The location was crawling with homeless and drug addicts. I could deal with it, I have been exposed to it, but it would be very unnerving for many people who have t been close to that environment. The owner or employee who looked after me was good. Also it’s not some where I would feel safe leaving my vehicle, I took mine several blocks away to park it.

Told on arrival that I was to take truck to another location, though I booked tge day previous, and no mention was made of this. Though eventually a credit was given for the extra trip, the calculation of charges would have me paying for what I did not use. Taking days to resolve. Took too long to get truck: over an hour. Pick up location operators were crazy, and for a time refused to give me the keys to the vehicle which head office had approved. There was shouting, telling me to just get out, calling of security, threats, then finally the throwing of the key....and more verbal abuse. Seems as though I got in the middle of and issue between the location owners and U-Haul, from what he angrily said. Even now, two days later, bill is not resolved.

Brian MI was charged $59.30 /day, but when I was under the impression that it was only $29.95 /day ( as advertised on the U-Haul website ) another false advertisement was the mileage. Online the mileage was supposed to be $1.09 for each kilometre but I paid 1.75 per kilometer. It was frustrating pain American prices when I was making an It was frustrating pain American prices when I was making a rental in British Columbia Canada because if I knew this, I would not got the local company. All together I was billed much more than I had anticipated. I had extended my rental online for 6:30pm the next day, but received a phone call from the U-Haul location that they are closed at 5:00pm. So I arranged to drop it off the following day. The U-Haul rental was difficult and my is reflective of the experience I’ve had with the company this time. On a happier note, the store owner was very friendly but they were located by an overdose prevention site which was uncomfortable for my children. Otherwise, I have been okay with the location and the owner was very understanding and helpful.

David LThey told me the day before my move that the 26’ was not available after having booked it 2 weeks ago. The location for pickup and drop off is worse than East Hastings. Witnessed an overdose next to the truck as I was parking it. The vagrants are using the trucks as the own bathrooms. I will never venture back there
