My recent rental experience was very poor and I felt that there was gross negligence in safety, staff training, and a complete failure of customer support, resulting in significant financial, health, and emotional distress. 1: Critical Safety & Operational Negligence a) Faulty Equipment & Dangerous Advice: The initial trailer had non-functional webbing. When this was noted, the staff member suggested an unacceptable and dangerous solution: towing the vehicle with only one securing strap, a clear violation of basic safety principles and cargo securement laws. b) Technical Incompetence: The owner and staff struggled with basic securing procedures (threading the ratchet, securing chains). c) Regulatory Violation: The attempted setup and advice are a direct violation of the National Safety Code for Motor Carriers Standard 10 (adopted by New Brunswick), which requires adequate, securement systems that prevent load movement. d) Establish Safe Staging Area: A designated, safe, off-street staging area for necessary documentation (photo taking) must be established to prevent future customers from being forced to stand in the middle of traffic (Main Street) during inclement weather. Provide protective covers for electronic devices customer needs to use to photograph the truck and trailer. Section 2: Unacceptable Financial & Health Burden U-Haul's operational failure resulted in me personally absorbing significant, unnecessary costs: a) Forced Diversion & Lost Time: Driving to Berry Hill, NB and back to Sackville, NB to collect a functional trailer wasted over 2 hours and required extra gas/mileage. b) Health and Financial Impact: The major delay caused by this failure disrupted my schedule, forcing an overnight motel stay due to severe fatigue, further adding to my financial and physical burden.

I was sent to a location further away and also given a larger truck. I was already nervous driving from NB to ON in on let alone a larger vehicle. The time, location of pickup was not at all even tho my reservation was in two weeks early. I also had a tire issue as it was missing a chunk as did the windshield have a crack no one notices till after. . the tire repair set my trip back 5 hrs and as a single mom and two kids this was not welcomed at all. Even tho there was a discount for the travel to pick up the truck. I don't feel it is up to uhaul to decide what i drive. The tire was in very bad shape. We are lucky we saw it and did not cause an accident. The steel was exposed. There was no follow up after the repair. I had rented uhaul few times and this was by far my worst experience. Reserving a vehicle to drive far distances should not be changed on. People with such last minute notice. Let alone the tire damage I was sent on the road in.

Joshua GNo furniture pads available but given a credit. The truck had no straps but thankfully brought our own.
KATHLEEN LShe was 15 minutes late arriving to rent the truck and when I asked about the mileage she said couldn't check but 10 minutes later I got my bill.
MARTIN WTo begin with should be explained that if you take it out of province that the price per km goes up. People at Hirtles store were very helpful and nice. I will never rent a u haul again. 160 dollars to go 54 miles is ridiculous. Never again
