First they charged for 3 gallons of gas even through it was only driven 8 miles (charged for 8 miles). They checked the vehicle in over 3 hours after it was dropped off. Employees were nice but the location was a market and the employees were busy checking out market customers.

VERONICA RThe pick up location was not the locations I requested. The location was disorganized and didn’t have my rental agreement. They did not have the box or furniture trolleys that I reserved.
KATELYN GThis truck had a serious gas leak from a faulty hose leading to the gas tank. When we tried to pump gas into the truck, it spurted out onto the asphalt and created a fire hazard. The gas station attendant came to assist us and put fire retardant on the asphalt under the truck. If anyone had thrown a lit cigarette or if any other kind of spark occurred, there could have been an explosion. We immediately called La Central Market U Haul to report the issue, but then we were stuck on an almost EMPTY tank that we couldn't refill, trying to make it the few miles to our intended destination to unload the furniture we were hauling. It was an extremely stressful journey! We managed to make it back unharmed and reported it a second time at La Central Market. I also requested the contact info for the UHaul manager Caesar Hinijoso so I could make sure the truck wasn't rented out again until it was repaired. I have since called him several times, left 2 voicemails and several texts, I've also called La Central again. NO RESPONSE!!! I am now trying to contact Repwest Insurance Co (they make you buy the insurance when you rent the truck) and again, no response yet. This was a dangerous situation and no one has responded!!! I'm now contacting UHaul headquarters to let them know. We would have appreciated just a phone call to check we were ok and to confirm the truck was being repaired, and maybe don't charge us the rental fee as a courtesy?! I CANNOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!
MILAN JIn-store agents/customer service reps were extremely helpful and polite at checkout and return. They ensured I had all the equipment and coverage I needed. The gas and mileage were accurate, the vehicle was clean and well kept, and the entire rental was very easy to do. I had a negative experience with a different Uhaul vendor in San Diego (years ago) so I didn't know what to expect, but everything ran smoothly and professionally. Would highly recommend! Thank you for your patience and help!
CASPER VI had reserved the truck a week in advance, but then found at pick-up time that the contract still had to be finalized. That should have already been completed online ahead of time. It wasted 30 minutes of my moving time.
JOSEPH MThe location is dirty and scratchy. It took 30 min to start the rental because of the slow computer and the vehicle was not checked in from previous rental. I ordered two dollies and blankets that weren’t in the vehicle which required pick up in another location. That means more wasted time that is paid for as rental. NEVER AGAIN.
Angela ADo not rent a U-Haul here! I booked a U-Haul truck, for same day pickup, when I arrived to pick it up I was told there were no more trucks. They had one van, and we were desperate so we rented that. The convenience store its run out of is gross and smells, and I saw multiple roaches while waiting. We were given the key on a U-Haul keychain that had been snapped in half. When we got in the van we noticed immediately it had not been cleaned after the last rental as there was food trash and clothing inside, as well as something melted to the dashboard that looked like chocolate or gravy. The passenger seat was covered in white dog hair. The next day, I went in to return the key. We dropped it off early with replenished gas. I handed the key to Peter, the employee behind the counter. He said "You broke this, we are going to charge you for it." And held up the snapped in half keychain. I explained it was given to us like that and he called me a liar and said he would call his coworker to confirm that I broke it.. I told him I thought it was rich that he cared so much about the keychain, but not the disgusting state of the vehicles they rent, or their roach infested convenience store. I have opened a complaint with U-Haul, but seriously, avoid this location! It is especially gross and it is in an unsafe area.

JOHN SThere was a nail in the drivers side rear tire, the oil change light is constantly on, there is zero windshield wiper fluid and the driver side mirror is slightly busted. I’m not a pre-Madonna but it was dirty I voiced concerns to the store and they said they only manage reservations (not maintain) and to take it up with U-Haul. Important to note that they weren’t rude about it… he was just straightforward that maintenance isn’t on them I’d like a partial refund
Sean CEngine check light was on, gas cap warning was on, ac diverted switch stuck in defrost mode unable to convert to front vent and most serious the low air light was on, luckily enough a tire shop was open down the street the shop check all tires (80lbs) both front tire was low, the right rear was at 33 and the left rear was at 103 that was an unsafe pressure and I could explode and a loaded condition the tech said he help correct the all the tire pressure to be close to 80lbs

Brock MI have used U-Haul for every move I have made. This location was a very inefficient pick up. I arrived and waited in line but was instructed to move to the side when I got to the front. She then helped all the cutomers for about 20 minutes. Finally, my son called (who was waiting outside) I told him that she wasn't helping me. Finally the person making pizzas came over and said he sent me a link to upload my drivers license. Then the woman finally started helping me. Her english was limited. I wish I knew how to speak spanish but I don't and when she was asking me about insurance I didn't understand her. She repeated herself in spanish but I am not bilingual. I did purchase the SafeMove so it should have been on there but I'm not sure because I didn't really understand her. Anyways, the pick up process was long and laborious. I will never go to this location again. In addition it was not my first pick. The place I choose, which was close to my location did not have the vehicle back and they moved me to this market. It was 17 miles away - each way!!!! That was ridiculous.

