My recent rental experience was extremely disappointing and frankly unacceptable. When I picked up the truck, the cab had a very strong odor of marijuana. The smell was obvious the moment I opened the door and was strong enough that it remained overwhelming while driving the vehicle. I immediately brought this to the attention of the employees at the rental location before leaving with the truck. I was told they were already aware of the odor and was simply offered an air freshener. That response was frustrating and unprofessional. An air freshener does not remove the odor of marijuana from a vehicle, and knowingly renting a truck in that condition shows a lack of concern for customers and basic vehicle standards. Beyond the unpleasant smell itself, there are serious issues this situation creates for a customer. Driving a vehicle that smells strongly of marijuana could easily lead to misunderstandings if stopped by law enforcement or if an accident occurred. The odor alone could create suspicion that the driver had been using marijuana in the vehicle, which puts the renter in an unfair and uncomfortable position through no fault of their own. Customers should never be placed in a situation where they have to worry about legal or reputational issues simply because the rental vehicle was not properly inspected and cleaned. The odor was so overwhelming that I chose to complete my moving tasks in one trip and return the truck early just so I could stop driving in those conditions. That should never be necessary when renting from a national company like U-Haul. I expected a clean, neutral, and professionally maintained vehicle, and what I received fell far short of that expectation. If U-Haul truly wants to improve the experience for future customers, there needs to be a strict inspection and sanitation process before any truck is rented out again. If a vehicle smells like marijuana, smoke, or any other strong odor, it should be taken out of service and thoroughly cleaned or deodorized before the next customer receives it. Additionally, employees should be empowered to swap vehicles immediately when a customer raises a concern like this instead of offering temporary fixes like air fresheners. This experience left me very dissatisfied with this rental, and it has made me question whether I will continue using U-Haul for my future moving or rental needs. I hope the company takes situations like this seriously and implements better quality control standards so that other customers do not have to deal with the same issue.
LEONARD QThe location and service is ok, however the condition of the truck was not, the one I got has roof leaks. It was raining and it had leaks inside, I made sure no water came trough the roll up door, and even with that my stuff ended up wet, even on the very top of the truck (the extension of the truck that is above the driver).
ERICK GThe renting truck had a lot of noise, something wasn’t working properly. Tge worst truck I ever had. I do not recommend anyone driving this truck. I will leave a bad review in google just in case are you guys delete th Ed bad reviews at your website. Not happy at all this time.
ALBINA ADIRTY TRUCK ON OUTSIDE. COULD BARELY SEE OUT. OLD, OLD TRUCKS, WORKERS BELOW AVERAGE . ONE TRUCK I HAD A HARD TIME SHIFTING OUT OF FIRST GEAR, CARS UP MY BUTT.

BARRY CTruck we were given did not start at the location. Counter person had to give us a jump using jumper cables. Truck would not start multiple times during use prompting my husband to buy a jump box to keep in the truck in case it died again. I am very disappointed with the truck, roadside service who was contacted but never came due to how long it was going to take to get to our location. We were not even offered a different truck, as there were no other ones there in the size we needed.

AMIR JSystem was down, so it took awhile to rent the truck, but otherwise everything was good.
Tyler BI initially scheduled a reservation with U-Haul for a 15’ truck, pick up 1/1626 @ 11:00 am. I received a call from U-Haul customer service, 10 min or so before my initial scheduled pickup at the lakeside U-Haul location for 11 am advising me that the lakeside location suddenly didn’t have 15’ trucks available and that I was being rescheduled to pickup a 15’ trucks available from the Shelby Township MI location 21 and Van Dyke . Only to receive this info at last minute in good faith, only to arrive at a closed location. After standing outside of this desolate location for minutes, pulling of in discouragement in the difficult weather and conditions. I called the initial location, spoke with angel only to find the lakeside location had plenty of 15’ trucks. I was giving the run around from U-Haul professionals and for what? Again wasted my time and gas that I will never get back. Thanks Cicilia area manager for my terrible experience. Regards Carl Keys
Carl KSomeone rented under my personal address, email, and phone number. I called in and talked to three different departments about your company giving my personal information to someone else and that I did not rent it. They said they couldn’t change the fraudulent contract because the trailer someone else rented was out and they were a good customer. So someone else got my personal information on their contract. Absolutely horrible company service

FRANCIS WThe 20' truck worked well and we were able to get the first phase of the move job done. We will rent another one soon. I do wish the sideview mirrors were adjustable. I also wish the driver's seat was vertically adjustable and the truck had cruise control. That would have made the 800 mile trip less fatiguing.

I got a cheaper deal same storage inside facility for cheaper. I think that you should have competitive prices and not keep raising your prices. That’s the only reason why I moved out because you kept raising the rent.
