The adapter was missing to hook up the lights/signals. I was told I would have to go buy one myself (cost $49) which added time and stress to my situation. Even after installing it, the lights and signals did not work properly so we had to keep checking them at every stop during our trip and we felt unsure of our safety since they kept going out. I wrote an email to Uhaul to complain and have only received an automated response promising that a manager would contact me, but I have heard nothing. I will never use them again. Poor customer service, wasted a lot of my time and added stress, and the trailer put my (and my family's) safety at risk.Diana F.

Rental agent was vulgar , rude, not accommodating and provided poor service over the phone and in person. Agent proved to be unaccomodating over the when attempting to schedule and proved to be even worse in person. He left garbage in the trailer (an old spare tire) and asked me to dispose of it at his convenience. When the trailer was hooked up he half assed the inspection and instructed me to leave.Josh Z.

The convenience of renting a U-Haul for moving was great! There was tons of storage in the U-Haul that we were able to move all our furniture in one load. The only issue we had, was that we had to pay for the milage to get it to and from Terrace. I think if our location was able to have more trucks, or at least a driver to move the trucks to and from other Northern communities upon availability would have been ideal. I still am unclear as to why we had to pay for the milage to get from Terrace to a community over an hour drive away because the U-Haul place in our town didn't have one available. This is the only issue we had, and feel it would be in the companies and customers' best interests to figure out a solution to this problem.Katie M.
We reserved a 26' truck well in advance of our move. We called two weeks prior to our move and at that time we're told to call three days prior to our departure date because there was no guarantee a truck would be available. This is terrible when a family is relying on this truck to move to a different city. The owner was friendly and helpful and did all he could to help us. However in the end we needed two trucks because the larger one was not reserved. This added cost to our move and we had to make alternate arrangements for our vehicle. Terrible arrangements and I would not use Uhaul again nor would I recommend.Richard S.

Trailer did the job. It seemed well-maintained. But when I first opened it up after picking up the boxes I would need (from Bandstra), there was loose dog food and lots of sand throughout the trailer. When I got to my destination, I had to sweep out the trailer before I could use it; and the 'sand', when wet, clumped and turned to a glue-like substance. So, maybe it was cement? I then had to clean the ground where the kibbles and cement fell from the trailer. The sand left a mark. Also, not the fault of the local U-Haul, when I booked on-line, I originally booked boxes, tape, blankets and a dolly. When I went to check out and pay, it said all other items would be shipped/delivered to me - rather than having the convenience of picking up the items at the same time and from the same place I picked up the trailer. I canceled all other items and just booked the trailer. Got boxes and tape from another local company. U-Haul needs to rethink their sales options. Booking a trailer on the 14th, for pick up on the 15th means not waiting for items like boxes to be delivered at a later date. Those boxes and moving items should be accessible and available at the point of pick up. That is just smart and good business. The U-Haul staff? He was great. Friendly and helpful.Teri M.
We were scheduled to pick up the trailer in Houston BC, three hours away from this location. The day before we had to pick up the trailer U-Haul called saying it was not available in Houston. So I had to drive an extra three hours to pick up the trailer. And when I arrived at the agreed upon time there was no trailer to be picked up for another three hours. The logistics of getting the trailer was very poor..I had a reservation over an month in advance, there should be no excuse for this service.Richard B.

My whole experience with uhaul was horrible. If given another opportunity, I would recommend going with another company. I booked a car dolly for my car, and when it came time to move, the closest one was 6 hours away. Uhaul then offered a car hauler which was more expensive than the dolly, however because â€œone was availableâ€ I had to pay more. My choices were drive 6 hours, or fork out even more money... that wasn't cool. Uhaul, you should have honoured your price instead of charging me more for something outside of my control!Tara D.

The attendant wasn't there when I first arrived, then the equipment wasn't ready, so I had to leave and come back half an hour later. Then I had to go to the bank for the deposit that I was not told I needed to provide. So after 45 minutes I finally I left with the equipment, only to realize there was less than a quarter of a tank of fuel and the back of the equipment was pretty dirty too. So I won't be returning to rent from uhaul again. I was over charged for Km's too. Overall I was not impressed at all.Katherine R.

The cost for a one day rental of a trailer was too high. When we found out the trailer was to short to tow the vehicle it was immediately returned. We only received an $80 refund for a rental which did not work.Roger W.

I had some issues with pick up location. I had put down Terrace BC for my pick up but the computer had me down for Burns Lake which is a 5 hour drive away. Thankfully Ian Nankervis from the Terrace office was able to locate a truck that would work for me and go pick it up so it was in Terrace for me to pick up. Ian went above and beyond to make sure my move went as smoothly as possible and I am so grateful for his amazing service! Thank you Ian!Nicole P.

The trailer smelled like fish, but I didn't open it until I was home. Yes I should have called and made a note but I was rush as they did not have the truck I had reserved a month ahead yet they had one sitting on the lot but not for me. Regardless I needed to move. So I didn't check it but it was a horrible smell and it sucked as I had no other options.Javier O.

When I dropped off the unit I forgot to put the key in the drop off box. I was late and had no issues with paying the fee for my being late. When I returned to drop the key off I put it in the drop box as per the prompt at the end of my online return. When I was getting back into my vehicle the agent yelled at me asking what I was putting onto the box; I said my key. I got into my truck he rushed over and made the hand motion to role my window down like he's some cop, i did and he started demanding with no introduction as to who he was, not asking questions, demanding I tell him why I put a key in the box; which unit I dropped off and had to point it out; then asked what my me was at this point I said good bye I don't need to give you that my contract is complete. Needs training; my experience from start to finish with the customer service was less than satisfactory. Coastal propane issue; Agents should not start dealing with another customer when they still have not completed checking me in.Laurie Tanya N.

My experience with uHaul was awful overall. The trailer I needed was over 2 hours away from the location I had reserved it at. I had two downgrade in the size since I couldn't travel that far to get it, which meant I had to get rid of a lot of my stuff in order to make the move. I would not recommend using uHaul to a friend or family member.Kyle D.

The representative seemed to be in a hurry. The trailer I rented was quite beat up on the interior and not very clean. I was also overcharged in that our no insurance option was reversed when I picked up the rental. I was able, through U-haul customer service, in another city, to have the matter of the overcharge resolved to my satisfaction. I frequently rent from U-haul and have not had these sort of problems with U-haul's service representatives.David W.
