Horrible experience, reserved a 15 with an appliance dolly. The person never returned it on time and couldn’t find a 15 in the entire city. Finally ended up with a 10 with no ramp and no dolly absolutely terrible experience and service
William T2 items that concern me: 1. This truck had a 1/4 tank....we filled to 1/4 tank upon return, but UHAUL charged me an extra $10 gas fee. 2. I rented 2 trucks, I was VERY unhappy that i was called the night before to inform me that i had to pick up each truck at different locations. When I reserved, I asked for same pickup location. This caused me a lot of STRESS!!!!!!

Tommy FI reserved 20ft track but they only have 17 ft and they were not prepared. The person In the counter had yo call someone and wake him up after waiting almost 30 minutes to complete the process. I reserved for 8 AM but I didn't left the place until 9 AM.

Gerald BI was charged a fee of $15 for the safe move after I told the guy numerous times that I did not want to include that. I called them to have it removed, i was given the wrong number to contact. After googling the U-haul number and contacting them about my issue they told me that my account was still showing active two hours after dropping off the truck. That was not the location I chose but for some reason after I made my reservation for Kempsville it got transferred to the Indian lakes location.
Marlie MDolly was provided with my uhaul. I had to go to Home Depot and rent one for $30 for the day.
JUSTIN MMake available online rentals if no one is indeed renting the trucks. On the app it would not let me rent a truck even though they were sitting there unreserved. The Gentlemen at the store was able to override that and allow me to rent from his location same day instead of going elsewhere.
ERICA YI reserved a trailer for pick up at a different U-Haul location. Unfortunately they didn’t have the equipment I’d reserved. So I was diverted to this alternate location. While not a full service U-Haul store, these guys had what I needed and got me on the road quickly.
Patrick OWe reserved a 15 foot truck from the app. When we picked up the truck, the person managing the u-haul doesn’t even operate from the location. Instead they gave me a phone to speak to him through speaker. Not only did they not have the truck we reserved, we had to take the only truck left which was a 20 footer. And when we had to pay with card, we had to read the card number, expiration, zip code, and security code out loud on the speaker phone as other customers listen in. It was a gas station. Felt so unsecured about the whole operation. Just hope no one else was listening in to the credit card numbers.
Dave AThis location does not have the ability to check out rentals with the staff that work at the location, they call someone on their cell phone who actually processes the check-out of equipment. They did not have all of the equipment on my rental agreement, then attempted to tell me that it wasn't on there. I ended up having to find the equipment myself by calling Uhaul dispatch.

Gildardo BMake sure trucks are up to date on maintenance and up to date inspection stickers. Make sure a walk through is being done to indicate any defects to trucks.
Dhevon BTruck was unsafe, with very loose steering, grinding from worn out brake pads, whining in steering column, and the truck backfired on me multiple times throughout the rental period. I would like my rental to be reviewed with potential compensation being considered for a less than favorable experience. I can be reached at 757-693-1296.
Craig BI understand that this location is a mini-mart / gas station, but it needs to be set up so the attendant doesn’t have to call his boss, wait for him to call back in with verification that I’ve rented the trailer. They should be set up so everything is done onsite - not over the phone. Absolutely a waste of time.
Daniel WBeware they are doing fraud. Arrived with quote for $45 they tried to charge my card for $94 after an hour for it down to $55. Booked 1 day returned 2 hours before due. They refused to give me a receipt said would be mailed to me. It was 2 hours later. Charged for an extra day and gas. Odometer showed 14 miles driven. I have receipt for 2 gallons of gas added. They still charged me for gas.
Dawn JThe receiving personnel are the folks who run a convenient store. They had to call someone who then told them what to do with the trailer.
Benny gAuthorized drop off location. No paper work given at drop off. Took 3 days for equipment to be entered as received. Had to contact uhaul customer service to verify all was well. In the end it all worked out. Would recommend pickup/drop offs be done at actual uhaul centers.
Joseph FThe truck was not terribly clean. The real problem, though, was that it was parked in a muddy field, rather than on the paved area right next to it. This meant the truck was immediately stuck in the mud, and had to be towed out, a process that took three hours. That was entirely unsatisfactory. An employee stated that this was not the first time a truck had been stuck in the mud, either.
Allen LChoose what business U-Haul contract with wisely. This business did not know the truck was on empty until February 20,2023 (the same day I picked up the truck). The guy said he was going to contact U-Haul to let them know it was on empty but I’m guessing he never did. If he would have done what he said he was going to do I wouldn’t be having this problem. The truck was not clean. I had to clean it up the best I could.
Constance MClean the Uhaul and have the supplies that was paid for. Have the uhaul fueled up beforehand? It was at 1/8 at the start. Acted like they didn’t know about Uhaul rentals, took forever for them to verify account and hand over the keys.
Brandon FThe attendant at the store was not empowered to make decisions nor had direct access to the UHAUL management system. They were getting screen shots sent to a personal mobile device regarding reservations. Playing games of telephone to resolve issues. Extremely unprofessional and inefficient. They insisted the customer call 1800 uhaul while they called an off site manger. Took roughly an hour to get the keys to a UHAUL which in the past has taken me 10 minutes or less at other locations. The Indian Lakes location needs to get with the program.
BRADLEY BI was charged a fuel charge even though I filled up the tank and the attendant acknowledged I was good to go. I didn’t realize it till I arrived at home an my invoice was emailed to me. I emailed customer service but have yet to hear anything about a credit. Very frustrating.