Jose GMy request was screwed up from the day of pick up. They had no trucks & told me there was no reservation for me. Had to locate a truck, causing a huge time delay. A truck was found in National City. It was filthy. Cab wasn’t clean, the box bed was worst, all kinds of debris. Wrong dolly was on order. Barely a 1/4 tank of gas. I spent $115 on gas. The only good thing was the price. The drop off location/people were what I expected all a long. Polite, friendly, helpful.

Tairre MIt would be much appreciate if you start by doing honest customer service. I asked you several times if the length of time mattered and you replied no; you said it was a flat rate and plus by mile charge. Based on that info I try to do you a favor by trying to bring the vehicle earlier which wasn’t possible. The booking initially was done online till eight for the same rate $20 so I didn’t have to really bring the vehicle back by six. Trying to rip people off by providing them false information is not cool. And I asked you the same question several time and you kept on insisting that it was the mileage that made the difference in price not the length of time . Not cool at all because you know that word of mouth is the best advertisement and I’ll share my experience on line. Btw I didn’t get an itemized receipt when I returned the vehicle. I’ll make sure that unrecognized charges will be disputed and if needed I’ll meet you in court.

ANGELIQUE GI wouldn't recommend UHAUL because they deceive you with a low rate and add hidden fees for mileage, when you return the vehicle.

Hailey MThe rental process was easy and the personnel helpful and efficient. Downside: the van only had 1/8th tank of gas, and had not been cleaned since the last rental. However, it was an excellent vehicle and my overall experience was very positive. I would use this site again.
John NThe guy working at the market was very nice and helpful. However, the trucks are kept in a filthy lot. My van was parked next to a trailer with a person living out of it and there was trash everywhere. The cabin was clean enough, but still had receipts and fast food waste. By far the most frustrating part of the rental was that the odometer was blocked by a message to change the engine oil “soon.” This made confirming mileage almost impossible. Also, the gas gauge was incorrectly labeled from a previous user. The check-in and check-out process was pretty seamless, but I do feel like a lot could be improved.
Jack HWorst U-Haul rental experience I’ve had. Truck was dirty inside with a bunch of trash, gas on empty with the light on. Was told by attendant to get gas, save the receipt and I would be reimbursed for it. Returned the truck with a quarter tank and provided the receipt as instructed, however, the next day I get a bill for $163 for gas and other charges. Do not rent from this place.

William IThe interior window seal was completely off, making the long drive from San Diego to Sacramento extremely loud due to no wind blocking on the window. The employees at the San Diego pick up location were some of the laziest people I’ve ever met in my life. My truck was blocked in by 3 other trucks, I had to ask them twice to please move them. They didn’t inspect the vehicle nor check the gas gauge.
Mitchell PWe returned the truck one day early and U-Haul contacted us two weeks later asking when are we returning the truck. They lost track of the truck and tried to charge us for the time it took them to locate it. this was resolved then six months later they sent an invoice for an additional $2,000.00. Obviously we'll never use U-Haul again.
Chris KWhen I picked the truck up, the back door was open. Turns out I should have looked harder because there was dried piss all over the place. Unlucky for me, got all over my tempur-pedic bed frame which is lined with fabric. Absolutely disgusting.
MATTHEW MOur uhaul rental truck came with a pad lock on it and no key. We were forced to rent another truck from a different location, as this one was closed, in order to stay on schedule. Upon returning the truck the guy was extremely rude and did nothing to rectify the situation. It was obvious when looking at our mileage used, and simply just the fact that we were never given the key to the pad lock, that we hadn’t used the truck. He charged us full price. Will never go to one of these locations that just has a few uhaul trucks they rent out ever again. It’s obvious you have to go to an actually uhaul facility.

Evan PI have an issue, the gas when we picked up the truck had close to 1/4 of a tank. we filled it and went to Arizona. we returned te truck with more gas than when we got it. You are now charging me $95 for gas, service fee and tax. I have called Alena, your reservation manager at traffic control. She was argumentative and rude and could not look up any of my records. She told me a supervisor would be calling. This is very frustrating that this cannot be resolved.

