Have a little more gas in it It was almost on empty
Frank DThis location is a building that has been shut down by the city for health and safety issues. The gentleman that I worked with was operating out of his car. He was professional but this was unnerving, especially since he did not have the additional equipment that I requested, including furniture Dollie’s, a bundle of furniture pads, and a handcart. He found a handcart in another vehicle and did not charge me for it, which was appreciated. However, I had to drive around to find another rental place to find the furniture Dollies and furniture pads, at an additional cost, and additional mileage, which UHaul charged me for after I checked the truck back in.

Tonyell Ywhen i was taking the truck some is living in the truck for stay(i think so some was sleeping in the front door) and some one was travelled before this truck and didn't submitted the travelled miles and while we are strating the truck they gave us 0 miles and we ended with miles is 18.3 miles. but after submitted the truck its showing the total reading of the truck total of truck travelled is wrong i think somethime wrong or the location manager is doing the scam for the customers. i think so we have faced the problems forf submitting the truck.

Jean WThis was the worst U-Haul rental I ever had. It makes me never want to utilize U-Haul again. The truck was disgustingly dirty inside the drivers side and inside the storage area, truck smelled like cigarette, and I got the truck on 15 miles to empty.
Danielle GI was supposed to do mobile pick up but had to do 3 more things upon arrival that should’ve been sent to me ahead of time. Truck wreaked of weed. I was somehow got charged $138 when my original quote was $60. The odometer reading upon entering it was saying I drove 296 miles when I drove 6 miles. Not well managed location but the truck did what I needed it to do. Would love an explanation how I was up charged more than double my original quote.

TIFFANY SMy haul had 3 miles to empty when I received it, I almost didn’t make it to a gas station. It also had a bunch of cigarettes in the front cab. Most importantly, the back cab leaks when rain gets in, which was no clear until all of our stuff was loaded, so now half of my boxes are wet.

KARAMJEET SThe vehicle was filthy inside around 40 cents of pennies left in dash old candy in cup compartments, loose trash and bottles on floor and seat.
AVRIEL WPick up was difficult because the man was not there at the time of pick up; which pushed my reservation back about an hour. The trailer of the truck was dirty, had to sweep it out myself before pulling off.
Tanaee W- I was under the impression this neighborhood location was self-service. A gentleman sitting in a car called me over and seemed to be on the phone with somebody who facilitated my pickup. - There were about three other guys just hanging out around a van by the parking lot, loitering. One of them came to help the other gentleman open the lot so I could get my truck. It was kind of unnerving. - it wasn't immediately clear which truck was mine and the condition of my truck was poor. It was a filthy vehicle that was falling apart on the inside.

verna aNo dollies or carts were available even though we reserved them. Vehicle was delivered with very little gas (1/8) but was reported as 1/4.
Carley BI ended up at this location due to the failure of an original booked location's equipment availability. I was moved around 3 times in the matter of 12 hours before my rental. Little Detailing did a great job, haul corporate did not.

Irvin GI returned the truck here and the rep just took the key after I parked it where he directed me. Fortunately, I retrieved the key to do the check in online. He wasn't rude, just not helpful.

DAVID TWhen I arrived the location that I confirmed was open was “closed”. I understand this was not a dedicated U Haul location. That didn’t bother me. There were trucks lined up on the street. Not a problem in an urban area. I went out of my way to fill up with gas and fold blankets I used. I approached the business on foot and a man sitting in a chair on the sidewalk said “I’ll take your keys.”. I had no way of knowing if this person worked there or not. It could have been just some guy hanging out on the sidewalk. I said, “no thanks”. I was prepared to leave keys in a drop box, but not with a random unidentifiable stranger. I walked past him to enter the building since I called to confirm they were open until 7pm. As I opened the door to the business the man on the chair became very agitated and yelled at me. “Don’t go in there, I told you to give me the keys.” I responded I didn’t know who he was or if he worked there. He pulled up his sweatshirt to show me a t-shirt wil the business name on it. I told him “how was I supposed to know that?” At that point I just wanted to get out of there. I gave him the keys. There was no walk through or check out. It was a horrible experience.
Nick KThe employees were very helpful and nice. Other than that this is the worst location to pick up a truck and I’ll never go back. In fact I’ll avoid ever having to use U-Haul again.

