It’s 40 minutes out of the city in the middle of nowhere. We weren’t even supposed to be there at all. We were supposed to have a trailer for 8am in the city. Uhaul called us a few times and kept changing pickup location and time to the afternoon instead of first thing in the morning. We were moving a province away so changing pick up from 8am to after 3pm is ridiculous. Why was there no trailer available when I had one booked. Incredibly unprofessional and frankly ruined all of our plans because of your guys poor planning and over booking when there was no trailers. Won’t be recommending uhaul to anyone ever based on this pickup/ moving experience. So disorganized and gave us the run around the entire time. The lady from customer service was prompt and found us the trailer in Legal swiftly but she never should have had to do that in the first place.

Despite me saying I was moving a piano, and renting dollies to do so, I was given a truck without a damn ramp. Unfortunately I didn't notice until I got to the pickup location. So I paid almost $400 to not be able to move anything. Waste of time and money. Never using uhaul again. Also, did not have the furniture pads I reserved, not that it mattered since I couldn't load anything.

I checked in online to speed up the picker up process, the lady behind the counter barely spoke English and couldn't communicate. She kept trying to give me a truck when I had a trailer booked. It took over an hour to finally get the trailer. Then when we got it, it was full of junk. Fence panels, tires, running boards and all sorts of other stuff.

Customer service was awful. Service provider have zero help. Trailer tongue was in gravel and I had to lift and connect it myself. There was not trailer jack. I pinch my finger while trying to lift and connect the trailer myself. The service provider had poor communication skills. The trailer was both dirty on the outside and inside as well. I will never use U-Haul again.

Trailer was still hooked to a truck and in the snow. Me and my fiancé had to unhook the trailer and push it by hand out into the open so we could hook onto it. The number for this location does not work as well and customer help could not be reached. The worst experience I’ve ever had renting from u haul by far

The truck was dirty, and had low air pressure so I had to stop and fill tires with air. It was substantially low. The truck also violently shakes at the steering wheel when you brake. I mentioned this to the store and U-Haul customer service but there wasn’t really anything said in return.

They trailer had no pin to lock the trailer to my hitch. I had to drive back home to get the pin. 30 mins back and 30 mins to get back where I started. 1 hour of waisted time. Then I get the trailer back to.the store and the gentleman on nights told me they are right here. So they had it inside but morning worker had no idea. Very disappointed

It is very frustrating that the people are not working for U-Haul. They don’t care. If there is a problem it’s your responsibility to call U-Haul, not theirs to fix. They are running a gas station while trying to check you in so it’s a very long process. No one called after booking to confirm until the night before needed. This did not leave assurance that we had the U-Haul secured during a stressful moving time

The unit was full of mud, and smelled of urine. The blankets were cut up pieces of tyvek, and extremely dirty. Then I got screwed out of $18 for fuel, cause the paperwork said it had more in it than it actually had. This was supposed to be addressed, but wasn't. Assure the fuel reading is correct before hand.

I traveled from Fort McMurray to Legal to find a trailer and left with a terrible stinky dirty trailer and no other option. The trailer was covered on the interior with dead stinky ants or carpenters…

You should have an EMPLOYEE perform the pre-trip inspection and the return inspection NOT ask the renter to take a picture of the before and after mileage. The uhaul employee needs to go out with the renter and actually inspect the vehicle with the renter ,not just say here's he keys ty.

The parking lot of excellent for loading the unit and having space to manoeuvre. It’s also a gas station which is wonderful.

He never told me he was charging me another day when I handed the keys and took a picture of dash for him....he never even checked witg his own eyes Them I get a charge later that day....I would like my money back or there will never be any recommendations and the story will be told to anyone thinking about uhaul

He was as helpful as he could be considering I was upset that after talking to the number provided on my receipt earlier in the day and them saying they would fix the mileage on my contract by the time I dropped off the Uhaul and the fact that they did not and I had to pay the extra was really upsetting. The personnel was friendly and did his job.

Let’s start with the can of the truck. Wasn’t wiped down after previous user. Crumbs and steering wheel was sticky and disgusting. The attendant who was to help me wasn’t too interested in doing so. Didn’t do any walk around of the vehicle with me. And lastly, I requested while I was in transport using the U-Haul truck to drop it off at a different location. I was refused that request and it ended up costing me overtime at my work . I won’t be using u-haul again. Not a good experience at all

Trailer was in a snow bank and was not offered any assistance to help lift the trailer onto the hitch. A 6’x12’ trailer is quite heavy to pick up and maneuver onto the trailer ball. They also did not have the furniture blankets that I ordered with the trailer.

Trailer was very dirty and had a terrible aroma inside. Needed to take it to car wash and scrub inside with brush and foam cleaner, as well as spray odor eliminator inside. Overall, it took 5 hours to go pick up the trailer, transport back to Edmonton. Then clean and make suitable for us to move our personal belongings in. This experience delayed our move significantly. We called the local management of U haul to discuss the issues and never recieved a call back from manager. Not a good experience.

