Several pieces of information I got from U-Haul was different than what I learned when I picked up or dropped off (e.g. if I “pay in advance” the 24 hours starts then, parking is not free, there was a $10 charge, the location’s computer could not check me in. However the staff Nate, Justin and Ritchie were each very polite, helpful and courteous and that made a big difference! I felt like they cared about me as a valued customer!

The headlight was out on the truck right when I drove off. We had some night driving and that made it hard. The person signing me in was very helpful and saved me money.

Dont send them here, the Willamette gas station considers u-haul a secondary business and make anyone trying to get through the rental process wait for anyone buying cigs or gum or whatever.

I was disappointed that U-Haul failed to mention on its website the $10 licensing fee it routinely charges with each rental. When I tallied my costs on the website, it indicated that I'd be charged $102 (U-Haul rental), $14 (insurance), and $5 (environmental fee) for a total of $121. It was unreasonable, I believe, for U-Haul to add an additional, unexpected fee while I was checking out the vehicle from the pick-up location.

Mitch gave excellent customer service, but could not make up for the Uhaul website not working. We spent almost half an hour while Mitch tried and eventually succeeded in checking us in and getting us our rental. Since our rental was for only 2 hrs, spending 30 mins of that time waiting for the website to work properly was very frustrating and reflects badly on Uhaul. Only Mitch's determination and knowledge got us the truck we needed and on our way. I commend his expertise and condemn Uhaul's frustrating online process!

Be Perfectly clear that the clock starts ticking on the reservation the minute the reservation time occurs. That was not clear to me.

The online self check in was RIDICULOUS. I had to spend 30 minutes trying to finish it when all of the pictures and the drivers license and the friend contact # could have been done when I made the reservation. Oh, and when you make the reservation, it says NOTHING about needing to bring your passport and a mortgage statement plus having friends that will answer the phone on standby! And the 30 minutes it took was the time I was paying for!! Absolute baloney. I will never ever rent with the self check out system again. The inside of the truck was very dusty and there were tons of dirty streaks on the inside of the windows, so using the windshield wipers did nothing to improve visibility. Only went 18 miles. Had to put in two gallons of gas to get it back up to the quarter tank mark because the truck didn’t come with a full tank of gas. The only attendant at the gas station told me to park two blocks away because his employees needed the parking space. He was the only one there when I came back 2 hours later. It’s frustrating and ridiculous to pay $60 total to use a truck for 18 miles. Never again.

Drop off in Port Angeles Washington was not good. Still haven't received a receipt via email as was promised. Waited quite a while as the proprietor was trying to rent something, but kept having to start over in the computer system. He said it kept timing out. Had some similar problems when renting the truck in Eugene.

one guy working without any help. The computer system wasn't working well and he didn't have a good understanding of it either. I had a reservation already booked online for 9am. But I didn't get out of there until 10am and it severely hindered my moving process as I had a small window of time to move. Will never use this place again.

These guys are awesome. My check-in process was hindered a bit because the staff member was on his own, but he rocked multitasking like a champ! Vehicle was cleaned out and ready to roll. No mechanical issues. No miscommunication. Return process was seamless. I've always enjoyed the service I get from these guys when fueling up. An old-fashioned style of service. Great job!

I requested and confirmed a truck. The day before I was going to rent it a representative from U-haul called to inform me that my unit would not be available, but I could go to another location. This would have added several miles to the job that I was going to do. After asking if the company was going to reduce my mileage and was told no. The representative found another truck at my choosen location. I wound up being satisfied.

Everything was great except when I brought the van back to fill the gas tank back to its original amount. I asked the attendant how much to get it back to 1/2 tank. He said somewhere around 3gallons, and proceeded to fill it. I had only driven 19 miles but didn’t question his ability to quote how much gas was needed. The pump automatically shut off after 3.3 gallons, and when I turned the van back on I was a 1/4 tank above 1/2. Don’t trust the attendants judgement. He said he didn’t benefit from over filling my tank, but he did because he made more money for the gas station. Lame sauce. Spent an extra $10, when I could’ve just spent $3...

I had ordered an appliance dolly, but when we opened the truck at our moving sight, it was not there. I had even asked the check in person that the trick included the dolly because we had ordered one. They did reverse the charge.

