Left me feeling you are “nickel and dimimg” me. As we manage through COVID-19 I would expect your Level of cleaning to be higher than average. It appeared that no cleaning at all was done. Extremely disappointing experience.

Online it said I could use my cell phone to pick up the truck, yet when I arrived it said there was an issue and that I had to go inside the store for assistance. I had to pick up my keys and do some paperwork inside the store. When I made the reservation it should have been more clear.

The proprietor was excellent. Very helpful. U-Haul made a mistake and added insurance to my booking and the proprietor was able to rectify it and get me in my way.

The process of picking up the van was confusing--I was told I would have to do this via smart phone, but when I arrived at the site, the application bonked at the second step, telling me that there was no equipment reserved for me. Of course there was, and fortunately the hardware store owner showed up and processed the paperwork quickly and I was on my way. The in-person process was seamless, but UHaul ought to know in advance, and share that information with the customer, whether the pickup is going to online or in-person.

I was billed an additional $10 after a $140 prepayment. The rep stated it was $5 environmental fees. However, I attempted to pay with my American express card the clerk stated it was declined after which I paid cash. Unbeknownst to me, my card was not declined and the$5 payment was received twice. Given the distance between harmony and my new home is not feasible to return for a refund. However this should be addressed. One way to improve would be to have computer knowledgeable clerks to assist customers.

We found on the long drive to NJ from NH that the truck itself had very poor brakes which was a safety hazard. When dropping it off, the location in NJ simply shrugged and were less than concerned.
