The owner/man who runs the location (376 classon Ave, Brooklyn) was over 90 min late. He called 15 min before the scheduled pick up saying it would be approx 20 min late for my scheduled pick up time, in which we arrived at the location for pick up. We then waited outside the office which was supposed to open at 1pm until 2:30pm. He ignored our phone calls and another renter also waiting for 45 min. until he called and said he would be another 10 minutes, but it would be 45 more. Once he arrived he promptly left us there for another 15-20 min until he could find the location of the vans without communicating what was going on. He never apologized and the meeting was chaotic and unprofessional throughout. He also kept saying that â€œhe was doing us a favorâ€ as if somehow we had been difficult instead of him. The van had also not been cleaned when we picked it up and had sticky cake smeared all over the front dashboard/radio. We had to text him the location of the van when we dropped it off, which felt weird but the least of our concerns at that point. We never heard back from him again. He also instructed us not to use the uhaul app on our return but instead text him. We were nearly 2 hours late picking up our furniture. We also had to drive around for 30 minutes looking for a spot to drop off the van, which admittedly is not this guy's fault but a bad business model as we then ran up the mileage on the rental and had to pay more. Overall, this experience was terrible throughout. We're moving in two weeks and will find another service to rent from. I'd genuinely ask for a refund because it was so truly awful but it would not be worth the effort to interact with this man again. Honestly this location should be shut down or given to new management based on our experience and the google reviews.Elise S.

Have a vehicle on site on the time of reservation. Have someone on site at the time of reservation. Give your guys proper phones so the uhaul app actually works. Have a parking spot to return the vehicle.can S.

Terrible customer service. Representative was leaving pick-up location before I arrived, and I had to chase him down to get my rental. He called me (and left no voicemail) 1 hour before my pick-up time, to tell me he was leaving and that I needed to get there. However, when renting a car, typically the protocol is you can pick-up your vehicle on or after your scheduled time. This was at 2:00 pm in the afternoon. Not even close the listed operating hours. Also, the van was dirty and the side mirrors were broken and wrapped in duct-tape.Susanne M.

The truck was not available until 12:10 PM (i hour 10 minutes late). My scheduled pickup was for 11 AM and I arrived at 10:55. Jason told me "I will just have to wait" and kept blaming the U-Haul mobile app for all the issues. I will never rent from that location (if you can call a booth on a sidewalk a location) again. Having to comb the streets to find parking when returning the truck is also a pain.Justin F.

My reservation was for 10:30am. The truck didn't arrive until 11:30am. Then I was informed that the 3 dozen furniture pads/blankets that I ordered in advance were not available. While driving it, the engine light came on. It started raining later in the day and water was pouring down from the ceiling onto my passenger and onto the steering wheel and myself. There is also no parking to return the truck and finding a parking spot in NYC for a 15 ft truck is near impossible. I would NEVER rent from this location again. Extremely disappointed!Sarah S.

We booked the return at a location most convenient to our destination. Shortly after we left Durham we received a text from U-Haul telling us not to return it to Park Slope but to return it to Jenvic Corp. When we arrived at 376 Classon Avenue, there is no "location". The individual is virtual with only a drop box on the wall that is extremely difficult to find. We called the number and the owner told us to NOT leave the truck. He didn't want it. He does not do one-way. So we were stuck in Brooklyn on a 100 degree day with a truck and no where to put it. After a long call on the U-Haul 800 number finally U-Haul said to leave it in the street somewhere, but it was our responsibility to find a legal spot. It was the worst experience returning the vehicle I can possibly imagine.JOHN S.
This was wildly unclear process-wise, I luckily ran into someone else who was looking for their UHaul, and had a number to call. Location does not exist anymore, apparently the building was sold, so myself and two other people were confused on where the uhaul location was at when we were trying to pick up our vehicles. I guess this is just a street uhaul now? All paperwork just done on the sidewalk... Furniture cart and furniture blankets were not available for myself or anybody else that was waiting in line with me even though we paid for them. How is this inventory not tracked on your system? How am I supposed to carry and protect my couch if I'm told at the last minute that the accessories I paid for were not actually going to be provided? I would rather know this ahead of time so that I could prepare, rather than being left with no protection or furniture cart for my furniture! New Yorkers don't have cars, so we can't just go to Home Depot and pick up furniture pads and buy carts at the last minute, especially when movers are in the clock and elevator reservations only last 4 hours. Overall this was a disorganized and poor experience, I will warn all my friends from now on to avoid this UHaul location.Thomas B.

Please refund my drop off as I called and confirmed to drop off in the truck in Chelsea, multiple associates were unhelpful. My parents had to drive 90 minutes out of the way to drop off in Brooklyn vs right next to my apartment. And then lied to me saying it was fine if my parents dropped off the truck.REBECCA M.

It should be listed that this location doesn't have an actual location, but that you'll have to find street parking yourself. I was circling for 1 hour trying to find parking, and to then have to parallel park a big truck by yourself is not what I had hoped for. Won't be using this location again.Anna B.
UHaul allowed me to book a truck for 7:30am and said we could do 24/7 check in. However, this site is not set up for that feature and we waited an 1hour and half till someone from the location could come and help us with our rental. This led to a delay in our moving time.Christopher A.

