I’m not sure if this has anything to do with the location or not but I chose to use the App for pickup. We were supposed to get out truck at a different location and uhaul changed it 2 days prior to pickup. They also indicated we would be using the App for pickup and texted me a link with a video showing instructions how the process works. We get there to pick up the truck and it is pouring so hard you can barely see. I go through all the steps in the app and the first issue was it said there was an issue with payment but my bank account was charged. So I tried using the chat feature and no one would respond so I took a chance and tried hitting process again and it finally let us continue. The next huge hurdle was getting the keys. The box on the side of the building was hardly out of the rain and the lock was not in great shape. The letters did not want to spin. We tried it several times. If there are cameras outside the building I’m sure you will see us struggling for at least 10 minutes or more. Once we finally got it open there were NO keys in the box!!! We were soaked and angry and now I had to call customer service to figure out what to do. I sat on hold for almost 10 minutes before telling my husband to go inside and see if they knew anything about where the keys might be. He came back out and found out they had them the whole time. So the next step in the process is to check for damage. Hmm… how do we do this when it is raining so hard you can’t see. My husband walked around to find the itty bitty “x” stickers. “Which we found later” because they were impossible to see in the rain. The whole experience at pick up was terrible. I feel like pick up should be, verify your truck number, plate, mileage, fuel. If the trucks are not kept somewhere out of the weather. Because it was impossible for us to do all the other tasks. I had stated to the lady who called me to change the location this was my first time renting and it will now be my last. Having to drive out of our way to pick up and take back the truck was not expected. No one wants that when they are already stressed out with moving. Then dealing with everything we did was terrible. I world not recommend the struggle of this to anyone.

Macomb wash and win is where I ordered the truck from. They were supposed to call me with the details of the truck pick up on Tues evening. They did not call. I called them. . “Truck is here. You are good to go, see you tomorrow. “ I show to pick it up after my wife dropped me off. No truck is available ( though two were sitting there unrented) “ my “ truck was in Lewiston IL 53 miles way. I was screwed. My wife had to leave her university department accreditation meeting to drive me a half hour home, so I can drive to Lewiston to get the truck. Wash and win totally fucked me over, and we’re absolutely unhelpful and took no responsibility. Everyone and thing from there was easy, But lack of knowledge, of those folks at that location made for one of most stressful days of my life. All because they didn’t do there job, or tell me where the truck was. It was terrible, I was on a tight schedule to get to Chicago, load my daughter’s stuff up according to the buildings schedule, and move her to Kansas City and be there for that scheduled buildings in time. Was a disaster. Put a lot of unnecessary stress on me and my wife which I do not appreciate. Wash and win,Macomb IL, incompetent. The rest of it, excellent, especially the guy in Lewiston.
