The only things that the truck needed was new windshield wipers. Otherwise everything else was in good condition.

The location was fine. The fact that I was charged for a dolly that I didn't receive makes me rate UHaul poorly. Again, the location wasn't at fault.

Michael RMake it clear that for mobile check in you need Safari on your phone. Our process took many tries and over 2 hours. At least 4 calls. Then once we finally realized I was using the incorrect server things progressed.

We ended up missing our ferry home because of all of the driving around, but even though this location was full they helped us out s we could eventually make it home. UHaul has been very stressful and disappointing to work with, but this establishment was the only good thing about our experience.

We were pretty upset when we went to another uhaul we had reserved with for 10am pick up and after 30 mins of waiting and several unanswered phone calls no one showed up. We called keen auto and they had a truck immediately and apologized profusely for what we went thru. Will also recommend keen auto now.

MARGARET KOne of the tie down straps had been broken and was to short to tie down one wheel , had to use one of my own tie down straps. It was pointed out by the U-haul representative before renting but it does need fixing, other renters may not be as well prepared.

I realize the truck wasn't dropped off by the previous customer. But the inconvenience was brutal. Bad planning on uhauls behalf and I have used you any times and will again. But this was terrible customer service. Thank you.

Natalie PWAZE maps had me driving around the block. It’s tucked back behind other businesses and no signage out front. I received 2 different text locations for drop off. First it asked I drop it off at 157 N Island Hwy then at the location on 29th st.
Stephen UI was charged twice. One when we picked up and one when we dropped off. Also we weren’t informed that the tank has to be filled up. Our booking said we are paying the amount for going 272kms in total for two days to be dropped off by 1st. But we dropped it off on 30th itself. Kindly review and fix. Call at 2502186558

JOSEPH URented a 15’ van, the transmission was slipping and my husband , who has driven several of these vans, found it the hardest one to drive. Might want to get it looked at.... I was grateful to have a real person check me I as the website did not fully work.I couldn’t log in properly and it said it would send me a new password,but did not. Tried several times. Couldn’t do drop off online paperwork either,so was charged extra 20$ .
James PBetter equipment, use Canadian/world units of measure instead of idiotic Imperial units. You need to include the human touch to make us feel like we matter and that we are not the enemy.

william cEverything was exactly as expected. Check-out and check-in was quick and efficient. Keen Auto is our first choice for U-Haul in the Comox Valley.
Keith Gbooked a time slot hours in advance and then waited 1/2 hour for the right person to turn up Peder - no explanatin no apologie. The lady who greeted me on arrival was very nice and said hed be back shortly 10 -15 mins fine but 1/2hr when i booked ahead is poor. This survey is also poor - focusing on location rather than service is a bogus way to get the appearance of better results.
david hHad the best experience at Kean Auto Services for a first time user of UHaul. Would recommend UHaul first hand out of Kean Auto. Service person Peder for UHaul at Kean Auto gave excellent customer service all around. Have read and heard many horror stories of UHaul services and was apprehensive at first to use their service, but at the end of the day it turned out well for me. I thank Kean Auto Services for that.

MARK PMy ordeal started when I showed up at 1550 - 10 minutes in advance of my pickup time. I was told to come back at 1630 as the "guy who deals with U-Hauls" was away. This amazing as this timeframe accounted for 1/8 of my 4 hour rental. "The guy" arrived at 1635 and told me to sign in on my phone. I had been trying to do so for the past 40 minutes and, after he got me to demonstrate that I'm not a moron and can read simple directions (didn't know I had to prove that), he reluctantly helped me open the U-Haul. For these 40 minutes I was on hold with your company to ask what to do given that there was no rep and your website couldn't recognize my location even though, yes, my location services were on for the browser and phone in general (again, not a moron). It was a stunning race to the bottom to see which customer service could let me down harder and irritate me more and in the future I will endeavour to go with any other company. Apparently is your website is known to suck and I plan to blast this fact on whatever public forum that I can.

Marits LThe young boy Peyton who seems to run the place was very good at the computer and serving us to do the things we needed. He had a great attitude and was very polite. The area where he could improve significantly is knowledge about picking up a truck when they are closed. I asked him several times if he could help us figure out how to get the truck earlier than 9:30 AM when he arrives at work for the day.,. He said there was no way I could pick it up before 9:30 AM. I had told him I couldn’t afford to pay for an extra two days so that I could pick it up the day before and drop it off a day later just to return it when they were open. I asked him a couple times if there wasn’t a way we could solve that problem. But he said no.! Finally my daughter phoned him and asked him several different ways how we could pick up the truck earlier. Finally he relented and said “well I suppose you could check in online and then pick it up early before I get here!!”That was very very frustrating and stressful!!! He is a lovely polite boy but he needs to learn the U-Haul system a lot better and be able to advise customer on how to solve their problems. He just couldn’t seem to figure things out for us. He told my daughter their 9:30 AM opening time was earlier than most U-Haul places! My daughter informed him that she has rented U-Haul trucks in other cities that were open much earlier than that. Also the inside of the truck was not swept out and had lots and lots of dust and dirt on the floor! So we had to do that before we could even start loading our belongings. Some of our couches are white and I was worried that seeing the truck floor hadn’t been cleaned adequately it would make our couches dirty!
Ruth BFirst issue - I get to my destination to discover the rear door was wide open. No indication from staff that I should check it prior to leaving the lot. Is it common practice to leave the door open while parked? Second issue - I was charged for gas even after putting more that enough into the tank, was not even asked if I had filled it up. How can I be charged $11.44 for gas to cover 12.5 miles? Staff not very communicative, to say the least.

Andrew WI have rented a truck of 29.95 for 2 hrs and they charge me 104.15 explanation was not clear. I have and extended insurance that cover all my rentals and that was not enough for them :(

Hugh MThe app doesn't work in Canada. I had to log in using the website, and it took much longer than necessary. Also, for full disclosure, please tell people to have their passport handy for secondary verification. Even better, do this verification the day before pickup so that the day of is much faster.

Carla PSame issue as pickup, app said I needed to turn on location services - it was. It was a few minutes after Kean Auto closed, but there was someone in there. While I parked the truck and locked it, he came out and got in his truck and left. I had to pay for an after hours drop off. Not sure why this was worth extra money.
