Returning my truck was fast and simple. I used the online touchless return, and the key drop box was easy to find. Really appreciated being able to return my truck without interacting with other people during this COVID-19 health crisis. While the truck wasn't deep cleaned/disinfected prior to my renting it, I performed disinfection of touched surfaces upon return, so I know the truck was safe for the next family to use. The two gentlemen running the hillsboro location were polite. However my overall experience with uhaul was a complete disaster. I was bounced around 3 different locations to get a rental. Was promised the second location was secured and ready and nobody was even at the location. All sorts of deals and discounts were promised only to get charged additional fees after being told i didnt need to pay anymore out of pocket. The additional fees became a burden and put additional hardships on my family. I would not recommend uhaul to a homeless man. There are much better options available with more reliability. Ive had to jump through hoops to get this settled and I'm still waiting days after my promised refund. Uhaul as a company itself is a complete disaster and not worth the effort. If you need a truck that bad go elsewhere.John T.

I was overcharged. I was charged for 2 dollies that were not in the truck when I picked it up. $7.00/day per dollie for a total of around $70. I called to get a refund and no one will help me.Kami H.

We received a text in the afternoon that our requested truck size was only available at a location further away, adding 1 hr to our driving. Then we had a phone call from the pick up location wanting our arrival time since they were closing soon. Probably won't do business with them again. When I asked about the possibility that I might need additional days, it was explained that it would only be an additional daily charge. I was not aware that it may also include a fee of $50 for each reservation after mine at the drop off location that could not be fulfilled if I still had the truck. I was told I could pick up the truck in Taylorville which is where I needed it. The night before, someone from Hillsboro, IL called to tell me that I had to pick it up there. 30 miles away from where I was told! When I brought the truck back I was told I went over on the mileage. Yeah cause the truck wasn't where it was supposed to be. The man was so rude, my son-in- law, a veteran, had to ask him to drop his attitude. I'll never use Uhaul again. And that was my third time in a month I used your trucks. Never again!!donna N.

Local personnel were helpful, and marked the prior cosmetic damage to the tow dolly. They attempted to set up my preferred drop off location but Uhaul website didn't find the Calcutta OH Uhaul so they had to pick next closest oneDelbert S.

Very, very unhappy with U-Haul service. When reserving the truck from Pawn World II in Centralia, IL (a month in advance of move), I was told I would be picking it up at that location. Two days prior to the move I receive a call from U-Haul indicating that I would have to go to Hillsborough, IL to pick up the truck - a 3 hour round trip from Centralia. This was unacceptable since I had movers loading the truck at 10:00 a.m. the morning of the move. Your rep could not find me an available truck closer; ultimately I was given the truck 1 day earlier so I could pick it up the day before the move vs the day of. This consumed an entire afternoon which was suppose to be used for packing and put us way behind. Aggravating, disappointing, frustrating are just a few words to describe this experience. I will think twice before using U-Haul again.lynn S.

Try not to lie to the customer about giving them a price reduction on mileage. Your company was unable to give the truck in the city I requested , instead I had to pick up in a different location which affected the mileage. You then told me I could have the truck for 99 cents per mile. When you billed me you charged me 1.29 per mile. I have contacted Uhaul about this and after 2 busuness days have not gotten any response. I always had bad luck with your company but decided to give to one more try. I can honestly say that it will be the last try. If you can't even keep your word when doing business then I would rather drive miles out of my way and pay extra to use Budget or Penske in the future. Piss poor customer service from start to finish!!!!!!!PAUL F.

I have no issues with the location. The u-haul service was expensive, I paid $194 + $50 and was told it needed to be returned in 6 hours by the uhaul agreement. RIDICULOUS to say the least. I had to load a 20' truck, drive 60 miles unload a 20' truck and drive back 60 miles within 6 hours. It is unlikely I will use the service again, not worth the $244 for 6 hours of use. And charging 40 Â¢ more per mile on weekends which include all day Friday, adds insult to injury. Friday is a weekday until after 5 pm. Your vehicle was overdue for its oil change by who knows how many miles. Will not recommend your service in the future.John L.

Found out 1 day prior that I had to pick up truck and trailer in different locations 80+ miles away. Storage facility that household goods were being stored at was nearly impossible to navigate through with items. Cancelled storage and stored elsewhere.JULIE M.
