Dropped off after hours. So there wasn't any interaction with anyone regarding the rental. Cannot judge the look of the location for the same reason. I can say that there was not any directions posted on the door directing where to park, drop keys, or how to conduct what needed to happen after hours. Thankfully we noticed the small key drop box on a truck in the parking lot 50' away from the door. Dropped keys in there & attempted to checkout online. Ended up having to call, which the waits are atrocious. Once a human answered, it was a speedy process.TAMARA FRANCES F.

It was great! After we got situated we were promised another truck it did not come through! We took the van instead at another location which put us behind we had to get our son moved! And barely got his items in there! But luckily it all worked out!Cynthia W.

Dude tried/ did charge me for everything. Somehow there was addl 73 miles (I told him speedo was not accurate. He could care less. He tried to charge me cleaning fee for truck thst probably has never been detailed. Was he expecting me to mop the floors and detail interior??? I've tried to explain that Uhaul app does not work Pluss there is no reception at his store (how convenient) and that truck had issues, but I was over charged any way. It actually felt light he was out to find something to charge for from beginning. Worst experience I've ever had with UhaulPAUL O.
Both sides of the truck was covered in mud as some was on the inside as well. I drove the truck less than 40 miles in dry conditions all on asphalt roads, returned the truck in the same condition as I received it and was charged a 15 dollar cleaning fee.joe M.

The owner was hateful & rude. Because I didn't have a mask he made me step back out of his building & acted like I had a contagious disease & didn't want to be near me. Fuel used calculator for refilling back to outgoing fuel is a joke mine said 3 gallon I put in 4 n drove off I looked before checking in it was not where it should be took additional 4 gallons I suppose you make as much off refueling charges as you do truck rental.Hertz was caught and fined for this in Florida some years back.RODNEY S.

We were charged fees that were never explained to us. In addition, we were charged an "after hours" fee of $20. We did not choose this location to drop, Uhaul did. We were charged because this location is not open on Sunday when the Uhaul was due to be returned. Location open Sat 9-1145 and closed Sunday. We dropped off the truck on Saturday night. NOT our fault the place wasn't open.Rhondajane K.
The app has lots of work needed still. When I arrived at the location and tried to pickup the truck it told me I wasn't there. Also when returning the vehicle After finishing the process with the app was clunky and repetitive. Tapping in the knowledge and trying to swap the gas hand indicator while also needing pictures was not needed.Tony M.

I was having issues with the online stuff. I went into the store that was open and had no customers, I was wearing a mask and when I asked for assistance he told me do it on line and not to come back in do it in the parking lot. The rudest person I have ever encountered in 12 yrs in pikeville. I will never rent again if that is my only choice i will do without.Tina P.

