The fuel level was marked on receipt 1/8 tank above the actual gauge level. Other than that, zero complaints or issues.

The 24/7 was/is too confusing!
Pennie FExcellent, thank you!
COLBY RMake sure your staff knows to take pictures of the equipment before it leaves the property--just because John Day-area operates on their own kind of schedule, doesn't mean you treat your customers like crap and say things like "we close at 12 PM on Saturdays" "we shut our doors and lock them at 12 PM" My rental pick-up time was for 12 PM at this John Day Polaris location. Hey, I get it, you close at 12 on Saturdays BUT YOU ARE A U-HAUL RENTAL DESTINATION. You should have someone available 24/7 to assist because that is all there is in Grant County Oregon. Stop being lazy and have someone on call for people in need, in Grant County Monday through Sunday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
KIMBERLY DWe needed to wait almost an hour as the 4x8 trailer reserved wasn't there so they substituted the 5x8 and the person on staff didn't know the procedure to do the swap so we didn't leave there until after 9am getting there just after 8am. Also, the drop off procedure and needing to do it electronically wasn't described to avoid the $20 check in fee plus an additional 2 days were charged as the drop off location in Rockville MD was days late getting their paperwork in order
Ken HWe were lied to about where the drop off location was. Causing unbelievable stress and anxiety. We were threatened with fines and told we would go to jail for theft . It was absolutely awful. My elderly mother had a mild heart attack over the stress . After all that we did not get all of our deposit back after being told we would. This should never happen to anyone especially an elderly woman .
Linda DGreat service
JOSEPH GParking/pull out was a bit tight
ANDREW MI am not sure you can, the gentleman helping me was knowledgeable and very courteous. He provided good customer service
MATTHEW PWe dropped off during bussiness closure due to holiday. A cranky guy told us where to park and where the drop box was
Jacki MEverything was above and beyond my expectations.
MARC Sgreat repeat experience
Traci DI was double charged and ut is taking me a while to get my money back from my bank since Uhaul is saying you don't see it. I would use anyone but uhaul in the future. If I could I would give a zero star rating.
kelly hLocation held a transporter on short notice (which was very much in demand later in the morning) until I was able to get there to pick it up. When I arrived, it was there waiting for me. Staff was very friendly and helpful!
david gI basically had to just go through scheduling department because when I started at reserving it a month in advance between Burns and Jon day it was just a real headache especially with Burns and the scheduling department was the one that was great. The drop off location was told City come to find out it was actually Clayton so that was really screwy for us so we wasted gas and time going there and the guy there would’ve been ripping me off had I dropped it off at a wrong location anyway and they would’ve double charge me, but he said I was over my mileage but when I got it to the right location, she said no I was underage so that guy would’ve stole money from me so that guy in Boise city Oklahoma is crooked. And I do not recommend anybody going to him.
ASENDA NNot a single thing; I'm always very happy to rent from U-Haul. Thanks again.
Lawrence HIt would be nice to know how much the price is when picking up the rental piece. Instead I got charged more when I brought it back.
ANDREW WThere was nobody there. It was a weekend so that is fair. But the hidden fees were garbage and your company should be ashamed. I will recommend others against using u haul in the future.
Darren PDropped off after hours.
Jason BWill use this location again here soon again to move more stuff to John Day.
steven bIt would be highly appreciated if there could be a sign placed either in the storefront window, at the entrance, or by the parked U-Hauls, specifying the designated location for U-Haul trailer drop-off during non-operational hours. If there was a sign, I was unable to see it and was worried about leaving the U-Haul trailer in the wrong spot.
Carolyn SThe local guy was fine, other than not being able to pick it up Sunday or Saturday? too. The reservation line was confusing, and the billing was not right either, the wrong credit card got billed, but hopefully straightened out. Got charged for insurance? But didn't ask for it.
David LThe owner of the Polaris dealership, Mr Haberle, that runs the u-haul site in John Day was hanging out with his friend in their usual hang out spot in the corner of their shop and told me I would need to come back later to drop off the trailer when another employee came in later that day. He gave me the impression that I was an inconvenience to him. I've turned in u-hauls into him several times before and he and it is the same thing. Not just extremely poor customer service but he seems to want to go out of his way to make a person feel like he is inconveniencing him. I sure wish you could find another business you could partner with in John Day or the surrounding area.
Cam MShort-staffed - took a long time to be helped, though attendant was courteous while we waited.
Susie RCan't think of a thing!, I would definitely come back to both of the places. I'm 66 years old and have used U-Haul many times, they really are the only real chose when you move yourself!, all the other companies are just want to be's.
Roy PEasy return
Blanche MSuper friendly staff. They were very helpful and accommodating.
Stephen hReturned on a Sunday and they were closed
Tyrone HWe’re supposed to be open for return of vehicle on Saturday. No one was there, and this became an issue with having to do the return online.
Bradley HAnswered all my questions and allowed me to drop the transport after hours for my convenience. Good to have this local resource for equipment if needed. The employees are friendly and helpful.
Thomas BI rented 2 of the same size trailers at 2 different locations this past month. The one in Prineville cost over $100 more than the latest one I rented from John Day Polaris. I feel that Prineville is not a place I would rent from again given they gouged me for extra money. $370 versus $257.
Jacki MGreat job thanks
Hope HQuick to help and get me going.
Dan BOwner was very helpful and accommodating. Made some calls, shuffled things around to help us.
brad nPhillip was awesome and made everything very simple!
Danetta LThis place went above and beyond in an almost impossible situation. Very professional and accommodating. As for Uhaul, I have rented several times and never had an issue. I realize times are busy but if you are going to call it a reservation then it needs to be just that or you may as well refer to it as a crap shoot. I felt a 6 week reservation should not have been a crap shoot. Again KUDOS to the John Day location. I think his name is Jason...my apologies if I am wrong but that guy knows his stuff and has top notch customer service skills!!!!
Christine KHave the truck available that was ordered. No contact made to let us know otherwise. Spoke with regional dispatch, said they could not contact previous customer to verify change in return—but phone numbers are verified so it did not make sense. Frustrating. Not pleased with this rental experience at all.
Robert SCouldn't have been better!
Dan DI was told that it could be returned anytime on the 20th. I was charged extra because it was late, but was told it needed to be returned by 8am. Everyone should know the correct times.
Debbie LCheck all of your tire pressures fluids and expect a check engine light to come on. We had to replace three of the six tires on our 26 foot truck and had a check engine light blinking the whole ride. Asked if this vehicle was checked and serviced before we picked it up, or even saw it for that matter. We were told yes. When we got the vehicle down the road and checked tire pressures - one was flat and off the rim, another was at 30 psi (110 is recommended running psi), and a third had an inch and a half gash in the side wall and was at 30 psi too. Engine was misfiring while going up hill and upon delivery to our one way destination facility we were told the codes made it un-rentable. Had a service in idaho too and they said it was fine to run on the misfiring engine for the remaining 2100 miles of our trip. Pretty terrible all around experience.
Jeff PVery friendly
GARY HRequired to drive from baker to John day in snowstorm over5000 foot passes to get the truck that as promised in baker. Took alternate route back to baker but also included 5000 foot snow covered passes. Los 4 hours ha was needed to pack truck in daylight hours
