My only problem was that they did not report that I had returned the truck on the day that it was returned. After I called UHaul national number and then the local business, we were able to resolve this. In the end, the rep at Higgins Petroleum was very nice and took care to get the return information into UHaul on time. Everything worked out fine.
THOMAS MIt would be better if there were on-site parking for my personal vehicle while I'm renting.

SUSAN CThis was a gas station parking lot, with no visible signage from several directions. I had to make several laps around the block, and only found it because there was another UHaul truck. The app failed to work, so I dropped off my keys and didn't get a call until 3 days later from a representative asking if I dropped off the vehicle and where I put the keys (in the drop box as directed).
Sarah HThe young man that helped me seemed to be the only person working at the Higgins Petro station and he was indeed very courteous and efficient. I guess having traveled to Eugene with a rental car, where it is provided with a full tank of gas and then returned the same. It would have been more convenient if the same procedure applied at UHaul truck rental locations. I got one with 3/16 of a tank and needed to return it with at least that much. That is more difficult to gauge than, get it filled up, and return it filled up. Just saying, as something that would improve the process for the customer, well for me, as the customer next time.
ROBERT FWould have been helpful to start with a full tank of gas rather than just 3/8. Would then have been easier to return the truck, just filling it up rather than having to fill it back to 3/8 tank. Good guy, though, at the pickup spot; very helpful. Windshield wiper was worn, a problem when driving for a day in the rain. Inspecting basic functions, like changing out wipers that are worn, would make the driving experience better.

EDWARD BWhen I arrived 15 min before my appointment, the rep was working on their personal vehicle in their fueling bay. I told them I had a uhaul rental scheduled in 15 min and I was told they didn't have the truck I reserved. They couldn't provide information to explain why. I called uhaul customer service at that time and was told to direct Higgins petroleum to give me a different truck. I had been there for 30+ min at that time. Higgins petroleum then refused to move forward with the rental, unless I downloaded and used the app to check in/secure the vehicle. I had scheduled the rental (pick-up and drop-off location 1 week ahead of time) to ensure a smooth process. Higgins petroleum then refused to select the drop-off location I had set up during my initial scheduling, which was nearest to my new apartment in Portland. When I asked them for the address of the new drop-off location that they just selected, the guy said "sorry, I'm past that screen...I can't give you the address." I accepted the situation because I had little choice, since I was moving that day, as I had planned long before. Higgins petroleum were very rude, unhelpful, and did not care whether I rented the uhaul through them or not.

SUSAN BThe U-haul rental experience was very good except the location I rented from is also a gas station. Upon returning the truck, I used them to refuel the tank. I explicitly told the person $5 (to match the small amount of fuel that I had actually used). He didn't set the pump correctly and wasn't paying attention. That resulted in a charge of $23.33 instead. I spoke with another staff person and he told me that the only way they could reimburse me was for me to wait while they a manager to come and drain that amount of fuel from the tank. I was not willing to wait the half hour or more that would take. The end result was that I spent ~$20 extra due to a mistake by the gas attendant. Please note both employees had appropriate behavior after the mistake. Please put a procedure in place to resolve such situations. A customer should be able to receive a prompt refund when such mistakes occur.
JOHN HThere was no on-site parking, requiring me to either ask a friend to drive my car home or bike to the location. I was also unsure where to park the truck when I returned it.

mark iThe location was fine. The vehicle had a check engine light on. The mobile check in process was TERRIBLE and SOOOO FRUSTRATING. The app was buggy and would not pick up my location, even though permissions were on. I then went through the website and still had to try a couple of times. What if it hadn't worked? There was no alternative given? Then there was the review process, including calling someone I know. Why could that not have been done when I first submitted that info days ago during the reservations process?? It took me over 25 minutes to get into the vehicle! Terrible start to the day.
Kimberly ETook me an hour to sign in to U-Haul, it kept sending me back to the start of the process online. I was charged an extra $30, I signed up for the drop off that was in Corvallis rather than Lebanon for the option of paying $90 instead of $120, I was still charged $120 even though I dropped it off at that location, and was charged the $23 for gas as well, which I expected, but I should have been charged $30 less.

