At the first location where I rented the truck, no one knew where the key was—neither the staff inside the store nor the U-Haul representatives I called could help me locate it. The situation was similar at the second location; the person running the business there had to assist us because I was never provided with the code to retrieve the key—neither through the app nor during my phone calls. All told, I wasted about two hours going between the two locations; and to top it all off, the truck was out of gas and dirty. I had to stop—despite being pressed for time—and put $30 worth of gas in the tank just to make it to my destination. I don't think I'll be renting one of these trucks again.

You switched locations on me to a location that was 8 miles further away in downtown Tampa. We arrived at the location and realized it was convenience store and not a U-Haul dealer. The one gentleman behind the desk did not know how to do the transaction and had to get your customer service on the phone to talk him through it, all the while he was trying to service customers coming to buy beer and cigarettes. Needless to say this was extremely frustrating. Once we examined the U-Haul truck, we realize there was damage on the passenger side door, and somebody had been living in the rear part of the truck. The truck also only had less than a quarter of a tank of gas.There was empty beer, cans, clothes, a utility hat, and it reaked of urine. Unfortunately, this location only had one 20’ truck and we were under the gun to get going with our move so we had no choice but to accept this vehicle and wash it out. Extremely disappointing.