Difficult to find. No lot. Must fight for street parking to park the rental. Unclear instructions even though we called.RICHARD L.
When we went to pick up our truck there was no U-Haul location. There happened to be a U-Haul truck on the corner, so we asked the person standing by the truck if they knew where the U-Haul location was. The guy said that he was the U-Haul location. It took us 45 minutes to get our truck.When I asked where the drop off location was the man said we needed to Parkette ourselves and then drop the keys off in a Dropbox. I was aghast because I did not realize that it was U-Haul's policy to make customers park trucks on the street. I own my own car so I know how difficult parking is, no less late at night, no less a U-Haul truck that is 15 feet long. Needless to say when I got back or it took me almost an hour to park the truck. I was at my wits end about where to park it and so I actually called U-Haul to see if I could drop the truck off at the Park slope location. I do not think you should allow the person we rented the truck from to be a U-Haul representative he was rude unprofessional and we had a terrible experience. The truck was beat up it ran very poorly it wouldn't start at one point, And it was dirty insideILYA A.

Staff was professional and did a good job but unfortunately this location does not have space to park so I had to waste a lot of time and miles looking for legal parking around the area. It would be better for customers if they have their own space to park like other uhaul I have used have.Iriana M.
Try to avoid this location if you can. The guy that "runs" this location, made me circle the busy Brooklyn block in search for parking for 30 minutes (30 minutes of mileage that I paid for, btw) instead of coming downstairs to help out. I understand that he's been put in an uncomfortable place by Uhaul not providing a garage or lot for pickups and drop offs (not at all clear to me when I rented the vehicle). But he pretty immediately got angry at me and told me "I don't want to make this any more than what it is" and "You have to find a legal spot for the truck on the street" and then, "talk to my friend at the bodega who has a spot on the street and is leaving in 20 minutes. Maybe he'll give you his spot in 20 minutes" and finally, "Oh yeah, I have a garage that you can park in, just park there." The last thing anyone wants to do at the end of a long day moving is fight New York City street parking for an extra 45 minutes+. Not amused by this Uhaul experience. Oh, and BTW, there was a brake light out, the engine made a weird squealing sound that I called him about as soon as I got in the van and started it up and had it running for a minute. He said "don't worry about it, it'll be fine." I didn't have time to protest at that point. It was moving day after all. But he was right, it was fine for me. No cops saw me braking and whatever the whining is will break down on someone else, not me. But it wasn't exactly comforting or safe.Robert H.

First of all the after hour drop-off should be stopped on this location. It may sound like u-haul is doing a customer a favor (by doing 24 hour return) but its not really the case at all. I had to spend 45min to 1 hour finding the street parking around this location which was a complete waste of time. If I knew this was the case I would have never choose that location as a drop-off. As a suggestion (Number # 1) please put that in bold letters on your website that parking at this location is very limited (only 1 u-haul truck) and street parking had to be found which can be super hard to find at time. So after finding the parking, I took photos of truck, mileage etc and started walking to the drop-off location which was 10 min away from where i parked and right before I was about to drop off the key i thought I would just try to return the truck online and found out that it was not allowing to choose the photos from the ones i took like few minutes ago. It was forcing it to take the photo right with the camera, so to do that i had to walk back 10 min back to the truck. (If I would have dropped the keys i have no idea what would I have done). Then after walking back 10 min again I returned the truck online via taking photos and all right from camera and then look an uber to home via dropping the keys on the way. Suggestion # 2: Think about the user experience here. Do you really need photo of the truck with odometer reading and all? Does photos serve any purpose here? After the keys were dropped off can't all this be done and verified by the representative the day anyways because someone has to pick the truck anyways?? Suggestion #3 : If you must have to have these photos please fix the damm website to take the photos from the image gallery instead of camera right away (Its literal few lines of code change in the system) One positive feedback: I would like to say that even though I am harsh on the review because as a customer thats something I didn't expect, I would like to appreciate the customer service representative (because she stayed on the call with me this whole time which i do appreciate so definitely it was a great help and would really appreciate that). U-haul certainly need more people like her on their team.Kush D.

I reserved blankets and dollies WEEKS in advance. When I showed up, NONE of them were available and I was still charged for their usage. I had to go out of pocket to buy a dolly and blankets. If anything, you should owe me money.Peter F.

The location was understaffed for the situation at hand. Due to a major snow storm the day before, all vehicles had to be dug out and maneuvered over the ice. The sole attendant had to spent approx 30 min with each customer to do this - nothing was ready to go at the time of the reservation. The nature of the location requires street parking which adds another stressor to the process - after a long day of moving you have to hunt for a spot big enough for one of these vans. The attendant was obviously doing the best he could given the circumstance, but I would avoid this location at all costs.Jordan C.
we had a 6 day rental, but let our rep know several times that we only needed the truck for 4 days. We were assured that it was fine and we could just drop off the truck anytime within the 6 days. When we went to drop off the truck on day 4, the drop off location was not expecting us and didn't really have room for the truck. the drop off was in NYC so the space is very limited. He was super kind and helpful, but it was a little stressful for him and for us since there was no way we could keep the truck parked on our street. we were lucky he had one parking space for us.Matthew B.
