AMARJIT MWhen I picked up the truck it was very muddy on the interior and it was definitely recently smoked in. This was unfortunate since it was almost a brand new truck. After driving it to my home I cleaned the interior and washed all of the windows inside and out, it smelled a bit better. The truck itself was amazing and absolutely perfect for my 3 bedroom house. It was easy to drive and had reasonable fuel consumption of about 30 l/100km.

AMARJIT MReservations through u haul have no value. I made reservation over a month prior and no effort was made to have equipment I reserved available. The location I made the reservation for didn't have any information until 2 days prior. I was limited to what was available the day I needed it. I did not get an appliance dolly, I did not get blankets and I did not get the van I reserved. In future I will not use uhaul if I can find another option. If I do I will not make a reservation since there was no point in it.
BRYAN DTo make sure the reservation and final payment much or correct!! The location made mistake and charge me $300 extra and I find out after u left but I call customer care centre and the where amazing customer support team and the refund my money back to my credit card

Aman PBetter franchisee....phoned to see if trucks we're available said come at 12:30....drive 20 mins to there and no where to be found.....call franchisee....you need to call the 1-800 # reserve it and then call back with the reservation #....did that....then he tells me I gotta download the app put in a credit to pay for it...call him back then he'll give me the lock box info for the key....which was go on the app and pick up my truck.....both the first person that answered and the second guy that answered everything after 12:30 gave me nothing but attitude and was a total waste of my time....he should have just said the very first call at 11:30 or so to download the app and do it all on there.....very frustrating
JEREMY WThe person wasn't on site when I went to pick up the vehicle. The process was slow due to the sign in being online and there was slow internet connection. I received no paperwork or confirmation of mileage upon pick up. I was overcharged on mileage, I drove 4 miles and was charged for 14.

Peter KThis review is not directed to the representatives at Kermodei; my experience with them was great. As for Uhaul: I originally asked for my equipment to be picked up in Prince Rupert weeks in advance, TWO HOURS AWAY from Terrace. I was given less than days' notice for this change, and could not change my ferry sailings to wait for equipment. Uhaul HQ also insisted that there were no tow dollies available for my vehicle TWICE on two separate phone calls despite the representative at Kermodei telling me so earlier; I get there, and there were 2 DOLLIES AVAILABLE. I had to leave my car in a separate province because of the complete incompetence on Uhaul's part. If you can't actually reserve equipment, DO NOT CALL IT A RESERVATION. I would never recommend using Uhaul in the Skeena district- you cannot trust that they will actually provide the proper equipment and are perfectly content displacing your pickup location to another city entirely- they even said it could have ended up in Kitimat! I will either have to sell my vehicle or spend hundreds of dollars of money that I do not have getting it into Alberta. Use Penske or something else for truck rentals in the Skeena district.

DIRK SThe dealer was disorganized, didn’t seem to know what inventory he had. I was not given enough mileage for the trip I had to do and when I questioned that I was told I had more than enough. Well I didn’t actually and it wasn’t even close. I called him part way through my journey and asked him to add miles. He said he couldn’t and was quite rude. When I was given the keys to the truck I asked if we were going to do a walk around and he told me to go ahead. I’ve never experienced a rental company not go over the vehicle with you. The truck itself was a 2023 but it clearly has not been serviced. The transmission slipped in the lower gear and it sounded like the engine was going to fall out. Made for an incredibly stressful 1500km. All in all this was a terrible experience. I feel like U-Haul purposefully shorts you on the miles so you have to pay more. There was no way I could have made my trip in the miles they gave me. There was no consideration for getting to hotels or restaurants along the way. The odometer in the truck was suspicious. It was digital and only showed whole numbers, no fractions of miles. Some regulating authority needs to test the odometers for accuracy as I think this is where they are ripping people off. I should have gone 903 miles and the truck showed 943. Hmm

Leree HVery disappointed in today’s financial climate that I was charged a full extra day at drop off when I was just a little over an hour over the 4 day allotted trailer time. Needless to say that has left a sour taste in my mouth. Anything to nickel and dime the customer.

David FI simply dropped the truck off. No one was there. However, the instructions to drop off the truck were clear as I had phoned the person the day I was to drop off the truck. I had phoned to explain that the highway between Prince Rupert and Terrace has a freezing rain warning and people were advised not to travel unless it was essential. The response was that I would be charged an extra day. I responded by saying that I had paid for the U-Haul truck insurance and I didn't think it was in the company's best interest if I drove the truck, given the road conditions. If I went off the road due to the icy road conditions, it would mean that the company would lose the truck for at least a week or more depending on the extent of the damage. And I might be seriously hurt or killed. (BTW, the next day, I counted one car in the ditch on its roof, and RCMP accident tape on an another piece of road where someone had gone down 30 - 40 feet). There also seemed to be a disconnect about where I was going to travel. I had said when I rented the vehicle that I needed to go to Prince Rupert to unload it. I was then asked if I could return the truck to Terrace. I said I could as my car was parked at the Terrace/Kitimat Airport. After dropping off the truck in Terrace (the next day when the weather had warmed up) I received a invoice stating that I was being billed for $222 for excess mileage. The amount of the mileage was the distance from Terrace to Prince Rupert and then back to Terrace. I contacted U-Haul and chatted with "Michigan" Tammy who, after listening to my story, checked with her boss and then advised me that they would credit my account for the excess milage charge. So, all in all, I would have to say that this was not a great U-Haul experience. Certainly not what I had gotten used to expecting. I have rented trucks and trailers several times. The saving grace was "Michigan" Tammy who managed to sort it out.
Robert RI rented a enclosed small trailer. About halfway through my trip a tire on the trailer blew. It was 3 am on the side of the highway. After many confusing conversations with uhaul, the amazing guy from Kal tire got us back on the road at 830 am. Yup that's right, we sat on the side of the highway for 5 hrs!! Not at all impressed.