Todd MNon helpful staff. Non informative on what is going on. Told me I had to call special number, wouldn't access the number for me. Customer service with uhaul was exceptional although. Staff at Higgins not helpful, facility on the inside is very dirty with counter behind register filled w so much trash dirty rags papers ect, very icky in appearance. Should do a drop in surprise inspection.
Shana MMy experience was supposed to be just using the mobile phone. That experience was awful. I was moving my son from out of state and needed to picku up a U-Haul truck to get his stuff from storage and move it to his new appt. In order to get validated it needed my passport which I wasn’t alerted to. This could have been done when I made the reservation rather than when I picked up the truck. Then, we needed to have 3 people that could be called. It would have been helpful to do this in advance. On moving day, things are frenetic and this did not help and could have been avoided. I ended up just going through the U-Haul person on-site.

Micheal RRead my previous rating. Uhaul is a rip off. Cost me twice as much as I was quoted. These guys charged me an extra 15 dollars for no reason. And the app is a piece of shit don't use it till they redo it. All in all I feel like I have been ripped off. I have nothing good to say about uhaul.

Jim GUhaul's hidden fees are ridiculous and predatory - I will never use you again and will recommend to friends to just utilize moving services for 10% more cost and 100% less headache

Art HThe first issue was with the 24/7 service. It required two contacts after I submitted my license. It took about 20 minutes to get it approved. The second issue is I received a warning after Galway to my destination that the gas tank cap was loose. When I looked at the warning I realized the gas tank was on empty. It appeared someone has siphoned the gas. I had to call roadside assistance to come and fill the gas tank. The roadside assistance took over an hour to show up. Someone called me from HP Petroleum and said this happens all the time at this location and they were sorry they didn’t check the gas tank before I drove off. Luckily I made it to the first destination but this made our day super stressful.
Mark TTook an hour to get the truck. Was put in the wrong truck and called en route and asked to return later. Was charged for Fuel the replacement truck did not have. Was charged for equipment (dolly) that was not provided.
David FYou can drop off the truck here but no customer service is available. You need to self-return the truck using the app. No return and refund service, either.
Rika INot very friendly. When I first got to the location there was a guy sitting down. I pulled up and asked him where I should park to return. He ignored me. I got out of the truck and he got up and walked away. There was another guy that just said leave it and we will take care of it. Like he just wanted me to drop it and leave and not have to bother with me. Not a friendly experience.

Doug HI know that the location was short staffed, and the guys was trying to handle it all, but I had to fight charges the entire time. I took a picture of the gas gauge before I left in the parking lot. I drove around 7 miles in town, put gas in the car to bring it back to a 1/4 tank, and then was told by the employee that the computer said it needed to be 3/8 tank and I should just go put more gas in. He was trying to charge me $25 extra for not putting enough gas in the vehicle. Luckily I had the time stamped picture. I won’t be renting from this location again. I rent trucks about once a month. The location in Glenwood, OR is excellent.
Meredith BWe were physically at the location and talked to a worker He said we had to check back in the U-Haul online only even though we were there at the location then the phone would not take pics so it didn’t work right It was an ordeal so we put in box and left truck there

Lucas SThe mobile check in process was incredibly frustrating. I had filled in all of the information that should have been needed prior to arriving. I then had it enter a bunch of it again, including bizarre things like 3 different phone numbers, and was constantly sent back the beginning. I finally gave up and just went into the gas station, and had to do it all again! Every single step of the process was inefficient, and I ended up running extremely late because I didn't factor pick up taking 45+ minutes!

Esp considering the fact that the truck in rented had a hole drilled into the gas tank/ & i just so happened to swap it out when only one person was on shift + I was on a time crunch + every pump at the station was full & customers wanted to purchase items at the store!
