I rented the van on Monday and returned it on Monday. I thought everything was fine until I got a call stating that I didn't return the van. This made me nervous. It was a fiasco with the keys. We put the keys in the slot in which they told us. I guess miss miscommunication within the office. I was embarrassed that I had to be called because they said I didn't return the truck which I did. It's more than likely I would not come back to this particular establishment for our rental in the future.Nicole G.

I requested the van for 4 hours from 2-6pm. I returned it on time but have been charged a $20 after hours return fee that I was unaware of. The van had the tire light on indicating low air pressure. I called to report it and was told the tire was not low, the light was regarding an oil change. $50 rental doubled due to hidden fees.LaTonya A.

*** WORST EXPERIENCE EVER *** (Rented a van on 05/04/21) To begin with, the manager, Heather, did not make any effort to do her job. She sent me out all on my own to get my rental van, along with the dolly that I rented, after I paid her without doing a walk thru with me like EVERY other uhaul rental locations I have used in the past 20 years. She told me that she was giving me a brand new van. When I got there, the van she gave me smelled like urine and the right side mirror was cracked. I went back inside to tell her that I didn't feel comfortable driving the that van. Without changing/updating my paperwork (receipt: I was charged $66.57 immediately) she said to grab the van behind it and again, without a walk thru and I had to load up the dolly from the damaged van to the replacement. I returned less than the hours I rented it for. I didn't go far (26 miles) and I put $5 in gas thinking it would be enough. I was charged $13.50 for the gas she claims I used. Then on the updated statement she emailed me, it stated that I went 26 miles plus an additional â€œpreviousâ€ 20 miles. My starting mileage was at 10,592 and ending mileage was 10,618 which is a total of 26 miles at $.99/mile. I was charged for $46 miles. On 05/05/21, I spoke with Heather and explained to her that the difference in mileage and what was used was only $26 miles. She kept going on the calculator and I was told she would need to have her manager look at the total and give me a call back. It is now 05/11/21 and I received 2 emails with my uhaul receipt which is charging me an additional charges of $20.77 and $41.88. I also received a text that I now have a collections balance of $71.88 and on this record I was charged â€œ1 mile at $45.54â€. I have been on hold with the corporate office from Uhaul. I have never had this problem in the 20 years I have used Uhaul. If you are a manager, you should be able to address a small problem immediately when clearly the Math shows that I was overcharged 20 miles. Instead of being at my doctor's appointment, I am waiting for upper management to address this matter. The manager at Mott Place (Trenton, NJ) is unprofessional, lazy, incompetent and has no knowledge of running a facility nor being a manager, regardless of the 16 or 18 years she has been with Uhaul. Her work ethic and her wisdom shows no reflection of the many years she has been with your company. That will be the first and last time I deal with that location. *** I still have not received a call from the manager and her supervisor.KATRINA F D.

My first time and perhaps the last. Staff was not available to rent at the time requested. I was there on time and told to come back in an hour. Truck had plumbing parts and other miscellaneous itmes in bed. Was told truck was half empty when I picked it up. It was not. I returned it exactly how I found it and was charged a refuleong fee. Please tell me this isn't normal for Uhaul rentals, it falls well short of basic customer service levels in virtually every categoryJoe H.

The vehicle had strong smell of urine when it was picked up. After leaving our equipment in the vehicle overnight, we unpacked it the following morning. My husband spotted a cockroach in our kitchen. We have resided here for 24+yrs without any pests, so it must've been in the rental truck. We rented the truck to transport our catering equipment and supplies. It was fortunate that all our perishables were sealed in our cooler or in airtight plastic and cooked onsite. But in light of this situation, I will not rent any other vehicle in the future. I'll make multiple trips with our smaller truck instead of risking the good sanitation of our location.Kimberly C.

I had confirmed reservation for 8/14 at nearby location in Bridgewater. Luckily I called the location prior to arrival and was told there are no trucks available. I just had 1 hour to rush to the Trenton location where only a 20ft truck was available. I called uhaul 800 number on 8/17 to report the inconvenience and aggravation caused. I was told my complaint was registered and a customer service representative will call in 3 to 4 days. No call yet which exhibits total lack of customer service and care.ARCHANA H.
