When I went to this location as explicitly indicated on your website, both your website and operators told me I was in the wrong place - even when I was sitting inside the vehicle I was supposed to pickup. Apparently, there are two UHaul locations but both use the “other” GPS location. Actually, the “other” UHaul location is so poorly marked, it's impossible to find. Please straighten this out or get a better setup. When I was dropped-off to pickup the vehicle, I had to wait outside in windy, 5-degree weather for more than an hour arguing with a series of your operators while standing next to the rental vehicle before someone finally was willing to check me in and allow me to leave. I lost my helper because of the delay. Please straighten out your Lake Placid location.

After reserving a trailer 2 weeks prior to the day i was to pick it up, i was informed the day before that i would have to drive an extra 40 miles roundtrip, because it wasn't available at that particular site. In all my times dealing with customer service, I personally feel, they should have made arrangements to make sure the trailer was at the original site.They had plenty of time to accomodate me, as the reservation was sent in a timely manner.

Vehicle clearly hasn't been cleaned and likely not sanitized. And it was a challenge to do the mobile pick up with the trucks and the office in different locations on opposite sides of town. But the man I spoke with was very helpful.

There was nobody at the location and even though the truck that I was rented was there, I had to wait over an hour after my original rental time to pick up the truck. Even with the delay in picking up the truck, I still had to drop it off at the same time, which turned my eight hour rental into a six hour rental, which I only learned about the night before the rental. This experience has only deepened my hatred for moving, and if I ever have to move again, I will not be using U-Haul. I had to call the central office to pick up the truck because the app didn't register my location, and I had to call again to drop the truck off because the app never registered that I picked up the truck in the first place. U-Haul is a terrible service, and I will always regret giving this company my hard earned money. I will recommend this service to nobody.

The app was a very frustrating experience. All the verifications were extremely difficult and would not load or allow me to advance to the next page. I had to wait until the next for a human to process the rental. I wasted three hours of my time driving back and forth to the location. I will NEVER attempt to use the app again which will cause me to have to rent extra days due to the only option in this area and can not pick up on a Sunday.

Make sure the equipment is in proper working condition, rented a tow dolly, fender was broke, lights on one side did not work. Made it to my destination ok but had to be extra causes in heave traffic.

He tried to use the uhaul online presence for both reserving and pickup of a truck the day before, this was a utter waste of time. We tried again the day we picked up the uhaul again that was much less than efficient. We came to learn that best way to book a uhaul in lake placid ny is to call the location and make arrangements yourself.

Pick up location is separate from where Equipment is stored. Upon pick up of equipment it was noted that the fuel was only a 1/4 tank, the Box was not swept or cleaned and, the cab had not been wiped down or cleaned prior to rental. There was standing water in the passenger door handle and on the passenger seat. There were globs of hardened caramel and other food items on the floor between the passenger and middle seats. WE ended up wiping them up and cleaned the cab ourselves and swept the box rather than take the time from our agenda to go back to the Office across town to complain or see about another rental. What can you do to improve the next Customer's experience? Inspect and service your equipment BEFORE it goes back out.

There was a tire service light on. We called immediately and reported it and someone "a supervisor " was to call us back. never got a call. Website gave no option for renting for more than 24 hours which forced us to renew 3 times. Not impressive

This 15' truck was very loud. It made the trip difficult, we were unable to talk and the radio played loud to cover engine or muffler noise. Otherwise the experience was seamless and fit our needs. The staff were efficient and accurate. Thank you.

This was a unique situation, as we had to urgently rent a moving truck during the coronavirus pandemic. There was no one at the location when we picked up the truck, so we had to deal with it all over the phone, which turned out to be OK. The owner did reach out to me beforehand, so that was greatly appreciated. Overall a good experience.

I have never been able to get a person on the phone, or see someone in the office at this location, despite calling and visiting during advertised working hours. It is confusing that there is another location miles away in town.

My van was not swept out very well, and the interior wasn't totally clean. Also, the signal strength for my phone was not good there, so I had to move and drive elsewhere to have a signal to check-in to pick-up van and drop-off so I incurred additional miles. I would like some credit back due to this please.

The truck had a hole in the fuel tank filler neck, every time gas was added it leaked a gallon onto the ground. Had to wait about a half hour to get the truck as the only guy at the location didn't know how to do it and had to call somebody else. I asked the man behind the counter how tolls were dealt with in states like MA where there is no cash option, and he had no idea, told me to just drive through and the added tolls would be charged to my credit card after, but this sounds incorrect?

Owner was accommodating and friendly. However he never inspected the vehicle he rented us. While driving the vehicle the check engine light, check oil light and service lights all came on, and engine struggled to idle properly; the engine stalled 4 times while driving on the local mountain highways creating dangerous situations. Tires were terrible and spun out terribly with a slightly dusting of snow on the road. My wife felt our lives were in jeopardy. I contacted the local office on Monday morning and explained our experience was still charged for the rental.

The rental vehicle was as expected, however it could have used snow/winter tires on the van. The van was stuck on a less than 5% grade multiple times. Twice at pick-up and twice more during rental.

walk around the equipment as truck drivers do and observe. Grease all moving parts, remove hazards that hang off, replace ratchet devises as they mature, replace belts as needed.

Inconvenient to execute agreement at one location and picking up the vehicle across town. Tried calling the phone number soon after getting the reservation to confirm and voicemail was full. Alternate method of replying to email address did not work either, got an error code 404.

The main office in Albany are nothing but assholes. Clueless dip fucks who cannot read a GPS. Stop changing my reservations, stop the harassing phone calls. The guys in Lake Placid are amazing!!!!! The main office is a waste of flesh. I even saved the voicemail from Jesse (female). If I have to work with her again, I will take our account somewhere else. She could learn a ton by working with Lake Placid and seeing how customer service should be done. Please get rid of that idiot.

Because the U-Haul website was having difficulties, I had to wait for quite a long time to sign the contract and pick up the trailor. I was surprised that the main U-Haul office had not let its dealers know about the website problems.

The U-Haul website should let renters know in advance that the location to pick up the key is several miles from where the vehicles are located so that renters can allot enough time to complete the transaction. This is not the fault of the location.