It was a awful experience from the time I stepped in the store, I will never go back to this location again, and will tell everyone I know about my awful experience at this store. I walked into the store with my mother, we would both masked up. There was a signed that said â€œplease wait hereâ€ when the man acknowledged me I took a step forward. He Rudely stated â€œ go back to the sign you can't come up to the counterâ€ okay I get it it's COVID. I tell him why I am here he said â€œ you were supposed to be here from 9-9:30 am, it's 9:32â€ I explained there was a wreck on my road I can't get out, then tells me â€œU HAUL doesn't want you all in the store, you are suppose to check in on your phone.â€œ I got a text saying the following â€œ Due to COVID-19, we are encouraging every customer to fully complete the Online Check-in at https://www.uhaul.com/Orders/. U-Haul res #25179818 is scheduled for 9:00 AM on 7/15/2020 to 9:00 AM on 7/16/2020. Visit uhaul.com for online check-in.â€ The messaged saying encouraged and not required. But I did fill out the information like driver's license because I am a understanding person of COVID. But. I like to do in person stuff because it makes sure it truck is in good condition, which I will get to later on in this complaint. I tell the man â€œOhhh okay, I will do that.â€ He explains about how to get the keys. I start to walk out, look at my cell phone and have no service, I tell him that and he just looks at me helpless. I walk out, me and my mother were astonished by how we were treated. I go to find cell service so I can get the keys, it tells me I'm in the wrong area because of GPS, yup because I didn't have cell service at the store. I go back and Explain the situation saysâ€œI was gonna tell you to call me and So we can do it over the phoneâ€ I had to explain again I DONT HAVE CELL SERVICE. He saysâ€ oh well I can just do it on the computerâ€, why we couldn't do this the first time beats me. I go out and get the keys, the way to identify was the truck was difficult. Me and my mother find the truck that we thought it was because the key unlocked the door, we checked to make sure the dolly was in the truck. It wasn't so I went and complained. He says â€œ you went to the wrong Oneâ€ he could have told me which truck it was in the first place. We finally get in the truck, it had 5 more miles then what it was suppose to. I drove the truck a whole 19 miles, and had to put 4.6 gallons of gas back to 7/8 full like he told me too. That's a lot of gas for how much I didn't drive it. Either the person before me didn't put enough gas in or there are major issues with the gas milage. Either one is unacceptable Like I said, it was a awful experience and I hope you address it so others don't have this experience as well. I was charged 2 extra charges on my account!! No explanation, no answer when I call, no response to my emails!!! We rented the cargo van for 2 days and got charged close to $500!! Not at once thoe, they continue to charge my account with $72 charges and $93 charges!Aunde J.
I dropped off the trailer 12 hours early, but after the store closed. I was unable to check in the trailer because I did not have cell service. I took pictures and drove down the street, but was unable to upload the photos to return the trailer. I arrived at opening the following morning to make sure the trailer was returned appropriately. On approach, the owner yelled at me from 30ft away to maintain six feet distance from him. I explained to him why I was there and the reason I was unable to return the trailer online. He threatened me with a $20 fee for making him return the trailer and said thankfully I showed up or he would have charged me extra. The entire conversation was him yelling and scolding me for not having cell service in a new town. At that time, it was still before the time that the trailer was supposed to be returned. Mr. Johnson was far from helpful after moving across the state and unloading two trailers and hardly the welcoming face of a new neighbor. I chose to return my UHaul trailer at Mr. Johnson's business over two other places in town. I cannot recommend more strongly that other UHaul patrons NOT use this location for rental or dropoff.mathew M.

My problem is not with the location at all, I think it's unfair that I am forced to pick the location to review rather than the company. I was called a day before I picked up the truck and was told the right size wasn't available so I had to pick a new one down the street, no problem, a few minutes out of my way but it's fine as long as they have the right truck. They didn't have the right truck when I got to the new location, even though they called me the day before to confirm it and I had the reservation for two weeks. They said they â€œupgraded meâ€ from a 20ft truck to a 26ft - I did NOT want this upgrade and I told them that, but as a struggling medical student in the middle of a corona virus pandemic I was forced to accept it due to limited time and necessity to start school promptly. Then they told me the truck was filled to 3/4 when I picked it up and it was 100% not, so when I finally moved it 300 miles to the new location of my school and tried to return it with 3/8ths tank, which is was when I picked it up, it charged me $30. What a pain in the ass this company has been for me. I've used uhaul a few times in the past and that's why I used them this time but I will probably go to Budget Rentals in the future.Collin D.

The gentleman at this location was incredibly rude and unhelpful, he started off to me on multiple occasions, refused to help me in any way when locating my truck in the lot, I had to call a corporate number and speak to a woman named Stacy (800)628-1314 just to get this man to accept my deposit in cash, he then didn't even enter said deposit as cash making the return process very confusing and difficult. I have never dealt with such a rude, inconsiderate, unhelpful person in all my life and he should be ashamed. I'm not typically one of those people who expect the customer to always be right but I at the very least expect to be treated with some respect. I fully believe this man took advantage of the fact that the other u haul places in town we're closed and I had no other options. I will never rent another u haul again.Chantill N.

The owner of Johnsons Home & Garden was extremely rude to us. He not only had an attitude, but had a very rude personality and acted short towards customers. As far as the trailer, excellent shape. However, I would not recommend this U-Haul location to anyone. I only lived 20-25 minutes from this location. I'd drive 100 miles out of the way rather than to go to this location again.Isaiah B.
