I was not informed that I could return the rental at this location after hours by opening the closed gate. Being a law abiding citizen I was uncomfortable going into a private business after hours that has an obviously closed gate at the front. I did not want to leave the rental outside of the gate by the road where it could easily be stolen. The website runs redicously slow from my Android phone. I called the Uhaul number and the wait time for a response was so long that I hung up. There was no option to speak with a general customer service representative.that I had to speak with someone from another department to help resolve my issue. She was tried and was very nice and professional but didn't have the answers I was looking for.Joel C.

Do not understand why rental facility can place rental trailer on receiver of tow vehicle and latch down to secure trailer to tow vehicle but can not connect light wiring harness to tow vehicle light connection or connect safety chains on trailer to tow vehicle.William G.

I had nothing but problems from the beginning. The Uvalde location on main st . Uvalde over charged me . When your web site said it was $119.00 they wanted to charge me $550.00 .but gave me a discount and charged me $ 225.00 Then after dropping off the trailer in El Paso l reserved it for my return trip 3 days later. The next day I got a call from Uhaul saying that trailer had been rented out. What was the purpose of a reservation? Then they wanted me to go to Truth or Consiquenese New Mexico to pick up a trailer for return trip. Then that changed to Las Cruse N.M. What a pain in the ass to do business with UhaulTHOMAS T.

The front staff was very rude. After hours pick up was not working so I was not able to get the trailer till the next day. The front staff were not going to let me pick up due to staff error in system. Called U-Haul and was place on a 90 min hold which after the U-Haul reception hung up on me after picking up call. Not much went right with this experience! Originally we were supposed to pick the trailer up in San Antonio from a dealer on 281. The plan was to proceed straight from there to my daughter's house in San Antonio for loading. The day before the planned pick up I was called and redirected to Hondo. When I got to Hondo the trailer had not been returned yet. The man at Hondo suggested I try LaCoste, Lytle, or Natalia. I stopped to eat in Hondo. Before I could go to LaCoste I received a phone call from U-haul that redirected me to Uvalde. The people in Uvalde were polite and helpful, but the end result was 4 or 5 hours added to my day and over two hundred miles added to my truck. Honestly, I don't think the $50 refund you offered that I have yet to receive is adequate compensation. It's not worth fighting you over it, but next time I am highly likely to try using some of your competition!STEVEN F.

It was an after hours drop off and it was confusing that they had a barrier us in front of their driveway. After some searching it became obvious that they barrier was not locked and we could open it to return the trailer, but it was confusing at first.Kelli M.
The Location was fine and prompt in obtaining the equipment rental, HOWEVER THE ONLINE U-HAUL APPLICATION SERVICE WAS TERRIBLE AND AT THIS POINT I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND U-HAUL TO ANYONE. It began with with me online reservation requesting a car tow dolly (confirmation 29359831) from the 441 S Getty St. Uvalde, Tx. 78801 ONE WEEK PRIOR TO picking up the equipment. One Saturday October 17, 2020 I received a phone call from U-Haul informing me that the equipment I requested was NOT available however, a car transport was available at the Uvalde Towing 454 E Front St, Uvalde, TX 78801 location (confirmation/U-Haul Contract 29359831) for the date i needed the equipment. I went to this location to pick up the equipment I was confirmed that would be available on the required date. Upon arrival I was informed that the equipment that I was confirmed to pick up WAS BROKEN AND NOT AVAILABLE. I was informed that U-Haul had been informed for over 3 weeks that this equipment was NOT RENT-ABLE due to it being broken!. I was given the 1-800-GO-U-HAUL phone number to call. After waiting for 35 minutes to talk to a U-Haul representative I was informed to go to the THIRD LOCATION L&R 974 E Main Uvalde, TX 78801 where I was FINALLY able to pick up NOT THE EQUIPMENT I HAD ORIGINALLY RESERVED BUT RATHER THE EQUIPMENT U-HAUL DECIDED TO PROVIDED ME WHICH WAS $230 PLUS DOLLARS MORE THAT THE EQUIPMENT I REQUESTED ONLINE ARE RECOMMENDED MY U-HAUL. I TOOK MY TIME TO GO ONLINE PROVIDE MY INFORMATION, SUBMIT COPIES OF MY DRIVERS LICENSE(FRONT AND BACK), AND ENDED UP HAVING TO RENT EQUIPMENT OF U-HAUL'S CHOICE NOT MINE. FURTHERMORE, THE PERSON I CONTACTED AT THE 1-800-GO-U-HAUL NUMBER INFORMED ME THAT DUE TO THE AWFUL EXPERIENCE I HAD THAT I WOULD BE GIVEN AT LEAST A MINIMUM $40 DISCOUNT ON THE EQUIPMENT. DID THIS HAPPEN NO, NO, NO. DUE TO THIS CHANGE ON EQUIPMENT RENTAL NOT BY ME BUT MY U-HAUL I WENT OVER $300 ON MY BUDGETED EXPENSE. TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE AND I WILL NEVER RENT FROM U-HAUL AGAIN. The on line was hard. I put in everything it ask for . Gave me a reservation #. Had a 8 am pickup. I get there & it tell me to wait the business opens at 8:30 am. So I was waiting. Not very happy. The lady came out of the business. Told me she kept getting kicked out of the system. She thought she had it fixed to finish with my phone. That was a joke. So I had to go in to get her to work on it. By 9am I finally got the truck.Katie H.