Jose LLocation was changed a few days prior to pick up. The new location was in a terrible neighborhood in Chicago's westside. They didn't have a 17' as I had originally reserved so I had to get a 15'. Keys were not in the lockbox and I had to wait 45 minutes for an employee to arrive. This caused scheduling issues with the movers and the elevator reservations. The truck was filthy inside and out. It was completely out of gas when picked up. No dolly's were available even though I requested 2. The employee said "we don't do dolly's here". I'll probably rent a team of packmules before getting another Uhaul.

deborah bThe attendant was rude and unhelpful. The truck was filthy and unkempt. The gas gage was counting down 22 miles to empty so I could not verify the miles when I picked up the truck. Very poor experience.
Jason MThe uhaul I wanted was not available and I had to pay extra for another. The entire experience was unsettling due to location as well. Uhual was unresponsive and would not reply to any calls or messages.
Maria dFirst off I was moved to this location even though I wanted to pick up in Pilsen. Then, the mobile app check in experience did not let us complete the check-in process so had to call customer service to help which was not ideal since this is NOT in a nice part of Chicago and actually quite scary. I ordered 30 furniture blankets which were supposed to be in the truck and the blankets were not in the truck. So then I had to go to the Pilsen location who said they cannot rent blankets one-way unless its WITH a truck which meant I had to call customer service who also couldn't help. They said it was up to the location manager. They ended up renting to me anyways because I had movers coming in 1 hour. This was a terrible start to moving day. We also picked up the truck and it was less than 1/4 full of gas which required another call to customer service.

My scheduled pick up time was 1 but I had to wait 45 minutes for the employee to get there. The truck was extremely dirty and the employee seemed to be using the truck for his personal use. He took several bags and trash out of the car and handled me the keys.

The building location where the trucks are kept appears to be condemned, and I’m fairly certain there was a man selling drugs out of another truck parked in front of the building. Worst U-Haul experience I’ve ever had, and will likely not be returning as a customer.

Tondalisja HThe U-Haul little detailing auto spa owner was extra fantastic. Someone at U-Haul co, switched my 'day van' to a small box truck when I had ordered a van almost 2weeks prior. No way would that've worked. He corrected the problem and I got the van.

BETTINA MThis location was in the ghetto of Chicago. There was no trace of a U-Haul truck, or signage anywhere. Ended up taking it to a different location. Luckily a man at the other location was helpful. I was talking to customer service when he approached my vehicle and help me. That was not a good place to send someone to drop off a truck.
Danielle nOffice was delayed 45 mins getting the key for my truck. I sat outside the truck waiting for the mechanic to get a call back about where the key was. Truck was filthy also, water in the cup holders and the chairs had stains. The back loading area of the truck was covered in dirt and the outside of the van looked like it was driven through mud. Multiple dents and scratches on the van. The mileage was off also, however I failed to check it before logging through this app b/c I made the assumption once done checking in, there would be a code for the lock box. I only drove 12 miles total. Between my old apartment and the new one.
Jeremy OI booked a truck in advance for my allotted move in time and pulled up to get the truck I reserved and the truck wasn’t available. I waited for 20 min and called the 1-800 number and they had to send me to another location where I waited another 30 min. It wasn’t very professional. I was told a voucher got put in for two $50 credits to my card for a total of $100 being compensated to me.
Rae WLocation too far and was switched last minute, the person before me didn’t return the truck and i had to downgrade two sizes to a van, the van had less than a quarter tank of gas and extremely dirty.
Angelina CMake sure rental is prepared for the renter. Everything in life is about impression, 1st impression is a lasting impression. Van was filthy inside and out, previous trash left in truck, outlets did not work, no windshield solution, and of course gas tank was on E. You require customers to sign a contract agreeing to many terms and conditions, specifically cleaning of the rental. However, the customer nor owner is being held accountable. It was a very poor experience.

Albert MWell my reservation was to pick up the cargo van from 215 S. Western Ave in chicago at 10am. When I called to double check on the address, someone picked up the phone and told me that they not open till 11 or 11:30am and I needed to catch a flight later in the day because I’m moving. 11:30am came around and the guy didn’t even bother picking up the phone and he really put me in a bad situation where I missed my flight because I now had to go to another uhual place to get a truck. Just terrible and unprofessional.