Received a trailer that had no light hook ups. Was told if I find the attachments needed, to bring the receipt in, to be discounted from the overall bill. I spent an hour of my time driving between 3 stores to finally find a long enough connector to reach my plug in. When I returned the trailer and gave them my receipts, they showed me the discounted rate of 48.09 to be charged. However the charged me the full amount anyways on my card. I lost time moving and money, while not alot, the experience was not great.

Again wasn’t happy that drop off was changed. My son was going to drop off on his way to work at Edmonton location on Winterburn road. Changing it to Legal meant it was the opposite direction for him. Would have liked explanation on why this change was made!!

I would have appreciated some help to hook up trailer. I am a 71 year woman and he just said it is over there and I had to hook it up myself. a\And lifting that hitch from the ground to my truck was hard. I did it but it would have been nice to have some help.

The staff had no clue what he was doing , he was the only staff and that is a very busy location. When we went to return the trailer the location was closed due to a computer update I tried to call the number that is with the uhaul rental and it was out of order. I had a dolly to return so I left it in the trailer . Also there was a bunch of moving blankets left in the trailer from a previous rental so I left them in the trailer too . I couldn’t tell anyone because the location was closed . We dropped the trailer off at 9;30 am . Pluse when I was quoted for rental it was just under $100 then when I rented it the price jumped $50 more . I had no choice but to rent from this location because all trailers were rented out around Edmonton which I find strange. So it was a 45 min each way drive to pick up and drop off the trailer. I have never had such a horrible experience renting from uhaul and I have rented a lot from you in the last 3 years.I have moved every year. I was very disappointed in this location.

The truck was not cleaned in box. Had broken glass in it. Cab part was ok. The Gas in tank was only 1/4 full. Fellow said it has been this way in past. Others places had tank full or almost full. So not sure about policy. And a suggestion when booking a vehicle person needs to know what time frame vehicle coming back when someone else has booked it. And also I thought when u pick up vehicle the person goes with u to check out vehicle before and after.

I picked it up, they knew I was coming and they didn’t have it ready and they were not prepared. When I picked it up they only had a half tank of fuel in it and when I returned it with a half tank i was charged for the fuel. Why do I have to fill it if I get it half full. Would not recommend

When I booked this uhual I was originally told we would be picking up in westlock and dropping off in Barrhead. The day before I'm supposed to pick up I'm told pickup is now in Legal but still told I can drop off in Barrhead and not be charged the extra distance. The day of return I'm.told barrhead and westlock uhual are no longer in operation and I have to drop off in Legal and I'm being charged the extra distance. This is not ok and pretty shady way of doing business. If I would have been told this upfront I would have canceled the uhaul and rented a local truck in barrhwad to move with as it would have been $150 cheaper than this. I do not appreciate being lied to and told multiple times I would not be charged the extra distance and I would be able to drop off in barrhead. All were a lie. At this pint I would never recommend uhaul to anyone if this is the shady way their doing business.

Vehicle rented changed twice due to not available at requested location. Vehicle at new location would not start and had to use a big van that I could not drive, had to get someone to drive. Cabin was freezing, not a gentle ride. Whole experience was very frustrating.

I would not recommend U-Haul. The website shows KM's at a certain rate and when you get the agreement they increase it significantly. The quote showed the rate at .99/km and the agreement jumped it to $1.59/km.

Over an hour late. Rude staff. Had to wait over an hour past when I was supposed to get the truck and the manager was very dismissive. The staff kept just leaving to the back room while we were trying to figure the solution out. Called service number for U-Haul to let them know and the staff was quite rude as well. I am not someone who normally complains but this was a ridiculously bad experience

I originally rented ac15 foot from a St Albert location which is 16 km from my address because it was only location with 15 ft. Got there store was not opened and was suppose to be. Called uhaul then had to drive another 35 km to another dealer and got a 26 ft truck. Lost an hour and half while had helpers waiting for me. U haul did give me a 50$ credit. Got it done in end.

Legal Esso is not particularly clean and inviting, in fact, it’s a bit skid. However, it was a convenient drop-off location and the staff were knowledgeable.

Next time, please be aware of what was reserved.. the type of dolly. The correct one was brought out, then put away, then brought out again when I said for the second time that it was the correct type. I was charged for two dollies but only reserved and used one, was reimbursed by Uhaul. At truck return, I was charged more money for no reason. I rented an extra day and was charged over the phone. The gas station where I dropped m the truck charged me again and told me to call Uhaul myself and figure it out. The return took waaay too long and I was quite late for work. I wasn’t impressed by this. She also tried to argue the two dollies but I had an email stating I was reimbursed for the one I never reserved or took. It was a gong show. Dealing with Uhaul directly was easy abd their service was excellent though. I was also reimbursed for the double charge without having to call Uhaul. Thank you!

I got no confirmation the trailer was returned and the lady behind the desk was not well trained or knowledgeable about uhaul return procedures. Also, this location does not answer the phone - I tried calling several times. I will return elsewhere next time.