The cab was pretty grimy and the cup holders were coated in sticky mystery goo, like the icing on this urinal cake of an experience. Customer service let me know that it was up to the manager at the drop off location whether to grant any discount, but that’d it’d also be necessary to call customer service again to receive any such discount. Or that they may not grant any relief at all. So fun surprise! Unfortunately no one was at the drop off location when we arrived since the manager at the pick up spot gave an incorrect closing time. Not the end of the world, just more phone calls to my new friends at customer service.
Sydney SThere was homeless living in the lot. Trash everywhere. The lot is in the alley under a bridge super sketch. I'm lucky I didn't get stabbed The van I rented was extremely dirty and smell like piss. Very unprofessional. Will never take my business to them again. Don't rent from this location
Felipe AThe Uhaul truck I rented was pretty great over all, just had some minor issues. The gas cap looks defective, like its missing a piece to help keep it in place. It took several tries to keep it in place and would eventually become loose. The dash board would have a message saying I would need to put it back in place. The drivers door doesn't close unless I slam it. Other than that, it was pretty great.

LEOPOLDO CNone of the items I had ordered were available, I had to go to a different location. Someone in their organization is a bold face liar. They are reporting that the fuel level was close to half full, I took a picture with the fuel gauge being close to dead empty. When I opened the back of the truck to look inside, I found marijuana, and a pipe and a partially smoked joint. I should bill them for a cleaning charge. What would have happened if I was pulled over in Utah, where marijuana is a serious crime. The attendants could care less, and thought it was funny

Raymond SThis vehicle was a POS gas guzzler and the right side rear view mirror would not stay in place. I had three near misses in the span of one hour of driving. Please don’t give this vehicle to another customer until the problems are fixed.
Jason DFirst Niobe was there at 8 When arrived 8:15, blamed me saying they only opened at 9. Luckily other people were also waiting for trucks so had to open. They were out of flat dollys and out of blankets! TOO BOTH were needed for my move!) got the regular dolly but never even used it .. my choice would have been to only get the flat dolly that I booked and was not going to get the regular one, but was given no choice. -Spent 30 minutes getting truck because luckily I saw back was locked… with a lock belonging to someone else!! ( or the location) and had to go back to get the key to unlock it. ( had to go unlock it myself and bring back the key! As too busy. Left the yard at 8:45 and the woman said she would assure I got that time extended on my contract but she did not ! Had booked truck for 8 hours to what I thought was now 4:35,,. when I got back there at 4:35 the guy accused me of being late… but said .., I got you!!! My contract shows I went 11 miles! And I had been watching the miles as information states 12 miles per gallon. Worried I would be later than 4:45! I did not get gas thinking one gallon and the guy charged me for FOUR gallons which is a ripoff !!! Although it is the very closest to where I live I will NOT use that location again, Please U-Haul rep only … not anyone from this location and must keep confidential!!! Paulette FThe female who gave me the truck when I picked it up didn’t even inspect the truck. She had no clue what she was doing. I was told that I had to bring the truck back with the amount of gas already in it. I had 1/4 of a tank and they tried to say I had 3/4 of a tank when I picked it up. I calculated my miles and I did not go pass 100 miles and I was charged for 183 miles. I do not recommend this location very bad experience. I don’t know if that is how U-Haul does business but I’ll try Penske next time.
Alex NOrderd for one address and they sent me to another because they no longer had uhaul. Picked up at different address and when I got backrealized there was a lock on it. Called and was advised had to go back to get lock off. When I asked if he was fucking serious (realize bad choice of words bot very upset) he advised very fucking serious, as customer service paerson myself have never talked that way to a customer When I called to complain about the whole situation, first agent was so rude, asked to talk to someone else and he was even worse because he advised he didn't take complaints. Will never use your company again!!!!

Carola ENo gas cap on the fuel tank. It was dirty and dash message of low tire pressure and check engine light service needed. It drove okay though. But they dont maintain them at that location. After I stopped to put in gas I called to tell them the cap was missing and I was told to bring it back with empty fuel tank since it was empty when I took it and there was no gas cap.
Carolyn TThe cargo van interior was filthy and very dirty. you can very much notice that they do not clean and take care of the vehicles. Also the vehicle kept informing us that it needs an oil change and someone had set the tire pressure psi to 75!!!!! the tires only needs 45 psi this is very dangerous and deadly!!!! We were very luck to of checked and we released some of the air out.