The right rear view mirror on the truck I rented could not be adjusted by hand, and therefore I could not see the road on that side. Suggest that this be repaired before renting the vehicle again. Very unsafe.

My only suggestion would be to train the corporate office on answering questions about the equipment. It took 3 people to answer where the gasoline fill pipe was on the cargo van and they still didn't know.

Initial rental website very difficult to navigate and order what is WANTED! I did NOT intend to rent a dolly and didn't realize one had been added to my order. But, the website places things in front of you and you must say No to them and the way to do so is not easily found. Website could be seriously made more user friendly!

I would like to commend the employees at Higgins Petroleum 1796 Willamette St, Eugene, OR 97401 who helped me with the rental of the Uhaul. They were friendly, helpful, and super fast with the initial rental and the return. I have rented from 3 Uhaul locations in Eugene/Springfield, OR and this was the BEST experience. I will definitely rent from this location again!

Online the rate was around $26 but when i got to the store they charged me over $40. I asked why the price was so different and they said he couldn’t change it and take it or leave it. Never using uhaul again

Book the correct location, and then don't call them complaining that they didn't show up. Don't lie to the customer about the closing time of the location so they are forced to book at an inconvenient location. Don't lie to them when they said they already called to talk to you about getting there later as a result of improper booking. Don't call AFTER they leave with the vehicle and tell them they owe am additional $200 because they have to drop the vehicle off at the place they SHOULD have been booked at, at a later time then was promised due to the fact that it took an additional 2 hours to pick up the vehicle from the wrong location.

I ordered online with the option to check in on my phone. When I got there and started the check-in process, the app said that there was no vehicle assigned to me. I tried calling customer service and was on hold for 30 MINUTES before someone picked up. From there, she transferred me and it was another 30 MINUTES before I got someone on the line only to be told that this location doesn't allow for pickup with a mobile device after-hours and I needed to wait for them to open to pick up my truck. Why was I allowed to make a reservation at this time and place if I wasn't going to be able to pick it up? Why did I have to spend a full hour of my moving day on the phone to get it figured out? If I could give zero stars, I would.

Mr/ Higgins, the manager and his employee went out of their ways to check my back in on Tuesday, September 25 after their closing time. I really appreciate their customer service attitude! I was exhausted and hungry when I got back to their business; they had closed out their computer and till because it was more than two hours after their closing time when I pulled in. They reopened the register and computer to get me checked in when they didn't have to do that as they could have just said to come back tomorrow during normal business hours.. I will definitely use their services again next month when I have to finish moving a friend 200 miles to Eugene, Oregon. Thanks so much you two.

The whole insurance thing is so annoying. It makes me feel real negative and makes me want to use something like Enterprise carshare next time. The insurance comes out of nowhere, explain nothing in detail, is very confusing. There isn't something in the initial contract that says "hey you might need insurance here is a way to think about this in detail." It seems like a ploy for money. And even after spending the money, it is uncertain whether it will do anything. As a U-Haul employee once said to me, "U-Haul already makes too much money."

When making my reservation I noticed any time frame within 24 hours was the same single daily rate - sweet! So I selected 4 hours as that was closest to what I needed. I was never told the 4 hour window was critical and therefore returned at my leisure, including standing in the parking lot waiting for someone to finish cleaning a different truck and selecting a few cold beverages form the cooler before finally having my receipt printed...this put my total time over by 23 minutes. I was charged double for 2 rental periods (including twice the insurance charge)!! Then I was told they couldn't refund my money. I was made to feel stupid for not knowing about the time requirement and I felt cheated. The good news; I contacted the main U-Haul customer service and was treated very kindly and refunded for the extra day charge.

They were going to charge me $15.00 to park my car while I used the truck. When I questioned about the parking fee since I rented one of “your” trucks, I was told, “they are not my trucks, they are U-Haul trucks and I only make $8.00.” When I told him that wasn’t my problem, I was told I could go somewhere else. Since I drove my car and had no one to give me a ride, I had to park down the road and walk. I will NEVER rent another vehicle there, EVER! We are going to need a moving truck in a few weeks, now I am really questioning using U-Haul. Why the hell would I pay to park when I just paid to rent a vehicle? NEVER!
